I did a ton of research when I was buying a mattress as it was time because my old pillow top had seen it's better days. I knew I did not want a tempurpedic or any other sort of memory foam. I was convinced I was a pillow top girl through and through. Until I found out about Purple. I had a friend tell me she loved hers so much and that I had to check it out. I was still doing my research, but as I was driving through town doing errand one day I saw a sign outside the mattress store that they had Purple mattresses. I had to stop to see what these were all about with no intention of purchasing that day, just doing some more research. Well, I bought a king sized Purple 3 that day. I had it delivered beginning of February 2019 and here we are 7/22/19 and my mattress I paid quite a bit of money for is sagging in the area I tend to sleep. I sleep alone and I am 205 (if that matters). I really love this mattress though which makes me a bit sad. Everything I read assured me this mattress would last and it would not sag, and here we are not even 6 months out. What will it look like in a year?! For the money I spent I feel that this should not be happening. So although I love the mattress and I sleep well and my body feels better than it did on my old pillow top.... I am pretty disappointed. Especially since I have a few more years to pay this bad boy off. :(

It really does measure up. We were putting off spending the money but my hip pain became so bad, I knew SOMETHING needed to change. Knowing someone who has a Purple of their own, they swore by it, so we wanted to try. No regrets at all! Within the first week my hip pain decreased and we were sleeping better. Hip pain is still around after a couple months but very notable decreased, which is really more than I could have asked or hoped for- I can even sleep on my bad hip again which I wasn't able to do for months and months. My partner also loves it and sleeps far better, always saying how awesome the new bed is. As well as sleeping, lounging in bed is finally tolerable and not painful. Sitting on our old mattress used to hurt instantly and now on my Purple I can be comfortable for hours. This is our genuine experience, no incentive to write this but I just seriously recommend a Purple for anyone who was in similar daily and nightly pain from their hip.

I had high hopes for this mattress as I was told by a family member that has one that it sleeps cool and very comfortable. I decided to splurge and pay for this expensive mattress but ultimately returned it because it was too soft and didn't sleep any cooler than others I have tried. The mattress definitely is unique with its honeycomb-type rubber top. I would put this as a soft to soft-medium firmness and I was needing a medium to medium-firm. The pillow is odd as well, just like the top of the mattress, rubber honeycomb and is VERY heavy. I can see why some people would like it, but, it just wasn't a good fit for me.

So far I notice that i physically feel better in the morning. Back pain is not really an issue. Its so comfortable I'm not rolling over as much or at least I'm not realizing it. I have two little dogs and they also appreciate the mattress when the get to hop up on it. Also the entire time i dealt with purple from beginning to end was fantastic. Great customer service. I really thank the purple team for their appreciation of the military and that they were able to answer questions for me without a bunch of mumbo jumbo.

i thought i had insomnia and would be awake for hours on end until 3 in the morning just not being able to get settled enough to sleep. after i go this mattress i immediately noticed how much faster i feel asleep on this mattress. love this purple bed!

Well it's been about 3-4 months now and I'm still very happy about it . I'm not hot when sleeping. I don't sink in a lot . Just about perfect for me . I took a chance on this bed and surprisingly I do not regret it . I can't say that this bed will work for everyone but works for me . I'm happy. The only thing I see is that it seem a bit undersized for a platform bed if you favor one side there would be about a inch and a half of slats showing. So if you do it right covers will hide it .

I really wanted to love this bed. People I know love this bed. I have tried it for over a month and I don't think I've had a single night where I was able to sleep in bed all night. I often sleep great for the first 4-5 hours, but then my lower back or hips get really sore. One night I woke up in the night and it felt like my hip was dislocated. I couldn't go back to sleep for a long time and I could hardly walk the next day (but I got better the day after that). I think this would be a good bed for other people. I have chronic pain and inflammation issues so it's probably just me. If I could sleep for all night how well I sleep the first half of the night on purple it would be the best bed ever. But after more than a month, I think I need to try something else.

This bed runs cold as ice, you NEED THE STRETCH SHEETS, they make it much better and warmer. Initially we tried regular oversize sheets, they suck, dont do it. Back and stomac sleepers will love this. Side sleepers not so much. Im a combo , but mostly side sleeper, the lack of side position compression and how cold it was, killed it for me.

I decided to try the purple after months of debating ordering a mattress online without getting to try it first. I got the mattress, the base, and the sheets in order to get the best experience. Upon first impressions it did seem a little firm but also very supportive and comfortable for me (5'11", 180 lbs) After a few weeks I really liked the mattress and was sleeping great and very cool, never woke up hot or sweaty. Unfortunately my fiancé (5'5" 120lbs) found the mattress to be way to firm and she woke up with shoulder pain because she wasn't heavy enough to settle into the mattress. I contacted Purple to start the return process and they were great! They outlined exactly what had to be done (I donated the mattress to a local charity) and followed through. Within an hour of sending them my receipt with all the information they requested, they sent a confirmation email accepting the receipt and sending my refund. Great experience overall, I strongly recommend you give purple a try!

I purchased the Original Purple Mattress for 2 reasons. 1. Durability 2. Cool Sleeps. After a year of this mattress... it's not durable and it doesn't sleep cool. And it's extremely heavy. 1. Durability - While the Hyper-Elastic Polymer might be durable, the top mattress isn't. I've had a nail get caught in the outer fabric while changing the sheets creating a sizable gash. I've been vacuumed the top of the mattress on a low suction just for the outer fabric to fray like an old sweater. I once move the mattress just for the outer fabric to get caught on the Purple Bed Frame and create... you guessed it, a hole. I bought this bed as an investment in my sleep, so I'm a bit disappointed that a product so expensive cannot handle day-to-day wear and tear. 2. This mattress sleeps so hot. I've tried all sorts of different sheets, including the purple sheets. I ended up having to leave windows open and a fan on. This mattress has helped with back and neck pains. But I wouldn't recommend it to a friend nor would I purchase from the brand again. :|
