Christmas gift that didn’t function. Total bummer. After hours of trying to get this machine to work it’s totally defective. Extremely unhappy and disappointed. Hoping the return process will be ok although they are not open on the weekend so it’s not starting off well.

I the tried cleaning the grinder area as suggested by Kitchen Aid. It’s better for one grind. Then the grinds fry everywhere.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you know your way around an espresso machine, this should be easy to use! If you don't, it's fairly easy to learn. I really like how fine it grinds the beans, which is very important to me. It includes a cleaning mode, which is extremely helpful. This machine is quite heavy, but it seems very durable. It comes with 4 different metal blind filters, which I am still figuring out the difference between the filters and which ones gives me the best espresso shot. The grinder option for a double shot does grind a lot of coffee, where it seems like it's overflowing. If I do use the double shot setting on the grinder, I will set it so it's closer to the "less" than a full double shot setting. The drawer that holds the filters can get stuck if you don't pull it straight out. The water tank comes with a water filter, which I think is a plus because then you aren't getting the harsh water running through the machine.

Set up was a little tricky; the instructions weren't accurate and we ended up having to figure out set up on our own. Now that we have everything up and running, we've been making delicious espresso, lattes and more with our machine. It is a great addition to our kitchen. Highly recommend.

Everything is easy to use and learning time as someone who has never made espresso was very easy. The grinder does a great job grinding the beans and the milk frother is amazing as well. The machine works great grinding beans or using pre-ground. I really love this product and it has really elevated my coffee experience everyday. Also the parts are all easy to clean and I really like how big the water tank is.

It’s has a little compartment that slides out and holds the filter baskets. It Heats up pretty quick after you turn it on. So far I’ve been making great tasting espresso drinks.

The latter was normally done on a kettle style machine or a simple, manual coffee maker; while emergencies were handled at a coffee shop or via k-cup. That all changed with this machine. Making a high quality cup of espresso is typically a rather involved process, and while there is still the expected step-by-step routine with this Kitchenaid, it is so efficiently designed that you hardly need an instruction manual to use it. Based on efficiency, versatility, design and the ability to crank out an excellent espresso in no time, this machine gets a shining 5 star review from me. I can't wait to show off my skills at my next get together!

This one has an easy learning curve and the brew quality is always perfect. The grinder isn’t loud like some machines. Tamping was a bit of a learning curve but within a few cups you get the gist of it!
