It is ready to use right out of the box. A few minutes after switching it on, could see a couple of fruit flies trapped, so it does what it is supposed to do.

The design is slick and sophisticated and it acts as a night light displaying a soft blue color. It works well trapping a variety of insects in the kitchen. I do wish the cartridges lasted longer than 14 days. I would recommend this product for the hot summer months.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don't know why there are so many little flies in my apartment these days. They're very annoying, but these are little flies. They've been very effective; they trap any little bugs that get inside.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. What I like about the Stem brand insect light trap is it does exactly what it says it does. It's also a very attractive looking modern design with a nice blue light and it does not take up much space. I also like that it says it's people and pet friendly with no insecticides. It actually works really great! What I didn't like is it's a little bit pricey and it requires a refillable sticky trap that is called a dual sided cartridge that you have to buy when the first one is full of dead bugs. But it's well designed and effective.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had the STEM Flying Insect Light Trap plugged in for about 3 days and it’s only caught one small gnat. A little underwhelming so far, but I’m expecting it to be more effective once summer hits and the fruit gnats and mosquitoes are out in full force. It was super easy to set up, runs quietly, and doesn’t take up much space. I’ll update my review if performance picks up in warmer months, but for now it feels like it hasn’t had a fair test yet.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] No more mosquito buzz or any annoying flies. The Stem Flying Insect Light trap is a very easy to set up device. In 4 steps this device is ready to be used. I love how the light that it has is blue appealing to all flying insects but also very subtle for people and pet's eyes. Im a very sensitive person with pesticides and this trap has no odor and provides a mess free solution for everyday insects. They only thing I didn't love about the product it's that the beginner kit only brings one refill trap and not 2 to allow you to test the product further and to keep you prepared for when you need to replace the refill! Overall it's a 10/10 and very efficient
