The light attracts the flying bugs, and the bugs get stuck on the sticky discs. I will be purchasing more for other areas of my home. works great for flies and mosquitoes.

You peel off the protective film to reveal the sticky glue and you drop it into the base. You close it back up and plug it in. That’s it. No weird chemical smells. It comes with extra glue traps. My first impression is that this would be more effective in catching larger flying insects than the light traps that illuminate and trap at the power outlet. With a UV light and built in fan the device is able to attract and trap insects without the use of chemicals. The temperature to test this product was not ideal. Being already in the colder months, there was not much insects flying in my household. It did catch one insect after days past. Overall, the STEM Flying Insects Fan Trap Starter Kit would be a reliable and safe option for controlling flying insects indoors.

Spring is just hitting so gnats and mosquitoes are not bad at all yet, but they will be. Testing it out for several hours, I was surprised to see a few tiny gnats. I’m excited to use this when the mosquitos come! There is a UV light that attracts the insects and a fan that sucks them down into the sticky tape. Comes with 5 sticky tapes. I’m wondering how long one lasts without changing.

I really like the touchscreen with timer options for 3, 6, or 12 hours which removes the need to remember to turn it off every day. The fan is quiet too. We live in Austin, TX and with the mosquitos that always find their way inside during spring and summer, this will be a game changer. It already caught a few insects in the house and can’t wait for it to catch the mosquitoes when they are out in full force later this year. Is it bad if I keep score of how many bites I get vs how many mosquitos get stuck on the trap? ;)
