[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used many types of protein drinks since I had my bariatric surgery almost 6 years ago. I need to keep my protein intake up. This one ranks in the middle for taste. Not chalky, but I felt it could have used a little bit more chocolate flavor. The amount of protein is really good at 33g. Also it only has 3g of sugar. Good product, not great for my taste.

For me, who am not such a lover of chocolate, the taste was good since it doesn't taste so much like chocolate. The texture is very light and easy to swallow.

They taste pretty good and have enough protein to keep me full for a while. My husband usually drinks chocolate milk after working out and has switched to using these. Overall, they're a hit in our family.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This chocolate pro high protein shake from Muscle Milk is great! It tastes good- isn't too thick and doesn't leave an aftertaste. Pretty easy to quickly get 33g of high quality protein in your body. Will be purchasing again.

As usual when a company changes a recipe or is offering a tweak to its line up of products, they fail. The original which we bought many times from Sam's was great. Great Chocolate flavor. This is not, no chocolate flavor, will not recommend, nor we need to find another brand.

SO DISAPPOINTMENT WITH THE “IMPROVED” FORMULA! It tastes like a weak, watered-down chocolate drink, not at all like a shake. I WILL be changing to another brand after being a regular consumer of Muscle Milk Chocolate Shake formula for over 8 years! I drank one every day, sometimes two. I'll drink the rest of the pack I purchased like I would drink medicine, but will not be purchasing more! Gave the product 2 stars only because it's still nutritious, even though it's no longer sugar-free.

I see a lot of complaints about the flavor but honestly it's super mild. It's mildly sweet and mildly chocolately without any strong chemical or bitter tastes. I'm personally a much bigger fan of this Muscle Milk than the old version. In fact I've had lots of protein shakes worse than this. It's easy to drink, it has 33 grams of protein, and doesn't include sucralose, acesulfame potassium, or aspartame all of which mess with my gut. 9/10 protein shakes and bars include one of those 3 so when a product comes out that I can safely consume, it's awesome. These use stevia which is great, and from what I can tell, not a lot of it. It has 11 grams of carbs including 3g of naturally occurring sugar and 2g of fiber. It's ultra filtered milk, there are going to be carbs in it. 9g of net carbs is basically nothing. Even though I'm on a severe carb restriction, those macros are perfectly fine for me especially considering its insane nutrient density and low cost per gram of protein. Typical protein foods will cost around 10¢ per G of protein whereas these work out to 5¢ per gram of my math is correct. This will be one of the only 3 protein shakes I go for now, so I'm glad Sam's has started carrying it so I can get it for a good price. Anyway, I felt the need to offset all the complaints happening because at the end of the day, it's a protein shake. It's a utility. The fact that it tastes even halfway decent is a blessing. If I want something super delicious, decadent, and indulgent, I'll go buy a milkshake and take the calorie and nutritional hit. Not everything has to be the most palatable thing in existence. Insipid taste, tastes nothing like the regular 25 g muscle milk chocolate protein shake. I bought this 33g version of the product because Sam's was out of my regular muscle milk. I will try to use up this purchase by mixing it with regular chocolate muscle milk.
