Juicy chicken

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got to get this for free for my honest opinion! I am so glad I got to try this! It comes in a huge pack of chicken so we cooked half and froze the rest for later. We baked them with bbq rub and layered bbq sauce on top and oh my gosh these were the most juicy pieces of chicken! I will definitely buy more! I ate it for 3 days straight!

Too much Fat and Skin

I like the thighs I’ve always gotten at Sam’s but this are not like the ones from before They are packed in 4 individual bags, different sizes in each and sometime 4 or 5 or 6 in a pack LOTS of skin n fat - LOTS! The only way I’d buy them again is if I boil and debone they do not make a nice plating portion They are cheap though and I made a great broth

Best chicken thighs EVER!!!

These are the BEST chicken thighs!!! They are vacuum sealed in small portions of two to three pieces (depending on size) each within the larger package to keep them fresh longer! No more needing to open a big package of chicken just to portion it out to be frozen! So much less fuss because that work is already done for you!!! I just toss what I'm not going to use right away directly into the freezer with no additional effort on my part needed! If I was going to freeze it for months I might stick it in an extra freezer bag just to be sure it was protected but the plastic it comes in is already fairly thick. We generally use it in a week or two though. It also only has the one thigh bone still left in it. No extra anything still sticking to it - adding dead weight to your total purchase price and causing you to pick around more bones and gristle that you can't even eat in order to prepare it. There is enough skin left to cover the meat, and keep it moist, while cooking but not so much that you need to trim the excess. There are no big pockets of fat clinging to them that you need to scrape away either!! Just good meat and one single bone. These are EXCELLENT and ECONOMICAL chicken thighs and I will never buy anything else again!!

Loving the new saddle pack packaging!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the new saddle pack packaging for Members Mark Chicken thighs. This new packaging gave me the opportunity to place it my deep freezer without taking up a lot of room. You are able to cut the packaging into four separate packaging (if you choose). In each section, it holds three pieces of chicken thighs so you can prepare four separate meals or you can prepare the whole package. The chicken thighs are a nice size and not too much fat to clean and they do have to bone in each one. One dish that I prepared was some barbecue chicken (photo) and it was delicious.

Not the Same Quality

My husband is livid. We have been getting chicken thighs from Sam's for years. But since they have switched to this new packaging, which my husband also hates, the quality has gone down significantly. He thinks they're using scraps and throwing them in with normal pieces. I wish I had taken pictures. We won't be buying anymore, so I won't ever have any pictures of the mess he had to deal with.

You may have to remove some feathers and excess fat.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I after I cleaned it up , (as you can see, it still had Feathers attached to it!) and seasoned the chicken thighs, I seared them and set them to the side. Then I sweated some onions, garlic, and peppers. I then made my own Alfredo sauce to go with some angel hair pasta and beef sausage rounds. I had to cut off some fat and removed the skin. There was more than enough for my husband, my daughter and myself to eat for dinner. I think you have so much versatility with these thighs, that it is great!

Dreadful packaging, slimy goo, uneven sizing.

My heart sank when I went to Sam's for my weekly chicken fix and the only option was bags of jumbled chicken pieces. I hate those things for so many reasons! I went ahead and bought a pack, but they were as bad as I expected. You have to cut each bag open with scissors, then transfer the thighs to a tray or plate to sort out what you're working with (instead of leaving them in the styrofoam tray). Next, you have to de-slime them and toss the drippy bag and absorption pad in the trash. Finally you have to sort out the sizes, because they vary wildly. During roasting, the chicken released so much fluid (aka "retained water") that they were swimming in a puddle by the end of the cooking time. Steamed chicken thighs--yum! I've been buying the ones in the styrofoam trays from Sam's for decades, and they were the best around. It's so easy to start cooking when the thighs are neatly laid onto the tray, not to mention reasonably dry. It was easy to glance and see how many were in a package, and they were all pretty close to the same size. I won't be buying chicken at Sam's any more unless they bring the old ones back. : (

Pathetic product

Pathetic substitution for previous product. Subpar quality. Inconsistent pieces broken bones making even cooking all but impossible. Extremely disappointing. Have given these new packages several tries and after many years of using yhe previous package. I am being forced to search for another supplier for a more consistent product. I have been a very loyal Sam's customer for over 40 years. This product is so subpar, it may cauae me to rethink my membership.

Great Quality for the Price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like how these chicken thighs are packaged in separate sections because I don't always need to cook the whole pack at once. I used them to make a Cajun roasted casserole dish and they turned out juicy and full of flavor. I served them with Brussels sprouts and brown rice and everyone enjoyed them. The quality was good and I think the pack is a great value for the price. I would definitely buy these again.

Not What They Used to Be

While the price is good and they taste good when cooked, the sizes are not proportional. Some are the size they used to be, most are small, so I am buying more bones and less meat. The processing removes much of the skin. Would like the previously sold product back.
