We bought a cali-king bed a few months back, after years of lower-back pain and discomfort. To be candid and honest, the Purple mattress did take some time to get used to - especially for my wife. But once we became accustomed to the very unique feel of the top-layer, we have found the support to be unmatched. Shoulders and hips sink down without backs and necks being pulled out of alignment. The depth of sleep and quality of rest that we're getting every night is definitely much better than with our old mattress (which was a very high-quality, name-brand spring-mattress). We're very happy with the Purple bed, and miss it every time we sleep at a hotel. I also purchased a lower-back cushion for my work chair, which is wonderful. It adapts perfectly to the shape of my back, and gives excellent support through long hours of work. It could be a little bit larger for my preference, but it is excellent for what it is.

My husband and I have been sleeping on a queen size mattress for the past 7 years that is older than our relationship. After constantly rolling over and hitting each other in our sleep, and listening to his snoring over the years, I'd finally had enough. We had seen the ads and gotten a sample of the Purple mattress and I finally decided that we were getting one. When it came in we were so excited! We unrolled it, set up our new bed frame, and slept on it for the first time that night. It. Is. Heaven. I've never slept so well or so deeply in my life! It's so wonderful to wake up in the morning and have virtually no joint pain because the bed supports everything. Even my husband, whose upper vertebrae are locked due to an old sports injury, says his lower back pain is nearly nonexistent after sleeping on this bed. I could not possibly recommend the Purple enough. It's wonderful. You won't regret buying one!

I am a nurse who has bad days where my back feels like it could shatter on me. But this bed helps me so much. Its definitely on the firmer side but honestly I feel that is what helps with my back. Its a great quality mattress and I would recommend it to anyone. It sets up immediately so you don't have to wait days to use. I am also on the thicker side and have yet to notice an indention on the main side I use just because of my Increased use and size that makes other mattresses lumpy.

Started off not liking this mattress. My first impression was that it was too firm. After a few rather restless nights I realized that part of my issue wasn't with the mattress at all but with some new pillows we had ordered at the same time. After I went to a more comfortable pillow, some stiffness I had attributed to the mattress went away. Every night seems a little better. Nice air flow under me, but it still seems slightly to firm. Only time will tell

I had a "thick" (18 in) foam mattress. Loved it. Except, when it got heated up just by my sleeping on it. Then, it mostly felt like I was sleeping in a spoon.... with a Bic lighter turned on under it. The foam was just plain hot and like a sink hole. On average, I'd say I was waking up every 3 - 4 hours because of the "confined" feeling and the heat. The purple mattress ..... it's pretty dang sweet. First, There is NO sinking feeling. Second, it 'feels' like something between an ocean wave and an old "box spring" from the 1950's (minus the creaky springs and the unevenness of the springs but it has (what feels like) the 'suggestion' of a spring bed). Third, it is not hot. Fourth, the "sinking feeling" is just gone and this is like floating on the ocean foam that you see right at the beach where the waves dump it. It is 'light' and you have the solid cushiony feeling of the water underneath to support you - except there is no water. Basically, I do not wake up. I am not experiencing that 'sauna' feeling (which is okay ... when you are in a sauna ... but, not okay when you are in bed ... trying to sleep). This is a pretty sweet mattress. I suspect I am going to be a pretty happy camper for quite some time.

I wanted to love this mattress but it is simply not comfortable. I have slept on it for almost a month and have lower back pain every morning. I have read that it may not be a good match for people under 150 pounds which I am. Hopefully the return process is as easy as advertised.

Purple took a few nights to get used to, but now that we are, my husband and I love it! His back pain has improved, and for me, it is the best mattress to sleep on while pregnant. This is my 7th pregnancy, so I am fairly experienced when I say that. At this point in my pregnancy, I would be pulling out pillows and stuffing them under me to try and get comfortable. The purple cradles me so well, that no extra support is needed. In fact, in the past, my round-ligament pain would be so severe at night that my husband had to lift me out of bed to try and sort it out. With purple, I just turn over to the side that hurts and within seconds the pain is gone. I assume it's the softness and support of the design. In any case, it's pretty awesome!

Getting the bed was easy and set up was a snap. I decided to get the Purple bed because of the reviews and how it helped with back pain. I have had my bed for a year and a half now and I still wake up with pain and the bed has sinking spots. The only reason I still have the bed is because of how much I paid for it and when I tried to get it replaced, it was a hassle and not convenient at all.

The Purple mattress seems to be very well made, but unfortunately we did not find that it was right for us. The customer service at Purple was great, however, and the return/refund process was smooth and simple. Buying a Purple mattress really is risk-free.

Before I purchased the Purple mattress, I had bought other memory foam mattresses that turned out to be big disappointments. I sleep very hot and have been desperately looking for a truly cool mattress for years. After much hesitation, I decided to give the Purple mattress a try. Did i mention I was desperate? Before placing the order, I called Purple CS and asked whether there was any memory foam and was assured that there was none. That assurance and the purple grid design convinced me to give this mattress a try. Fast forward to November. I have had this mattress since July. Although it sleeps cooler longer than other mattresses, after about an hour, it is just as hot as other mattresses. Whatever magic the grid was supposed to perform, it did not do it for me. I did not return the mattress during the 100-day return period because I was determined to "make it work," Cranking up the air conditioning in summer did not help, but I had hoped that with the onset of cooler weather, the mattress would feel cooler. It is not, in spite of the fact that I set my overnight thermostat to 65 degrees. Since I cannot sleep directly on it, I have been alternating between sleeping in my armchair and on a small spring coil mattress on the floor. Not terribly comfortable, but cool. The mattress will probably end up getting donated. And the quest for cool sleep continues. So not a positive experience, and another disappointment. All in all, this is a firm mattress (what I like) that most sleepers may find comfortable. However, at least for me, sleeping on it has been just as miserable an experience as with other mattresses.
