Amazing Product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just what i was looking for. Grinds coffee to perfection and is not as noisy as other grinders. Impressed with the look, durability and quality. Highly recommended to anyone who loves coffee and wants to enjoy it fresh and flavorful everytime.

Very Good Coffee Grinder and Customer Service

I've never owned a coffee grinder before, but this model works very well. It's very simple to use and automatic, so I don't have to think too much! The coffee from the fresh ground beans is, of course, awesome, and in the end, that's the most important thing. I originally bought one from an online source, but that one was defective. However, when I reached out to Cuisinart customer service, they were very friendly and replaced the unit quickly. This one has been running like a champ.

Reliable Workhorse

We bought our first one in 2015 after having used one at a friends house. We used it daily to grind at least 16 tablespoons of coffee, mostly for espresso. That means that we ground over 450 pounds of coffee before the motor gave out in 2022. The grind-size adjustment worked well as we changed back and forth from pour-over to expresso. The grinding measurement bar was accurate and maintenance was easy. Based on those seven years I would definitely give it a 5-star rating. That said, while we love the replacement unit that we bought in 2022, the grinder no longer measures the amount of coffee accurately. In order to get 16 tablespoons I now have to grind 18+6 on the measuring scale. It is a minor detail but a bit of a nuisance. We are hoping to get another 7 years out of this one!

Good for Daily Use

This grinder replaces the same item purchased 2 or 3 years ago. Every morning we grind enough coffee beans for 2 pots of coffee. We clean the grinder about every 6-9 months when it "gets hung up" - as the "hang ups" become more frequent, it's clear we need to replace the grinder. We opted to buy this item again since it gets the job done, is not a costly item to replace every 2-3 years-ish, it looks nice on our kitchen counter.

Good for the price

Purchased a month ago and here are my thoughts. The coffee receptacle post grinding is plastic and the coffee tends to stick to it (static electricity) making a messy transfer to coffee maker or container. My other gripe is the volume of the grind.its very loud and I find myself grinding the night before so I don't disturb my family. As for the grind itself, it works very well and makes good tasting coffee.

Great Coffee Grinder

What a great coffee grinder. I researched coffee grinders for a few days and decided on this one. I like that I can slide the grind setting from very fine to very coarse and everything in between. I can tell it how many cups of coffee I want to brew, and it automatically shuts off when it reaches the amount I need. It is just the right size, too. It looks really nice on my countertop next to my coffee maker. I am very happy with my purchase.

Powders grind on medium-Loud! will wake the dead!

There are some pluses and minuses to this grinder first let me go over the minuses. The grinder powders much of the grind even on medium. Although I don't want to make it to course, I think that it could do better with a more consistent grind instead of creating a lot of powder that it does on medium. This also causes an issue with the reservoir that it goes into. it cakes on the inside and is hard to get out and requires you to use that little brush. That's really a hassle, and to get it out of the reservoir and into the filter of the coffee pot is another tricky deal. I have found that I have to take my number 4 cone filter and put around the top of the reservoir over all 4 corners (and it just fits) and turn it upside down and rap on it to get the coffee out of it before putting it into the plastic holder and back into the coffee pot before I can brew a cup of coffee. It won't just pour out easily as it cake and binds up inside and will end up spilling outside of the cone filter and getting inside the plastic part of your coffee pot if you don't do it this way. It also tends to blow some loose crumbs around the hole that it goes into the reservoir down onto the base of the unit which require some additional cleaning and it also sticks to the lid pretty bad. The reservoir is also very hard to align perfectly to get it to slide back into place on the unit as it does not have an adequate guide to make it smooth to return to its proper position to grind more coffee, even if you feel you have it perfectly straight. I usually have to take about 4-5 tries to get it back in position. Now on the pluses side of this unit. It does make a perfectly good pot of coffee with my 14 cup coffee maker on the 14 cup setting to grind a pot of coffee. The Auto Stop feature is an excellent plus and the bean Hopper I've discovered will hold an entire 12 oz bag of beans with just enough room to get the lid comfortably back on. It is designed well as far as how much space the unit takes up and does have a good appearance and it is very easy to adjust the desired grind by turning the hopper to the desired grind you require. I only brew up my regular Joe so I can't comment as to the expresso required French Press type of grind as I don't use this process. I do feel it would be great for that since it does grind the medium grind up very fine. For its price point and overall workability it is in my opinion a well recommended buy. Also on the negative side don't press the start button to grind up coffee unless everyone's awake or you're going to wake everyone in the entire house. it is very loud!

Great grinder, 2nd time around

We are daily drip coffee drinkers, and had this unit for 5 years until it stopped working. We are very satisfied with its performance and longevity at this price point. One area of improvement would be to find a way to reduce static electricity when grinding, as it makes it a bit messy, although most other grinders we have read about suffer from the same issue. We have found a way to vastly reduce the static buildup, but it would be great to have it built into the unit.

Great grinder, less plastic.

Great grinder except for the plastic grind cup static electricity issue. After top removed and while scooping out or pouring from cup, enough grounds to make a mess come flying out and stick to everything close by, including outside of cup. Should be made of metal.

It’s an inexpensive disc grinder

I’ve had it for a few weeks. It gets better results than weeks old grocery store coffee. But it doesn’t do a consistent grind unless you use medium fine or less. If you need course grind for French press you get a lot of fine bits because it’s a disc grinder. It also has issues with a truly fine grind. If you want to use an espresso maker or make Turkish coffee look elsewhere. I use an aeropress and I get good results at a medium fine setting. I suspect it would be OK for drip or pour over although I haven’t tried. If you know it’s limitations going in, it’s ok. It’s not expensive, nor should it be.
