So here is a preliminary review right before my first night of rest on the Purple. I will be posting more reviews in the future... Upon un-boxing the mattress, I immediately noticed how thin it was. The first impression was that it should be much thicker like most mattresses. But as soon as my girlfriend and I laid on it, we understood why the Purple was constructed like that. It seriously has amazing balance for being so thin. Now when we tested it out, our initial reaction was exactly the same. We felt that it was really firm as we tried different sleeping positions. But we really liked the way it felt. Although at first it was firm, the patented materials really shined because we could feel all of our key body areas and pressure points being completely supported. It was very interesting because we've never felt anything like it. So afterwards, we began to completely rearrange our room whilst lounging and taking breaks; laying on the Purple and relaxing. Thought the day we laid on it a few more times and talked about things etc. Later in the evening we ran some errands, ate a nice dinner and returned home. At this point, we tried it out again but this time we applied our bedding; sheets, mattress cover, blankets etc. We really felt so comfortable and cozy on there. Now we did think it was a little on the firm side throughout the day, but once all of our bedding and pillows were there, it felt so great that the firmness wasn't even a thought anymore. It just felt "right." Again, a perfect balance. Not too soft, and not too firm. I believe the body just has to adjust to the combination of materials that are present within the mattress. So the truth so far is that one must try it out first and attempt to leave behind any initial qualms or concerns at first. The more you lay on it, the more the body will adjust. I had a certai opinion of it at the beginning of the day, but now, its indescribable. We are totally loving the mattress and my girlfriend just passed out. She usually is awake at this hour but for some reason, she's off to dream land somewhat earlier than usual. So it seems as if this is working out! I'm loving it so far and I am excited to go to sleep in a few moments. It was interesting having all these mixed opinions, then throughout the day/night developing an entirely new opinion. Quite frankly, I've never been so excited to sleep in my life. So for now, I'm headed to that Purple and sleeping the night away. It's so comfortable and I am really glad we made the choice to purchase it. So, there's pretty much my first review. Let's hope the coming weeks and months are positive with the Purple!

At first I was totally sleeping better than ever in years. He way the material feels I figured it wouldn't form any sleep spots or wear down. Lately a month later I am noticing I sink in further in certain areas and the sides of the bed are more firm. Also the more you weight the more you notice stuff through the mattress. A 130 lbs person would feel quite comfortable I'm sure but I'm 220. I'm starting to feel support beams and such.

I was skeptical after our first night with our new Purple mattress because I woke up with HORRIBLE back pain. I started looking right away for instructions on how to get my money back! Purple recommended giving it a minimum of 21 nights before we gave up and while I thought that was a strange number and I felt ill at the thought of 21 nights of painful sleep, I decided to hope they knew their mattress better than I did--and it turns out they do. By about night 5, I began to realize I was sleeping comfortably and not waking up in pain. No return instructions needed here, we're sold on the Purple mattress! I went to customer service for advice on which one to choose since this technology is new to me, and surprise surprise they tried to convince me I needed their most expensive product. I decided to gamble, we got the LEAST expensive product instead, their basic Purple mattress (queen), and it has done the trick marvelously. We are really pleased with our results.

I've lost count of the number of mattresses we have purchased in the past 5 yrs., each time thinking we would at last be happy. Before making our Purple purchase, we did our homework and read everything we could get out hands on about this product and several others. We decided on the Purple. We have been very pleased with our decision. We are not experiencing the "sag" that seemed to occur so soon after purchasing previous mattresses. I highly recommend this product. I believe you will be highly satisfied with it.

Ok. I have the powerbase, pillow, sheets and mattress and I've reviewed them all and I'm now thinking I was a touch hypercritical... but even if I were super hypercritical, it wouldn't matter here! This mattress was made out of 2 parts science and 1 part love, with sprinkles of magical sandman sand! This mattress is so great for me! I sleep on my back, sides, and belly in that order. It feels soft, but is firm... I think the top layer is so soft that it literally disperses your surface area completely equally...? I can't rave about it enough! The only gripe I have is that I sleep in far too long now!

I'm not usually one to write a review on any product but my experience with the purple mattress has been heavenly!!!! I sleep well! I don't wake up with aches and pains anymore! I can sleep on my stomach without feeling the pressure on my lower back! I am so happy that I made this purchase. The only problem that I have with this mattress is that it's so COMFORTABLE THAT IT'S HARD TO GET OUT OF BED IN THE MORNING which has made me late for work quite a few times. LOL!

The experience of buying this bed was very easy. It was delivered quickly, and I was able to assemble it by myself. I work on my feet, and much of my back pain has disappeared. I alternate between sleeping on my side and my stomach. I used to wake up a million times a night, tossing and turning. Not anymore. It's not as comfortable for side sleeping as I had hoped, but overall, it's a huge improvement from the mattress I had before.

Im sorry to say, I've never received the mattress, so this review is not on the quality of the mattress. I do believe Purple has great quality items and very unique technology that works, and I have one of their seat cushions which is wonderful. I placed the order after being told the mattress was in stock and ready to ship. After numerous phone calls and no mattress over a three week period... no one had a solution. I was so excited to try the Purple mattress, and it was in outer space somewhere and believed to be lost by FedEx. I was never promised anything to make up for it by customer service, it was just... "sorry". I've written two letters to customer support and also to the person who wrote me to be an ambassador, and I have not once received a return response. But yet every time I contact customer service I get the annoying auto prompted email that asks me to rate their fantastic and top notch customer service that they provide. I believe this is inconsistent and not what I have experienced. One thing is for sure, every time I did connect with someone, they were very kind, courteous, and friendly. I have since ordered a memory foam mattress which is very nice. We still would like to try a Purple, but maybe we will go through Mattress Firm. I just can't imagine such a great product and company with production here in the USA, and not one person being aware of their operations and shipping or logistics. I just received my return credit after 1 month, and I am still awaiting my return credit for my pillows, of which have been confirmed and signed for but not back to my card yet? I once again called, and was told yes we have all items back and will eventually credit you. Purple, please spruce up your logistics and shipping. If FedEx can't do it right, then get someone else who can. I want to support a USA company with USA production... I just would like some support in getting the product in a timely and careful fashion. I am still considering trying your mattress, however it will take some deliberate consideration if I want to go through this debacle again. I await in anticipation and hope that things improve from a logistics standpoint. Thank you Kindly,

We had a Sleep Number bed that gradually 'sunk' in the middle. It was destroying our backs! I did lots of research on online mattress sites and ended up choosing Purple because of the flexible, supportive grid system (plus: it's purple!) Our new Purple mattress is flat and level, and feels so nice and supportive. We're very happy we switched!

The mattress is great, the shipping process was really bad. No tracking information, the package literally didn't move and I was told at one time it was likely going to be declared a lost package- how do you lose a mattress?! Once it finally arrived the mattress has been great!
