I'm not normally one to leave reviews, but I really am a fan of this mattress. It's not like anything else I've ever slept on. Just opening it and dragging it down the hallway it felt different from every other mattress. I bought their bed frame with it too (no squeaking--it's great). My first sit on it was like, "What IS THIS!?!" I've had it for over a month now and it's the best mattress. Just...ever. WHEN are you guys making FURNITURE with this stuff!?! I need Purple couches in my movie room NOW! :D

My husband and I have been sleeping with what we thought was a comfortable Tempur-pedic Mattress for the last 12 years, but it was time for a new mattress. The quirky Purple Mattress commercials initially sparked my interest in Purple Mattress, and then I explored further into the science of hyper-elastic polymers and the reported advantages that Purple Mattress offers. After watching several videos, I took the leap and ordered a new mattress and a purple pillow. My report: Smell - slight chemically smell that my husband dislikes, but far less than the Tempur-pedic mattress we bought 12 years ago. I haven't found this problematic, but we have been allowing air to circulate in the bedroom to further outgas the bed. Sleep Temperature: The Purple mattress definitely sleeps cooler than a Tempur-pedic mattress, a feature I quite enjoy as I tend to be a hot sleeper. Firmness and Support: The level 3 Purple is supposed to be the "middle" firmness and it definitely feels firmer than the "medium" firmness offered by the Tempur-pedic mattress. My husband describes it as sleeping on firm Jello. I find that the mattress conforms to the contour of my side sleeping profile without uncomfortable pressure points. The Tempurpedic mattress, tended to slump into a big hole and you sometimes felt trapped. Overall, much better support and relief from pressure points but it will take some getting used to in order to adjust to the firmness. Weight: Both the mattress and the pillow are quite heavy; particularly the pillow. It is of a weight that discourages you from moving it throughout the night. On the other hand, it gives me much better neck comfort so I do not need to adjust its position often. Final Review: Overall, I consider the Purple Mattress to be a significant upgrade and is by far, the most comfortable mattress that I have owned.

Ive had the mattress about a month now. It is DEFINITELY harder than I'm used to. Hardly any bounce at all. I am a side sleeper so I've noticed my shoulder hurting a little in the mornings but it doesn't last long. I seem to be sleeping pretty well on it so far but I'm going to give it the 100 days and make sure.

My husband and I are so pleased with this bed. We can sleep with confidence that we are not disturbing each other. Before, we both suffer with restless legs that would keep each of us up, we would constantly worry we were disturbing the other, now we just sleep well and with minimal disturbances. Thank you perple!

Seriously the best bed I've owned. I have chronic back pain from military service and I can honestly say when I wake up I don't feel it like I used to. It is so interesting to me that this bed is so firm but it cradles in the places you need it to. Thanks!

The Purple mattress had two immediate positive effects for us. First, my wife felt less pain at pressure points on the very first night. Second we both sleep more soundly as measured by waking up fewer times during the night and feeling more rested in the morning. In addition, my left shoulder seems to feel better (I sleep on my left side), but that is less quantifiable than the first two benefits. We also purchased the Purple mattress cover and Purple sheets. The mattress cover works as expected. The bottom sheet is nice and stretchy, but we keep getting tangled up in the top sheet. This happened nearly every night for two weeks. We're going to start using the top sheet as an un-fitted bottom sheet. Anyway, we're quite happy.

This original Purple mattress was not designed for those who weigh in excess of 220 lbs. I pretty much bottom out on the bed platform when sitting or reading a book. Not good. I do have to admit that I like the feel of the top layer, but the mattress will not work with my 260 lbs of body weight. I am not dismayed though. I am going to go through the return process for this mattress and obtain the updated Purple 3 mattress. I think I need the extra coils that are embedded in that mattress to provide me with the support I need. Wish the reviews or even the documentation online could of provided me with the pros and cons of the oriniginal vs the updated mattresses for body builds and or weight.

I can see how people would like the mattress, but it is not for me. At first I found the texture of the bed strange when I lay on it. I was able to get over that, but found the bed did not provide enough sink in my mid region when on my back. The bed just didn't give enough for my slender frame. I also do not like the Jello feeling when my wife or I move around on the bed. Thanks for letting us try it. We are in the process of returning it now.

I used to do what they called "sleep flail" - I would just toss around from side to back to front, whatever felt comfortable. The older I get, the less I found myself doing that. Probably because I'd get sore sleeping any other way than on my left side. I definitely haven't slept on my stomach since high school. But the night they delivered the Purple bed, I woke up in the morning, from a deep sleep, on my stomach. I was floored! Basically, this mattress is so comfortable - supportive, but yielding in exactly the right way - that my body can sleep in any position it wants. I've noted this freedom to move significantly cuts down on any soreness upon waking up. In particular, the morning pain my lower back that I had just written off as "getting older" is almost 100% gone, and I've only had the bed for about a month. The only thing I am unsure about is that now, when I do sleep on my side, the pillow that I have does not seem like it "goes" with the mattress - like somehow it doesn't support my head in a complimentary way. This could be as simple as "I need a new pillow," of course. I like the mattress so much, though, that I'm definitely not opposed to just seeing if getting the Purple pillow fixes that issue as well! Overall, I love my bed, and I actually look forward to going to sleep. (And I'm a night owl, lol.) They can pry this mattress out from under my cold dead body - no need for a 100 night trial for me!

I purchased this bed as my old mattress is about 12 years old we have a newborn that we cosleep with, iour old mattress was starting to go to the middle so we purchased this one in hopes for a little bit safer cosleeping only time will tell how it will hold up!
