I have been looking for a new espresso machine for home for quite some time. I kept debating between semi & fully automatic options with a plethora of different price points. I was genuinely unable to make a decision until I saw this beauty. I love the sleek design & the fact that the exterior is not plastic. I have seen far more expensive machines that I would never be able to justify the price point of, but this is a solid machine & I believe it is worth every penny. And, can we take a moment to admire how beautiful the Juniper shade is? It’s perfect. Setup was very quick from unpacking the box to making my first latte. The steam wand is comparable to many other machines within this price range & you will have no issues making a piping hot latte, americano or even a perfect cup of tea. I am extremely impressed with how quiet the grinder is. I can make a latte in the morning before work without being in fear that the noise will wake my spouse. The machine does not take up a massive footprint on my countertop. It is fairly compact. My upper kitchen cabinets are set a bit low so I was fairly certain that I would not be able to set it on the countertop at all, but it fits like a glove. If I had *one* negative thing to say it would be that my puck does not always easily release from my portafilter. Overall, I could not be happier with my espresso machine. Not incentivized. I paid for my machine with my own money.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this Semi Automatic Espresso Machine with Burr Grinder about a month ago. The instructions booklet could use some work. I had trouble finding the tray with some of the parts and the directions didn’t always show the next step clearly. In spite of this and with zero experience with espresso machines, I figured out how to grind the beans, brew the espresso, and steam the milk. I’m still working on the settings for the ultimate espresso but the results so far have been great. I’ve tried several of the recipes in the booklet and a few from internet searches with great results. It’s time to invite friends over for coffee and pastries. As any espresso machine would, this one makes noise during its various processes, so be warned if you’re making morning coffee and have light sleepers. I think this a great start for a first espresso machine.

It features a gauge on the front that is helpful with telling you if the pressure is good when it is pouring. The water tank in the back is a nice size. It looks great on my counter, the milk frother works great, I really do love this machine!

It takes a little bit of practice, but once you get the hang of it, this makes it so easy to make delicious fancy coffee drinks at home! Clean up is pretty simple, and the burr grinder works well and grinds the beans to a great consistency.

It worked well for a few weeks and then started to malfunction when making two shots of espresso, so we used the one shot multiple times until the new machine came. We received the new machine at the beginning of January and the pressure gauge immediately did not work. The needle would not move no matter if we used more/less beans, more/less pressure when tamping, multiple different kinds of beans. It was just simply broken. So I called kitchenaid yet again. One month later and many many hours of phone calls to wait until the previous machine had been “checked in” we have a 3rd machine coming as of yesterday. They gave me the run around many times as to when it would be checked in and to keep calling back on a certain day(this went on for weeks). With two machines malfunctioning within a month of each other, we wanted our money back, but kitchenaid was not willing to do that(even when some agents made me believe this would be an option). This has been an unbelievably frustrating time considering the amount of money and time we have wasted on this machine.
