However, I was surprised she ate it and came back begging for another one! I couldn't believe it. I tried to get a picture of her eating it, but it disappeared too quickly. We made her give us all kisses after and it was a much more pleasant experience than normal! Will absolutely buy these for her!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not going to sugarcoat this: my dog was not thrilled with these. They have the look, weight and feel of a styrofoam peanut. Add to that a strong minty aroma, all of which did not win my dog over. He took one from me, gnawed on it for several seconds but ended up depositing it onto the kitchen floor, filled with tooth holes. So not sure if it was the texture or the strong minty aroma that didn’t appeal to him but I was not surprised he didn’t take to them.

They are also a very strange consistency… like a hard and chewy spongey cheese puff that was left out for a week. My dog was very reluctant to eat it because of the strong peppermint smell. He eventually did, but only because I called it a treat. The recommended amount for a 50 pound dog is 14 treat daily, so I can’t imagine these would be very cost effective long-term. It did mildly mask his horrible breath for a little while, but I definitely would not buy these on my own.

I like that it took two out of three of my chihuahuas some time to chew them, since the longer they chew, the better they work. The recommended doses are interesting though, so it could be expensive if you have large dogs.

He sniffed one, turned his head, and walked away—which is saying something, because he’s usually not picky with treats. They have a bit of minty smell, which might be great for breath, but clearly wasn’t appealing to him. I can’t speak to how well they work for dental health since he wouldn’t eat them, but for dogs who are sensitive to strong scents or flavors, these might be a miss. I love the idea behind them and the ingredients look good, but sadly, they just weren’t a hit in my house.

Our larger dog (photo) is not as much of a fan, which is how I was able to take this pic with such self control! She will play with them and have fun sniffing them, but doesn’t like to eat them. They are definitely not for picky dogs in my opinion because they are so minty. They are the texture of a wafer so easy to chew, but won’t clean teeth off in my opinion-just freshen breath.
