I have had my Purple Twin XL for about eight months. The fulfillment took a month (21 business days). I was 29 and 160 lbs with about thirty being excess fat. I am now 30 and 175 lb with about 45 being excess fat. I am 5'5" and have very broad shoulders and average hips for a woman. I have been a back sleeper for years with almost no movement during the night, but tend to switch to my side when I'm cold, my lower back is tight, or the bed is uncomfortable. I, also, tend to wake up naturally after 6.6-7.5 hours of good sleep. When the bed is too firm, I tend to sleep for a couple hours on my back, then a couple hours on one side, a couple on the other side, etc., rotating as my hip and shoulder pain wakes me up between deep sleeps. When I first got my Purple, it felt great. I had been sleeping on a 4inch memory foam topper with no mattress for three months so the purple was heavenly. It felt like it really contoured the body and I definitely slept better than I had on the foam topper without a mattress. However, it did not take long before I was sleeping fitfully again. I assumed it was because of my stressful job, then the mono I caught over the winter, and the fact that I was getting older. Now I am older and heavier, but I have a wonderful, less stressful job; I'm always exhausted because I wake up to shift positions four to eight times during the night. After nine hours, I don't want to get out of bed because I'm tired, but my hips are so sore from the bed. I spent the night at a friend's house not long ago and slept perfectly on the pillow top mattress and woke up rested after only six and a half hours. I felt like me again. The Purple is just not soft enough for my taste. I see that Purple has put out new versions of the bed with different thicknesses. Maybe the thicker "all positions" mattress would work better for me. I just don't care to test it right now.

It's been almost 2 months now and I'm not impressed. My back doesn't feel bad but not great and I'm just as tired as before. The raving reviews looked promising so maybe the bar was set too high. I will most likely be returning the mattress to try something else. The mattress is better than the 15 yr old mattress it replaced so it's got that going for it.

Honestly, I wanted to return the mattress after the first week. I am so grateful the return policy makes you wait 21 days (so your body has a chance to adjust to the new mattress) because now my husband and I LOVE it! In fact, I stay at my mom's once a month and loved her mattress compared to my old one and dreaded having to go back home to sleep in my own bed (I know...weird), however, this past weekend when I was there, I didn't love the bed at her house more anymore and I couldn't wait to get home to my Purple mattress!!

I purchased this mattress because I am a big guy (6'1" 240) and sleep hot, and also because I've become accustomed to waking up with back pain. My girlfriend would often remark that sometime during the night, she'd have to retreat to the other side because I get so hot. I've been sleeping on the mattress about a week now, and it's everything that the ads say it is. From the first morning, my back pain was gone. Every night is more comfortable as I adjust to sleeping with support rather than on/in an old, low-quality foam mattress. I'm a skeptical guy who doesn't fall for gimmicks or brand loyalty or most of that mumbo jumbo... but I really love this mattress and will be buying the pillow soon! (Already splurged on the sheets and bought during the free protector promotion).

We tried the Nectar mattress but we still woke up with sore backs. The Purple mattress has been excellent though for both me and my wife. We look forward to coming home after traveling because of our bed. The 100 day trial is a very nice incentive too, so if you don't like it you can get refunded.

We have been getting use to our mattress it is much firmer than our old mattress, love the coolness of this, my husband not so much. The pillows have worked good for us and the sheets are very comfortable. We gave the weighted blanket to our daughter as it was way to heavy for us.

I originally bought this mattress for my daughters house for when I stayed over. Loved the mattress. Had the best sleep ever. When we moved into our new house I purchases another one for a spare bedroom. Recently purchased the 3rd one for another spare bedroom. Everyone that has come over and stayed with us has commented on how comfortable this mattress is. When it's time to replace the one in the master bedroom I will definitely buy a purple mattress. . The cost was also cheaper than what I hadpurchased in the past.

We started with a queen mattress & knew eventually we'd upgrade to a king. When the years passed and time came we didn't even consider other options - we loooove purple so much. I've had back issues almost my entire life and the purple mattress is the only mattress that has ever helped me get a 100% comfortable painless sleep. Highly recommended especially for people with chronic pain!

My fiancee and I purchased the original Purple mattress to replace an 8 year old Stearns and Foster pillow top mattress that was leaving us sore in the morning. I did a lot of research on other boxed/delivered to your door mattresses to include Casper, Leesa, Purple and a few others. Purple definitely had the best marketing and seemed to be the most interesting of any of the alternatives so we went for it. The order process was easy and delivery was fast however setting up the mattress is incredibly difficult despite watching the instructional videos. They are not joking when they say this mattress is heavy. I'm 6ft tall, 230lbs but my fiancee is 5ft 110lbs and it made for a lot of heavy lifting on my end. Anyway, after setting it up and sleeping on it for a few nights I came to the realization that it is a comfortable mattress, it did alleviate the soreness we were experiencing from our old mattress however it did not really live up to its marketing. It is not really life altering as the marketing will have you believe. I'm not necessarily waking up more refreshed or with more energy. I'm not at work counting the hours until I can get back in to bed. It's overall good but not great. I give this mattress 3 1/2 to 4 stars.

We love our new Purple. Like any mattress, it takes a couple weeks to get used to, but once we did we are never going back! It is supportive for both my husband and I who have bad backs, but the purple layer also makes it comfortable at the same time. I would recommend getting a nice new pillow to make sure your neck is aligned properly with this mattress. It is amazing!
