Be sure to clean this water cooler thoroughly. Fill with water and pull out the plugs to rinse. This Frigidaire water cooler is fantastic, it gets cold immediately after you hook it up, and as for hot water, it gets very hot. So be careful not to burn yourself. The ice maker makes ice fast. All components work absolutely great. I give it 5 stars, and highly recommend everyone to have this in their home.

This looks nice and makes ice quickly. You need to clean it out very well at first or your water and ice will taste bad, sort of a plastic and metallic taste. That's no problem. It also makes cold water and works very well EXCEPT for the awful child lock. I can't get it to dispense hot water because I can't disengage the child lock. I've tried multiple fixes that have promised to work. Absolutely nothing worked. I've unplugged and cleared the memory. Held the lock button down repeatedly and never got the beeps that happen when the lock is off. So, all is all, I can get fast ice- and ice-cold water. But the hot water function is useless. Not worth 300 dollars at this time. I've contacted Frigidaire and I believe that they're supposed to give me a call back within 2 business days. The girl in customer service was very helpful, but it was hard for me to understand her. This was no fault of her own. But I hope that I do get the call-back. Otherwise, I'm stuck with a partially functioning dispenser. I have osteoarthritis and will not be taking this back to Sam's. At this price, I could have just put a jug of water in the fridge and chilled it and got a countertop ice maker. I understand the need for child proof locks, but Frigidaire's child locks are the thing of nightmares. Seriously, there should be an easier way to unlock these appliances without having to call in a service tech.

I was really excited to purchase this water cooler because of the built-in ice maker. It seemed like the perfect all-in-one solution, but unfortunately, it didn’t meet my expectations. The biggest surprise was that the ice maker is not a freezer. This wasn’t clearly stated in the product description. Once the ice basket fills up, the ice begins to melt if you don’t remove it and transfer it to a freezer. That means you have to continually empty the basket, which adds an extra step and defeats the convenience of having an integrated ice maker. Another disappointment was the size. The unit is much shorter than I expected, so it has a smaller footprint than it appears in the photos. The ice basket is also located on the top of the unit, which takes away what could have been useful countertop or storage space. Additionally, there’s an opening around the ice basket where lint and dust can easily fall into the compartment. Since the cold and hot water dispensing area is within that same compartment, it raises concerns about dust and debris entering the area where drinking water is dispensed. One concern I saw in other reviews was the child lock. I personally didn’t experience any issues with it. If you follow the instructions—hold the lock button for about three seconds, then press the hot water button—it works as intended. You can dispense both hot and cold water without any issues. Overall, I think the concept is great, but the execution fell short for me. The lack of a freezer function, the small size, and the design of the ice compartment were significant enough that I decided to return the unit the day after receiving it. I hope Frigidaire considers these design improvements in a future version because it has the potential to be an excellent product.

The water dispensed taste like plastic for over a week and we drink a lot of water. We had to throw away so much water because the taste was disgusting. I had return the product.

Ice maker only worked once! Stopped making ice after one time. It would say to refill the water for the ice making, and it would be to the top of water.
