The Purple Mattress was comfortable the moment I layed on it. As a side sleeper, I didn't realize that our prior spring mattress didn't relieve pressure points until I had the comparison...what a difference. After a couple of nights, I felt it was as warm as our prior mattress (something I hoped would change). When I called customer service, a really nice lady suggested I put the Purple mattress cover & Purple stretchy sheets on the mattress because she could tell me from firsthand experience that it would made a difference. They arrived a week after the mattress because I had forgotten to include the code on my order, good news again on customer service is they sent them after I realized I hadn't received with the mattress! She was right, first night with the cover & stretch sheets and I slept cooler and more comfortable. Well done Purple!

I previously had a memory foam mattress with an additional cool gel topper. I'm recovering from major surgery & weight loss. I have to worry about pressure sores. The Purple is by far the best, most comfortable mattress I've ever owned! I bought the original Purple. Whether I sleep on my side, or on my back, I feel total support from head to toe, yet it's soft. I've never felt that before. I feel like I'm sleeping on a cloud. I sleep more sound, and it eases my pain level. So much comfort you won't want to crawl out of bed. And, I absolutely look forward to going back to bed!

Our purple mattress is pretty good... My wife likes it more than I do, it is too soft for me. I had to put some extra support (3/4 inch plywood) under my half of the bed so I didn't sink in as deeply. I am 6 feet tall/220 lbs and without the extra support it was not comfortable at all. Now it is ok. One great thing about the mattress is that it does not seem to retain any heat at all. That is wonderful for a hot sleeper like me.

I have to say that I am not one for writing reviews. I can honestly say I've probably written at most 5 over the last 15 years. But when a product no matter how much or little it costs totally exceeds expectations, then I feel compelled to let everyone know. My wife and I fell in love with this mattress in seconds, literally. I didn't think it was possible but as soon as we laid on it straight out of its awesome packaging, we knew it was a major hit. If you asked me is the mattress firm I would say yes, if you asked me if the mattress is soft I would say yes. It's really one of those things that it's almost impossible to describe how it feels. It doesn't really matter, it is without a doubt the best mattress I have ever slept on. I've had Tempurpedic, Ghostbed, higher end inner spring mattresses, etc. and none of them come close to the Purple. It sleeps so comfortable and temperature neutral, it is pure heaven. Thank you Purple for making that 30% of my life 1000% better!!

We ordered the king mattress and bed frame. It arrived in less than a week. Set up was not as easy as it appears in the video. I struggled slightly with the frame, I was worried for a minute that it was irregular, however, with a little extra effort I got it to fit together. The mattress was extremely heavy and is really a two person job to handle. My husband was home when it arrived and he created a rope system to pull it up the stairs to the second floor for me before he left for work. I took it out of the packaging and after quite a bit of a struggle, I got it on the frame. I really wanted to sleep on it that night and wanted it to be ready for my husband after he had to work a 16 hr shift. Let me tell you, I slept like a baby and when he got home from work he did too! There was no adjustment period for us as we had been sleeping on a high quality memory foam mattress prior. That mattress was a queen and was in need of a new foundation. While searching for a foundation I came across the Purple bed frame and in reading such rave reviews we decided at that time to upgrade to a king and get the mattress as well. It's only been 10 days, but, we are incredibly pleased with this bed. We are both side sleepers and again, we had no adjustment period. I wasn't able to sleep on my back recently due to a flare up of sciatica, however, on this mattress, no problem. Side sleeping, no problem. I'm incredibly comfortable. We would recommend this bed to everyone and are extremely satisfied with our purchase! THANK YOU PURPLE!!!!

First off, the packaging on the mattress had been damaged and taped back up before it was delivered to our house so the special "cutter" for opening the mattress wrapping was not even.in the package. That was definitely underwhelming. Second, we unrolled the mattress onto our bed frame which only had slats since the purple website said a box spring was not required. We sat on the bed a few minutes after unrolling and our butts immediately sank all the way down to the slats under the mattress. I'm not a super heavy guy, not even 200 pounds and my girlfriend is barely 120 and we sank right down into the mattress. If there is a time period where the mattress need a to "inflate " then they need to make that clear in the unwrapping process. We did the raw egg test with the mattress just for fun and it passed but I'm still underwhelmed with the overall delivery and quality considering I was really looking forward to how great this mattress was going to be. It's comfortable, don't get me wrong, I was just expecting more.

We purchased the original Purple mattress. I was so excited, I told everyone! My husband and I both had terrible back pain and aches with our old mattress and had high hopes for our Purple. Initially it seemed fine. We stuck with it trying to get acclimated, but it seems around the 150-200 day mark we were right back to where we were with our old mattress. Sleep is so important and it's really disappointing that we invested in this product and are now stuck with a mattress that's supposed to be with us 10 years and we cannot find relief or comfort.

I have had my king size mattress for two years and I am over 300 lbs and my hubby is 200 lbs and it has been the only platform that has not broken because of my weight. and the mattress is so comfortable that I can finally sleep on my back and it not hurt at all. This is the best bed I could have ever bought and the price is great. I would highly recommend this bed to anyone that is over 300 lbs, the platform will never give out and if you ever have any problems with anything you buy from Purple that have a great warranty department and they take care of the problem extremely fast.

My wife and I love our new purple matress, it is amazing how comfortable we sleep now. At our age waking up without aches and pain from an unforgiving matress is a God send, thank you purple for your technology, no sweeping from a memory foam type, no sore shoulders or hip from a spring type matress and most of all a comfortable sound sleep with out a physical disturbance.

I had a tempurpedic mattress for the last ten years. It was good but way too hot in the summer and it wasn't great for my lower back issues. I got the original purple model (queen) and it's truly temp neutral. It doesn't cool but it doesn't heat up either which is a big improvement from my tempurpedic. Also it's firm but with some cushion in the right spots and my back has been great getting up in the morning from this mattress. I'm 6'2 and 170lbs.
