Initial setup easy and works fine. This fits into a cabinet. The vents are primarily on the bottom. New feature for us: defrosting by specifying weight. Compared to similar 1.6 cubic ft Panasonic model, the interior is a little taller and a tad narrower, the power is about the same (1150w for GE and 1200w for the Panasonic), and the turntable is smaller (13.5" for GET and 15" for Panasonic). The white interior and bright interior light are superior to the grey interior and minimal LED light of the Panasonic.

This is the 2nd (identical) GE countertop microwave that we've had. Loved the previous one that was purchased during the pandemic and used it multiple times every day. Size, power, and features were perfect for our needs. Wish it had lasted longer than 4 1/2 years, but that seems to be the norm for so many appliances today. Luckily, with a sale, we paid the same price as before, which is amazing given the price increases on almost everything nowadays! Highly recommend.

I installed this unit a few days ago, so this is an initial impression. I generally go to "CR" for recommendations on appliances, and the GE of this size was middling rated. I first purchased a highly rated unit, which failed after two days and was returned; that brand also felt very cheap and plastic-y. I went to "BB" to look at other brands, and the GE was heavier (more metal, less plastic), and the door mechanism was far superior than the others on display. TBH, no microwave oven heats evenly, so my main concern was quality of build, and the GE felt much more solid than the others. Time will tell on how well this unit holds up, but I'm initially very pleased.

I am giving GE a 3 because I have only this product a day and you are already asking me to review it. I am also giving GE a 3 because their last microwave which was model#JES1657DM1WW was installed on 7/1/20 and it lasted until 2/14/25 where it had an electrical problem which caused it to start on its own when it was plugged in. I'm not sure what the average life of a microwave is today but I am not impressed.

I have had an over the range microwave for years, which I have not liked. Too difficult to reach up to remove things from the unit. Finally, I got a new countertop microwave and I love it! I has several special choices such as 'beverage' that automatically heats water to just the right temperature for hot tea. Easy to use and cooks everything just right.

Dislike this unit. I’ve had microwaves before without the glass door fogging up between the glass panels. Was told by dealer was not normal, yet mfg says is fine. It is awful to clean because inside is not flat, it has pockets I guess you’d call it. Also when heating things up, the food cools down too quickly. When using my older microwave for 2 minutes for a cup of tea, it stays hot for awhile. This new model when heating tea for same time, cools down the tea much quicker. It’s odd I know but it’s true 🥴

MICROWAVE IS NICE. DOOR SEEMS A LITTLE TINNY BUT OVERALL SEEMS WELL BUILT. CONTROL PANEL IS KIND OF HARD TO READ. HAS GOOD POWER COMPARED TO OLD ONE WE HAD FROM SEARS. HOPEFULLY IT WILL LAST AS LONG. HAD TO PUT RUBBER CIRCLES UNDER FEET TO KEEP IT FROM SLIDING ON SHELF WE HAVE IT ON SINCE IT SLIDES VERY EASILY.

Love this microwave, looks simple but classy and works well. However, the first one sterilized its final batch of baby bottles after about 6 years of use. We took a chance and bought another one because it matches our other appliances and we liked it other than that!

Our 8 year old GE microwave failed last night. Searching for the old model number, this model showed up with similar features. Slightly deeper in size but fits in our cabinet fine. Controls are the same as the old unit but rearranged slightly. The only negative issue pertains to illumination. The panel display and the internal light are much dimmer.

What a great looking little work horse. This micro cooks food fast. You really get a lot of bang for the buck. The material seems pretty durable so far ( I have the item for one month at the time of this review) and it's metal and glass not plastic. Love that there is an indicator beep to remind you that there is something in the microwave. I'm very happy with the purchase.
