It keeps the shavings from clogging the heads as in the past ones I have had. The only complaint is the trimmer is not coarse enough. My last one was way too coarse. The one two times ago was just right! Don't ask me the model, I don't remember.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Shaver worked from beginning. With a full charge, I can shave for around 10 days -- more than a week but less than two weeks. I find that my older Braun often shaves closer, but not enough difference to matter for me. No skin irritation from Philips. I clean with the brush after every shave and use the company product for a deeper cleaning when I am ready to recharge.

Using the pop-up trimmer is difficult because it is hard to avoid the on/off button when using it. Also, you need to use at an angle, it will cut off--it is not possible to get the trim needed when the trimmer must be perpendicular. In general the design is not as good as Philips Norelco S6810.
