I love how consistent the mechanisms are to adjust each seat, so I don’t have to try to figure out how to adjust settings on each seat. I love that this seat converts to a backless booster because we are juuuuuust about to move to backless for my oldest. This seat has lots of storage which is perfect for your kid to pile loose goldfish and pop tart wrappers in. The comfort level is great which is perfect for long car rides so the only thing they have to complain about is boredom. The headrest adjusts really easily and the cup holders are an awesome feature too. You can never have too many of those! I received this booster from the Stellar Product Testing Panel and love it!

The high-back portion offers a snug fit for my 9-year-old (56lbs), while still being accommodating for my 5.5-year-old (52lbs). It’s a more compact seat compared to others we've used, which allows us to safely fit three across in the backseat. The seat is comfortable, with plenty of padding on the sides for a cozy ride. I appreciate that the padding is easily removable for quick cleaning, after spills or accidents. Additionally, my kids enjoy having access to cup holders, which is a nice feature! However, I did find it a bit inconvenient that the cup holders are not removable. This makes it challenging to clean up sticky drink spills or snacks that get stuck. The front-adjust latch system is incredibly convenient, making the installation of both the high back and no back booster a breeze. This design minimizes the potential for user error, ensuring a secure fit every time. Without the risk of the booster sliding out from under your child. The adjustable headrest is a fantastic feature that allows for quick adjustments when transitioning between my two children or as your child grows. With an easily accessible handle, the headrest moves smoothly from one position to the next, providing a hassle-free experience. The ability of the Turbobooster Extend 2-in-1 booster to transform from a high-back to a backless booster is an excellent feature for a growing child. My eldest child (of four) is about to turn 8 and is finally outgrowing her traditional car seat so we were searching for a good booster that could grow with her to fit our needs. When the Graco turbobooster extend arrived, I was impressed with how easily it fit together. I am extremely NOT mechanically minded and even I managed to have the entire booster together in three minutes. The design is intuitive which I appreciate - the three pieces easily fit together, the headrest can be adjusted with ease, and even my two year old could easily pull the cupholders out or push them back in. Currently, we have plenty of space in our minivan to leave the cupholders out but when we go on vacation we often fit three car seats next to each other in which case we'd have no room for the cup holders. The fact that they slide in to the point that they leave no real footprint (as you can see in the photos) is a great feature. My favorite feature is how easy it is to convert the booster to a backless booster because it means one less item we'll need to purchase when our daughter eventually outgrows this seat! The booster is a classic black and gray design which matches everything and was easy to set up in our van with the use of the front-adjust LATCH system. My daughter gave it a 10/10 for comfort although she did mention that the sides felt like the could soon become a bit snug. She's on the petite side - but again is almost 8 years old - so if your child is a bit broader you may just end up needing to switch over to the backless option a bit sooner. Overall, I would definitely recommend this as a solid booster seat that is sure to meet all of your needs!

The latch restraints are fantastic so it’s not a projectile hazard when empty. The front-adjust on the latch system made installation a breeze. The added safety with this feature alone makes the booster worth buying but the hidden cup holder, easy-to-clean fabric, and adjustable headrest make it even better! Assembly took 2 minutes by myself and I was able to disassemble it in seconds to check it for air travel. Both my 5 and 6 year olds like the feel of the seat as a high-back booster and said it was still comfortable after several hours of driving on a road trip. The Graco Turbobooster Extend 2-in-1 Booster is a good option for those that are looking for a booster for an older kid that can grow with them. We installed it in my husband’s car which is an SUV with captain chairs for the second row. I tried this out for both my almost 5 year old and my 7 year old. My 7 year old is 55 lbs and 48” tall and my almost 5 year old is 40 lbs and 44” tall. The booster (with and without) the back part is for 40-100 lbs so a great long lasting option. I love getting longer use out of products so the fact it grows with the kid and you can remove the back is a huge plus. It had a nice anchor latch system that was easy to install and secure. I was pleasantly surprised that for a booster, it had such a nice latch system. It was very easy to install and adjust the car seat. You can easily adjust the headrest and adjust arm rests for a different sized kiddo so it makes it easy switching back and forth between two kids with different weight and heights. The fact that the 2 cup holders fold in makes it a good option if you have less space available in your vehicle (if you have 2 car seats next to each other on a bench style seating arrangement). It’s easy to pull them out and push the cup holder back in so you won’t be fighting with it. I let my oldest sit with the back of the booster on and backless. She thought that the backless was more comfortable. We both agreed that it was spacious without being too clunky. It’s very lightweight too so if you need to move it between cars, it’s not heavy. That’s also a plus for grandparents (the fact it’s easy to install and light to carry). The fabric comes off easily when you need to wash it and put it back on. My oldest wished that the arm rests were fabric instead of plastic, but I liked that it made it easier to clean. I think it’s a good option for every day use but it’s also a great option for grandparents to have one for grandkids since it’s so affordable, lightweight, and easy to install. Safety and brand reputation is important to me and I feel confident using this product for my kids.

I currently use a very similar 2-in-1 booster seat of a different brand. The design of this booster is pretty simple, sleek and very lightweight. Assembly was very quick and easy and the instructions easy to read. My daughter (7) has plenty of space in this seat and likes the comfort of the seat. She found it just as comfortable as her current seat. To me, the booster section of the seat felt a bit firmer than the other brand’s seat, but my daughter couldn’t tell the difference. The adjustable headrest is very easy to use and my daughter liked being able to rest her head on the side panels of the headrest. The front-adjust LATCH system is very similar to the one we currently have. The clips for attaching the seat to the car’s anchors are easy enough to use as long as the anchors are easy to access. We tried the seat in our car as well as in a hire car. In our car, the anchors are hidden in the seat cushions and you can only access them by feel. That made it harder to attach the hooks, since you had to try and guess where to push down. In our hire car, the anchors stuck out quite a bit and it was a breeze to attach the hooks. It is fairly easy to tighten the straps to secure the seat and the release button is also very easy to use. We had an opportunity to travel with this seat and we chose to leave the back part of the seat at home. The seat part of the booster is very light and easy to travel with and was easy to move from car to car. The thing I liked most about this booster seat is that it gave us more space in the car, since the cup holders can retract. My daughter also felt like that was a pretty cool feature. Compared to our existing booster seat, the Graco Turbobooster Extend feels like it’s a lower cost, but well thought out option for people who are on a budget and not fussed about fancy gadgets. For example, the hooks that attach the seat to the anchors, as well as the plastic release button are pretty basic compared to the ones on our other seat and the material used for the seat cover is a bit more synthetic than I would usually go for. Overall, it’s a good seat that my daughter approves of and I would recommend it for someone looking for a lightweight, comfortable, easy to use 2-in-1 booster seat.

I'm so glad I did because it fits pretty much what my son's been asking for. My 5 year old is 49" tall, so the seat belt hits him in a comfortable spot. He loves to have his milk and water on the way to school. This has two built in (and foldable) cup holders which do not intrude on the seats next to the booster. As you can see, there's still a gap between him and the baby's car seat. Unlike his other booster seat, this one flushes to the back, so when you take out the back, there isn't a big and uncomfortable gap. It's also light weight and easy to install. We haven't had a need to wash the covers yet, but it appears to be pretty straightforward. If there are cons, I haven't experienced them yet, or what maybe cons to some, aren't cons to me.

We have four children in car seats and have worked our way through nine different seats. Although I have yet to find a seat that I can give all five of my Stars to, this is by far the top high back booster I have encountered so far in the following categories: 1. Weight. Because we travel regularly, I really appreciate having a seat that is not 20 lb but offers the same stability and protection that a heavier seat can offer. We have used all-in-one seats that function as a high back booster when the child is large enough, but the weight is so significant that they become nearly impossible to travel with. On the flip side, we have used a little bitty boosters that collapse down to just about nothing or a single solid lightweight seat, but the amount of protection for side impact is obviously completely lacking. At the weight of the seat, it offers amazing protection even compared to the five point harness booster / forward facing seat that our little one was in previously. This is probably a third of the weight, narrower footprint which allows for a little better fit in the car, and offers the same amount of comfort. 2. Ease of use. I will be honest that this is the place that this booster and most other boosters we have used lose a star. The issue maybe the way our children pull the buckles, but it seems to be nearly impossible to keep the Buckle threaded through the shoulder guide. Nearly every time my 7 years old buckles and unbuckles herself, the shoulder strap manages to disentangle itself from the guide. 3. Fit in a three across situation. I tested five different configurations of three across in the back of our minivan and this booster is the best option for our biggest kid to fit the three across structure. It was traded out with a larger seat and suddenly three across became feasible again. To be fair, the other two seats in this configuration are a very narrow all in one which is in the center position and a very adjustable high back seat belt guiding booster which was set to the narrowest possible settings for both hip and shoulder width, but that is the correct configuration for our next child anyway. As soon as he gets a little bigger, we would no longer be able to do three across with this booster and would require something a bit more narrow or will need to move one of the children to the captain's chair in the middle row of the minivan. Across the board, though, this is a seat I would select to purchase over and over again for use in our travels, and the seats I used to travel are the seats I want for every day so that our children are used to them. I don't want to sacrifice safety by giving up the side protection of a high back booster in favor of something more collapsible or smaller, either for day-to-day use or to put on the plane with us for use elsewhere. And this is the perfect fit for both of those situations!

I will say this particular seat is easy to install, has neutral colors, and has the cup holders that fold in, which we love. However, my knock is the durability. This seat does feel a bit flimsy on the back and I think that is more common with boosters that can transition to being backless. For the price point of this seat, I think the quality fits. We have other seats that feel more durable but they are easily twice the cost. I plan to continue using this booster as a back up for play date friends, babysitters, grandparents, etc. I would recommend this seat to other parents as a good option for a lower point and for those that want to be able to transition the same booster seat to a backless booster seat. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Graco Turbobooster Extend 2-in-1 Booster Seat is the first true booster that my family has used - the other converted from rear and forward facing five point harness to booster. The Turbobooster is much more lightweight and therefore easier to move from one car to the other. It’s super easy to install, and I love that it includes LATCH connections. The adjustable headrest is easy to raise/lower and the hide-away cupholders are very convenient. I found that changing it between high-back booster and backless booster is a simple, user-friendly process. My child finds the seat quite comfortable and has no problems properly buckling in. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with the Turbobooster Extend - with two youngsters, we’ll be using this seat for years to come.
