We received our Purple in December of last year and the first few nights were heavenly. Shortly thereafter, a family emergency called me away and I didn't spend much of the first 100 days sleeping on it - but when I did, it seemed pretty comfortable. Once I was back home again and had recovered from the sheer exhaustion of dealing with my mom's passing and everything that followed, my husband and I found that it just wasn't that comfortable for us. We were both waking up with our arms asleep and hips aching. The problem was, our 100 day trial period had expired. A new mattress isn't in the budget, but now, here we are -- just eight months in - considering buying something else or adding some type of topper to it. We've also relegated our Purple pillows to our office chairs, as they were too stinky and heavy to sleep on.

This review is specifically for people that want a "cool" mattress as they sleep through the night. Had the purple mattress for a little over a month now. Wife and I sleep with a ceiling fan on, stand fan on and thermostat set at 70 degrees or cooler during the night. So far the mattress does not sleep cool, if anything just opposite. It sleeps on the warmer side more than anything. On a scale of 1 - 10 with 10 being the mattress sleeps really cool, I would give it a score of 4. When you first lay down on it, it feels great, it's really cool and what I would expect but after a couple of hours if you wake up, you feel like there is a heating pad set on low under you. Hope this helps anyone who is a hot sleeper and is looking for a bed to keep them cooler during the night.

The mattress is lovely and well-made, but I found it's a little on the firm side for me. I'm a side-sleeper with wider hips and shoulders. The mattress actually felt great on my hips, but didn't have quite enough give under my shoulders. My husband, also a side sleeper, felt the same way. We returned the mattress after sleeping on it for three weeks. Customer service was superb, exceptionally helpful and efficient.

I have tried many matresses over the years, Soft Side Water, Std Coil, Coil w/ Memory Foam Top, Std Sleep Number, Sleep Number w/ Cool Gel Memory Foam, Latex and now Purple for the last 3 weeks. The Purple has no pressure points for side sleeping, but has a firm feel to keep you fairly straight. It is like no other mattress I have ever used. So far it is fenominal, it has relieved my low back muscle pain and is begining to relieve my hip discomfort also. I would definitely reccomend trying this mattress, I do not think you will be disapointed if you prefer a firmer mattres w/o any pressure points.

I would highly recommend this mattress to anyone who asked me. The quality is apparent from the moment you set it up. All the information about this mattress has lived up to the Purple website descriptions. I've had many great nights of comfortable sleep since I began using my new Purple mattress!

I really wanted to like this mattress. I got a few good nights of sleep on it but less than 2 months of having it, I started experiencing major hip and back pain. I had a really old mattress before and I was never had pain like I did on the Purple. It also slept VERY hot. So hot that I would wake up in the middle of the night in a pool of sweat. I followed all of the recommendations; the platform base, stretchy sheets, mattress cover. I gave it two stars because your customer service is great.

I've slept on the mattress for about a month now. I weigh about 170lbs and am in good shape - the heavy parts of my body sink in (mid section and waist), and my arms/feet/head don't. For this reason, I can't sleep on my stomach, and sleeping on my back pushes my arms up restricting blood flow to my arms and hands. Also, I can already feel an impression forming. That being said, it does keep cool and sleeping on my side is ok. My wife likes it a lot because it is so soft. This mattress should cost half of the price it is listed at.

We haven't had a mattress that we loved since our dog ate our soft sided waterbed fourteen years ago. We had an expensive pillow top and memory foam and they were just not quite right. This mattress is FANTASTIC and we're getting the best sleep we've had in a VERY LONG time!

My husband now sleeps like a baby. I still have to turn a few times during the night as I have inflammatory Arthritis. I probably would have done better with the 3" Ultra, instead of the regular Purple, as it is a little firm for me, but it was for our RV, and it does support my back better. All in all, so glad we got it!

I LOVE my Purple. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. But I am currently having some body heat issues that may be unrelated, although they are different from what I experienced before. I am going to try different sheets on the bed (I am using the Purple ones) to see if that makes a difference. BUT - when I wake up I can get out of bed with out feeling stiff, NOTHING hurts and even my old ankles are working just fine. LOVE the bed, hoping the heat issues I'm having are from the sheets.
