Don't overthink it - just buy it. Our first microwave when we got married was a GE, which lasted us a long time. We then bought a Magic Chef, which used to be a good brand, but now is only mediocre at best. When the Magic Chef died we went back to GE despite having to purchase it from a dedicated appliance store. Got all of the features back that had been missing with the Magic Chef except for one - you can no longer disable the beep. It's not a deal breaker, and I like the fact that GE keep the ability to cancel the beep at the end of a heating or timer cycle.

I had to replace my Panasonic Gemini microwave for a larger pocket space and the GE dimensions were the best available for that space, and much to my delight the upgraded features are very helpful. The power levels are higher than the replaced model so there is a learning curve to adjust to. Love the controls and the handsome design. The performance is especially good for corn on the cob.

This is our 3rd GE Microwave over ~25 years ... we use our MW a lot & found that this model is not only perfect size, but has desired power (1100w) & convenience/functionality that we like. With our heavy usage (e.g.,warming cup of coffee, reheating meals, cooking vegetables, etc.), we chose to again replace our last unit with the same model/size/wattage. They usually last 7-10 years, so it's a good buy with all the functionality we need, in a familiar & convenient design. Plus it was on sale, so great price also.

Unreasasonably dark display, keypad lettering and light. I replaced a 15 year old countertop black ge unit for this new black model. I saw some reviews where they said the display and letterig were dark but I figured how bad can it be. Well, it is really, really bad. The interior light is really poor also. If I had seen this in person before ordering, it would have been a dealbreaker. Pics do not really show the issue as the phone canera actually brightens things. If these are concerns fir you, trust me, they are real. Advise loiking for a different model or manufacturer. Just unboxed today, seems to cook ok but the issues described are terrible. I will talk with ge to see if this is a defective unit or something but I fear it is not a defect.... Really, really dark. Bring a flashlight and reading glasses when u get ready to ciok something.

This fast and powerful microwave replaces a similar model from probably 10-15 years ago (latch and power control was faulty)! I am happy with the design and simplicity of use. The magnetized side is useful for hanging things I need to have handy but I wish it was more textured because the magnets slide). I use it on a counter height table which makes it a bit hard to read the button labels which are way below eye level. I will probably add a red dot so I can easily differentiate the power ON and OFF buttons.

Very slick appearance and fits great in our cutout shelf for microwave. All functions, including the sensor cook mode have worked as described.. The back light is a bit dim as noted in other reviews but that does not bother me at all. I disabled the child lock as it is located out of childs reach . I prefer the push button door open feature of this microwave instead of the pull handle door like some others. Our last microwave was a Samsung which lasted exactly 5 years. Hopefully this one will last longer!

Food gets hotter a lot faster than it did in my last microwave, however the sensor options don't work so well. Potatoes do not get cooked in the time allotted for them, and if you use a sensor option, then you must wait 5-10 minutes before using it again, or heating something for longer than a minute, because the machine shuts down. Once something completes, there is only a small repetitive beep to remind you to retrieve the item; I thought my fridge alarm was going off!

Fantastic size, this is my 2nd one. However, the only thing frustrating factor is that this new model has a very light digital clock and I can't read it across my kitchen as I could with my original model. All the functions are easy and great! Would buy it again...and I have!

The child lock is another step to do and for households without kids... it's really unnecessary. It should be quick in and out. No more other buttons to press. It's hard for those with vision problems. I don't like the loud sound when I close the door of the microwave. I feel I can't use it when people are sleeping.

The first one we bought stopped working after two uses. We bought the "black stainless"but it didn't match our other black stainless appliance from GE...it was more of a silver color. It wasn't near my other appliances, so it wasn't a big deal. But when it stopped working, we returned it and purchased the same microwave in black. This one is working fine, but it has an odd sound for the first few seconds and it really runs loud. Just wondering how long this one will last?!?! If it gives trouble, I will not buy GE again.
