It has been very difficult to find a toaster that toasts items evenly on both sides. Trying several different companies and models at home, we were very frustrated that something as simple as toast was so difficult to create. Well, right out of the box; perfectly browned on both sides of the bread!

The design was very nice but that's not what toasts the bread. In fact nothing about this toaster toasted bread. From the first use, on the highest setting, the only indication that the bread had been in the toaster was its warmth and dryness. No “toasted” color whatsoever. I returned it. Disappointed in GE as I have been a repeat consumer for 40+ years. If you can't design a decent toaster why should I buy GE appliances?

I bought this to replace my 20 year old Stainless / Black GE Toaster just to upgrade, there is nothing wrong with my older one, I have passed on to a friend, This new one is great, finger print free and stylish, slightly bigger than the old one and Toast just great.

I had high expectations for this toaster, given the high ratings online and being from GE. Unfortunately, I returned it to the store after only a couple days. It does not toast both sides evenly – not even close, (see pictures). At the 4.5 setting, one side is dark and the other is very light. (No, it wasn't on the ‘bagel' setting.) Upon further inspection and testing, I noticed that only about half of the heating elements in all the slots were glowing red and in a haphazard pattern. No wonder the toasting is inconsistent! Toasters are not some new technology. How hard is it to ensure that all the heating elements glow when the toaster is in use?? Very disappointing.

It toasts unevenly and splotchy - light in some areas and very dark in others. Also one side toasted more than the other. I went thru all the suggested maintenance steps to no avail. It was somewhat that way when I first used it but I figured it would work thru it somehow but it only got worse! The most frustrating part is that I bought it to replace and old run-of-the-mill toaster that wasn't toasting properly either!

We like our toast to be toasted. We found that the lower settings do barely anything at all. There are 7 settings and the first five settings hardly touch our wheat bread. Settings 1 to 5 might work if you use soft white bread, but for multigrain or dark bread we keep it on 6. Love that it holds 4 slices without taking up too much extra space.

Extra wide slot for toasting bagels. Even frozen bread products can be toasted. Seven settings with increasing toasting shades. Easy to remove and replace crumb trays. 4-Slice Toaster works like two toasters in one unit with independent settings for each set of 2 slots. Great for quicker making of toast when you have visitors.

This is a very modern looking toaster appliance which I love. Since it is a 4 slice toaster it does command a wider counter-top space footprint. It has very easy to use controls and you can set your browning adjustments from 1 to 7. The appliance did a nice job toasting both bread and bagels. If you use the bagel setting, the toaster only operates the inside elements therefore you need to place the cut side facing inwards. If you like your bagel toasted on both sides, just use the regular setting of the toaster. Before using the appliance for the first time, you should operate the unit empty once or twice in order to burn off the smell on the new elements using the darkness control set to 7. I found that after the second cycle of the empty burn, the appliance no longer produced any smell. Overall this is a wonderful product with a 4 slice capability which has separate controls. Its stainless steel look is modern and fits well in any kitchen. Registering your product is made easy as you can scan the QR code that automatically populates your products name and serial number. Super easy, awesome. Great product.

The toaster is attractive; however, I'm not impress with this product. Three of the ports only toast slice bread on one side! I don't know if the toaster was designed toast this way or if something went wrong in the manufacturing process. At any rate, I expected more from a GE product.
