We must own at least 20 "neck pillows" of all types imaginable, since falling asleep whilst sitting up during long periods of travel creates a huge problem in that no real rest is accomplished due to the frequent, jarring awakenings that occur when the head pitches forward suddenly. The shape, highly supportive material, and soft cover of the Temper-Pedic neck pillow is of excellent quality, far-exceeding in functionality the many other brands/types we have tried. I have found that my problem is my head pitching forward, therefore I face the open-end either right or left, if i am able to lean one way or the other, or behind my neck if i must sit straight-up. A button on one side of the gap with a piece of soft fabric containing several buttonholes attached to the opposite side of the gap that could form a bridge across the open end would be the only improvement i would suggest. Before my next trip I plan to add one myself. Kudos on producing a superior product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So it may have been a dream but this is what I remember. Trying out my travel pillow for the first time was sublime. It's like I could snooze and eat without a crick in my neck or food running down my chest. It was a fantasty experience.

I took it on a travel excursion to Alaska. It was easy to pack in the limited luggage I was allowed to bring. I have discomfort in my neck and shoulders and using pillows when traveling is painful, this was a great solution. Highly recommend for traveling. I have regular tempur-Pedic pillows at home

I (shared) w/family and friends, and gave all away but the two for myself. And the neck pillow was for my daughter-in-law for travel. It has helped her tremendously. This was the absolute WORST travel pillow I've ever felt. I'm going on a long flight so I decided to splurge on a tempur-pedic neck pillow. Worst mistake ever. It's extremely firm and feels like it's choking my neck. Worst of all, tempurpedic doesn't allow returns on anything other than a bed. I'm so upset that I'm stuck with this travel pillow. You're better off going to a discount store and buying a cheaper version there.

This pillow is NOT a travel pillow. I bought one for a friend and he had the same issues. It is much too thick and it is too tight around the throat. On the plane, the pillow forced my head forward, i could not relax back into the pillow as it is too thick and classic temperpedic firm. I only use it for reading in bed- the pillow does an excellent job of supporting my head and cervical spine. After about 10 minutes, I ah e to remove it as the ends of the pillow push into my throat. Way too much money for a product that isn't useable as a travel pillow. Perhaps if temperpedoc rescued the amount of foam in the pillow it would work.

I bought this a couple of weeks ago at Brookstone and let me tell you, my wife's been using it all the time in the car. Very nice she said. Of course, I never got the chance to use it because I'm the one driving. I bet you, she'll bring it when we travel by air (Domestic or International).

Bought this travel pillow and now my kids fight over it as well. Nothing else can compare to the feel and the support you will get for your neck. Definitely buying more for the family!

I had high hopes for this pillow as I need to bring a comfortable small pillow with me when I travel. Love my Cloud pillows. But this pillow is hard as a rock. Does not conform to the name "comfort". So deeply disappointed. I absolutely cannot sleep on this hard pillow and cannot return it. Tempurpedic needs to completely redesign this product. I wasted my money on this purchase.

I used it on a long overseas trip and my experience was simply " painful" as it was hard to lay my neck comfortably; it actually caused me the worst neck ache. When I called customer services to return the second unopened pillow ( still brand new) they declined as it's the company policy! Super unhappy with my purchase this time, and I would say it's a waste of money! Very surprised with Tempurpedic return policy.
