As per the title, the bed is super comfortable, but the VOCs have been such a major problem for me, I'm going to have to return it. Did a lot of research and read several blog reviews before settling on Purple. After unpacking, I let the bed air out for several hours (open windows/fans running). My #1 concern was sleeping hot - after a few days, I wasn't any hotter than on my old spring mattress. Comfort level was fantastic, I really liked the look of the exterior cover, and motion transfer was very low. All big positives, I was very happy... Until I left on a long trip and returned. I noticed the smell was still present, and I developed a cough overnight. I assumed I picked something up on my travels, until it persisted for weeks. I left the windows open daily, I ran a box fan blowing directly at the bed, I even purchased a Hepa air purifier and ran it constantly in the bedroom. Nothing worked. If I stayed a night or two away from home, the cough went away, when I went home, it returned. All coinciding with the delivery date of my new mattress. I had a very similar problem with VOCs years ago with a new carpet, with the same symptoms. I am really disappointed and share this as a reference point for others who may be sensitive to off-gassing. It's entirely possible I just got an outlier, or manufacturing defect that was more extreme. I recommended it to two other people, who both purchased and love it without any issues. I liked the mattress so much, I kept trying to find solutions. But ultimately, after owning the mattress for two months, I can't wait any longer.

After returning a box mattress of another brand due to it being too firm, we decided to give Purple a go. Due to a head injury/surgery, I have only been sleeping on my right side for the last year. This mattress is so ideal for side sleepers and I couldn't be happier with it. It's somehow firm and soft all at the same time. I thought the grid would have a more distinct feeling, but I don't notice it much, yet the stability of it just seems better than traditional memory foam. Also, my chiropractor has made less adjustments to my back, and I think it truly is because my back is staying better aligned.

I have had my bed for about 3 months and absolutely love it. Started out with tshirt sheet but went back to Purple and bought the purple sheets. Those are awesome. I also bought the mattress protector and I am a bit disappointed in it. It did a great job of protecting mattress when I spilled my drink , however I washed according to directions and am very disappointed that it came out with a small burn mark. I suggest complete air dry n this product. I informed the company but they just said some dryers are hotter than others. But the Bed is absolutely the best I would give it a 10 plus.

My husband and I were having a lot of body aches and we knew it was because of our old mattress. I was looking for mattresses that would fit our budget and our needs. I was actually going to get a memory foam type mattress, but the have reputation for being hot and loosing shape overtime. I stumbled upon reviews of purple and was quite interested. After much discussion with my husband, we purchased the original type. My hips stopped hurting as much as they used to, my back feels much better. My husband falls asleep much faster and for all night (unless I wake him up). What took is by surprise was, we didn't realize how hot our last bed was! This mattress allows your whole body to breathe. I don't wake up in the middle of the night because heat and my husband doesn't sweat while sleeping! We got it with the mattress protector and let me tell you, it's worth it! It doesn't have a plastic feel. Its stretchable and it definitely protects. Also paired with the purple blankets. Amazing bes! I can't wait until I'm able to purchase their pillow! I need new pillows.

We've had our king size PURPLE bed for 3 weeks now. After the first night my husband said his shoulder/rotator cuff didn't hurt and that's the first time in years! I'm a school bus driver and the spot between my shoulder blades is ALWAYS tight. It is no longer right after sleeping on my PURPLE bed! I recommend this bed to all. When I ordered it, I ordered it from my IPad and didn't see the size options.(2"-3"-4" depth). We received the 2". This bed is just perfect for us. I wonder what the feel difference would have been...doesn't matter now since we are keeping our PURPLE bed! They are correct when they tell you it weighs 140 lbs. plan ahead. It unwrapped very easy too. Good luck!

This bed only took 1 night to get used to. Initially, I thought it lacked the comfy, cozy feeling but I was asleep in less then 10 minutes and I did not hurt the next morning. My husbands snoring has been cut down by at least 1/2. I was nervous about this purchase, especially because I live in Alaska and I'm not even going to discuss how much it was to ship up here, but I have no regrets at all. It's perfect!

I have slept on many different kinds of mattresses; regular pillow tops, air mattresses (sleep number), and Tempurpedic. Other than the tempurpedic, I have always had a 2 inch memory foam topper on my mattresses, but the Purple mattress is by far my favorite. I used to wake up with pain in my shoulders and hips, and my husband was plagued by lower back pain. The first morning after having our Purple mattress, we woke up with more energy than we have had in years. I know they say your body takes time to adjust, but this mattress has been perfectly comfortable from the beginning. When first sitting on the Purple, it seems like it might be too firm, but when you actually lay down you can feel different parts of your body sink in while other parts, like your feet, feel like they're floating. The only downside to this mattress is having to get out of it. There have been a few occasions where I have stayed in bed all day because I was just too comfortable to be bothered to get up. My husband and I tend to move a lot in our sleep, but this mattress doesn't transfer all the movement. It transfers some, but it is barely noticeable. I also tend to sleep in all styles, and have found that they are all comfortable, rather than being confined to one comfortable position to get to sleep. Overall, this mattress is everything it boasts. It is worth every penny, and then some. I would definitely recommend the Purple mattress to anyone who sleeps. My senior dog also seem to greatly enjoy sleeping on the Purple as well.

I love this mattress, of course I was skeptical to make such a large purchase and not even be able to touch the mattress first but I went ahead and went for it. I am so glad that I did. My back hurt for the first few days, I guess from the change but now I sleep better than I ever have and feel so refreshed in the mornings. I got the pillow as well and love it. I've always had to have a down pillow but now prefer my purple pillow over my down, it is so soft.

We had a sleep number bed which never lived up to the hype which made me a little skeptical of the Purple mattress. The guarantee made it feasible to try it out. I was concerned because I prefer firm and my wife likes a more plush feel. We've had the Purple about two weeks and we've both slept like the dead. My wife's back issues have all but gone away. My only regret is that the price of the Power Base was just a little too high so I had to shop for an alternative.

I have had my share of beds from different brands but so far this bed has been my absolute favorite!!! I really is hard to get out of bed because it is comfortable! I would recommend a bed from purple to anyone who is in need of a new bed. It is not to hard or to soft it fits your body really well.
