This Samsung Surround System is nice

I just needed a soundbar for my bedroom because to me my tv wasn’t loud enough. I saw this deal that had more in it for $139 plus tax. It took me some time to learn the remote to change the rear speakers volume and the other options for listening. I bought a second remote from Amazon as a back up remote.

Overall it’s a quality system especially when on discount however the only Bluetooth device seems to be the sound bar and not the side speakers which takes away from the surround sound I was expecting. Overall a good system, but consider a different option if you want a 360 field of sound.

Rear speakers are wired not wireless

Sounds great - good value for the money, especially if you buy on a Black Friday sale. But the fact that the rear speakers are wired is kind of lame. The description says "wireless rear surround sound speakers". What you actually get is a right and left rear channel speaker, so two rear speakers, which are wired to a transmitter that has to be plugged into the wall. This is kind of a pain with all the wiring involved and far from what I was picturing.

the "wireless rear speaker kit" is a receiver that you have to wire to the rear speakers. Pretty disappointed in this marketing scheme by Samsung. Returned it immediately. The speakers look nice. Not sure about sound quality, but the rms rating is the same as the max rating, which seems kinda fishy.

Don’t be fooled by 5-star promotional comments!

Thumbs down! This subwoofer produces almost no sound! It only seems to kick on at around 50hz and then it cuts out again around 80hz and even then it’s barely heard. Even when all the settings are maxed out it’s much too quiet. The wireless rear speakers do work, but without a usable subwoofer the sound experience is pointless. I would equate it to plugging cheap computer speakers into your television. Yes it’s connected properly (blue link light on). I’ve tried having it connected through optic cable as well as through BT and the results are the same. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

Hello, Thank you for sharing your experiences with the new HW-C47M Soundbar. There are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot your Soundbar. You can download the firmware directly from Samsung’s website by clicking “Support” in the top right corner. Then go to “Manuals & Software” > “TVs & Home Theater” > “Home Theater” > “Sound Bars”. From there, you can select the HW-C47M under Standard. Download the update and install it via USB thumb stick to your soundbar. If you need additional help, there are how-to instructions on this page. Please know that Samsung Customer Service is here to assist as well. Next, try doing a soft reset, unplug the soundbar from the outlet for roughly 30 seconds and then plug it back in. If this still does not correct your issue, then do a hard reset. With the Soundbar on, press the + & - Volume buttons on the body of the soundbar at the same time for at least 5 seconds. INIT OK” appears on the display and then the Soundbar is reset. Not really happy with my purchase as of yet.

I like that the speaker for tv works great, but it doesn't give me the surround sound in the back like my other brand system did. The instructions that came with it, doesn't five me any instructions on how to make more adjustments for the back speakers, just the front. Not really sure if I like the system itself.

You can adjust the volume of the rear speakers by using the remote included with the connected soundbar. Press the CH LEVEL button on the soundbar remote, then select REAR LEVEL and use the Up/Down buttons to adjust the volume within a -6 to +6 range. Additionally, make sure that the source (e.g. TV output) is sending surround channels to the Soundbar. If you are using a format such as PCM, you may experience decreased volume to the rear speakers. Select Bitstream, Auto, or Pass-Through as these settings will allow the TV to send the correct channels to the rear speakers. I hope these tips help to enhance your audio enjoyment. Rear Channels dont function independently

Front and Center play along with the rear singals. thus making these essentally a stereo setup. i am connected via the optical connection with no luck. i had to use an optial extractor in the current room due to no optical out on the projector. will try moving to the tv room which has a dedicated optical passthrough and see jd that improves the setup. the extractor is rated to passthrough 5.1 so i dont see the issue
