Starlink mini is a great option for those who are highly mobile, very remote, and have very limited space. Hiking, motorcycle camping and riding in remote cross country (BDX trails), or just off-the-grid but still need reliable communications, but can't afford Iridium prices? The Starlink Mini is for you. works as well as the larger version un most conditions. There is some limitation if these is partial sky coverage by trees, but other than that, it's a great item. Open sky provides reliable and fast internet with just a 12 volt 3 amp DC power supply. But the Starlink Mini will work on 12-48VDC using 15 watts at idle, up to 60 watts with the Wi-Fi router on and snow melt heater. Use of the ethernet connection without the wi-fi turned on reduces the power consumption to about 18-25 watts. The Starlink Mini can eve be powered by USB-C PD, so if you have a larger power bank (Over 10,000mAh) with USB-C PD output you could run your Starlink Mini off that for a few hours. Using a very large power bank like the monster sized Renogy 72,000mAh PD would likely keep your communication up for several days. But you can't fly with this power bank, even in your carry on. Personally I use a Goal Zero 200, a 100 watt solar panel and have run for over a week with the Starlink Mini, an ethernet cable and a 17" laptop. I also keep my GPS and iPhone 6 charged. All that fits withthe rest of my kit on a motorcycle. As a bonus, I can connect my Verizon Wireless Network Extender to the Starlink Mini and have solid 4G-LTE cellular service hundreds of miles from the nearest cell tower.

DO NOT BUY. I was assessed a $300 fee from spacex for activating out of region. In Alabama. I was told this is not an authorized reseller, although walmart is listed as an authorized reseller on the SpaceX Website. Completely deceptive. This listing should be taken down immediately. I was exited to get this product, but this purchase has been completely unacceptable and this seller should be banned permanently...
