Enriched Flour switch ruins this bread!

I am beyond disappointed to see that Sam's Club has switched the recipe for this sourdough to enriched flour. For those of us with a physiological intolerance to folic acid, the previous recipe was a literal lifesaver. It was the only affordable, clean sourdough I could find, and I would regularly buy 3 or 4 loaves at a time. It was the primary reason I maintained my Sam's Club membership. By switching to enriched flour, you have turned a high-quality, "real" bread into just another mass-produced product that I can find anywhere else. You've taken away a dietary staple for your sensitive members and, in doing so, removed my biggest incentive to shop here. Please consider returning to the traditional, non-enriched flour recipe. Until then, I'll be looking elsewhere for my groceries.

Not real sourdough

I had been buying this in bulk and compared my loaves previously bought with sku 984229401 to the new sku 984307619 and they are not the same. SKU ending 9401 was real sourdough per the ingredients the new sku 7619 is not sourdough it is made with yeast the taste is also off almost like a honey wheat.

New recipe is terrible!

I have been buying this bread for years, it's always been one of the best sourdough breads. The new recipe is terrible. It was dry and did not have any sour dough taste. They have added additional ingredients to the label it used to be such a great clean ingredient list. So disappointed!

just as the majority off other reviewers noted, this WAS phenomenal Sourdough up until a couple of months ago...now its bad. It's a completely different recipe and it's a fraud now based on ingredients. I would rather pay more for the previous recipe/baker that eat this junk. Sam's, please...for the love of God, bring back the old recipe.

Something changed in the last year. I'm giving it 2 stars because it was really good before. Now it taste like a plan loaf, it's super flat and the last loaf I got was overbaked unfortunately. Hopefully they go back to their original recipe or original baker.

Low quality ingredients and very sour

I wish Sam's Club would carry a better quality sourdough. I tried this one out of curiosity even though it contains low quality soybean oil, which is terrible. It was not good. I understand it's called sourdough but I've never had a sourdough that tasted extremely sour before. This was very sour. That combined with the seed oil and low quality ingredients, I would never buy this again. I buy nearly all my groceries at Sam's Club but I still have to go to Aldi to get their sliced sourdough which has 5 ingredients and is very clean, no oils. You don't need oil to make sourdough.

Why did they change the recipe?

Within 2 weeks they changed the recipe and it is now hard, dense and awful. It doesn't taste anything like the sourdough bread they had up until about a month ago. This is no longer sourdough bread and I won't be buying it again until they get the old recipe back..

So disappointing!

This used to be my absolute favorite sourdough. I used to buy 2 loaves at a time. Why would you fix something that wasn't broken?! it used to be 130 calories per slice, and it was made with a starter. This new version is 170 calories and no starter. Why?!

Sams ruined a good thing again. what used to be good sourdough bread is now fake sourdough using yeast instead of a sourdough starter. As a diabetic, what was once a trusted go-to I could tolerate, unexpectedly became a huge blood sugar spike because of a recipe change that bypasses fermentation. It also tastes like total crap now.

From great to worst

This used to be our favorite sourdough bread. Something changed a little while ago and now it's awful. Bland, dry, flat and doesn't taste at all like sourdough anymore. I refuse to buy this anymore until they change it back. Used to go often to buy it, but now that it sucks it saves me money because I don't go shopping at Sam's as much.
