When I moved into my new apartment I went with a pillow top from a mattress clearance store at a comparable price. Big mistake. I had already been having some stiffness and occasional back pain on the mattress I had been sleeping on four previous years. As a large man (then 300lbs now 350lbs) mattresses tend to sink in some after time which negates any support/alignment. I was hoping to get three years out of my new mattress, however, I only got about 3 months out of it before I started experiencing daily back pain upon waking. It got so bad it started waking me up in the middle of my sleep. I could barely get out of bed most mornings. I was skeptical about buying a "bed-in-a-box" and from what I could tell after days of research didn't think they could hold up to my weight. Eventually it got so bad that I couldn't continue with the same mattress anymore. I looked at a few options and purple caught my eye again. I was hesitant because of a few reviews I had read previously about long delivery times and a lingering smell. Then I read a well written review by a fellow military veteran that just resonated with me. He carried weight also and could not seem to find a solution to morning back pain. Purple worked for him. I was desperate enough that I ordered my mattress right away. It actually arrived before the scheduled date and I got a free set of sheets to boot (surprisingly these are the best bed sheets I have ever had - don't wrinkle - stay taut and tucked!). There was no lingering smell from the mattress (I washed the sheets before putting them on the bed). I could tell that there was a difference fairly quickly. It only took a few nights for the stiffness to reside. One month later, I now wake up pain free. The mattress compressed a little bit under my weight (which I expected), but the nature of the top layer keeps me from actually sinking in and does exactly what it claims. It would be silly for me to say that this bed is the solution to your back pain because everyone is different. At my weight I have to be careful not to "plop" down because I can hit the supporting frame (a wooden platform type to keep the bed low to the ground). But when I lay down at night I no longer dread waking up and barely being able to stand let alone roll over to get out of bed. The technology behind the top layer is awesome. They send you a little sample that you can press on. When you put your finger down the only part that compresses or moves is directly under your finger. Thank you to the makers who thought to incorporate this into a mattress. I am forever grateful for my Purple mattress. Now for another peaceful nights sleep :)

I was skeptical after our first night with our new Purple mattress because I woke up with HORRIBLE back pain. I started looking right away for instructions on how to get my money back! Purple recommended giving it a minimum of 21 nights before we gave up and while I thought that was a strange number and I felt ill at the thought of 21 nights of painful sleep, I decided to hope they knew their mattress better than I did--and it turns out they do. By about night 5, I began to realize I was sleeping comfortably and not waking up in pain. No return instructions needed here, we're sold on the Purple mattress! I went to customer service for advice on which one to choose since this technology is new to me, and surprise surprise they tried to convince me I needed their most expensive product. I decided to gamble, we got the LEAST expensive product instead, their basic Purple mattress (queen), and it has done the trick marvelously. We are really pleased with our results.

We are amazed at how comfortable the mattresses are - we have a queen and a twin in your house now, and they are a world apart from what we were sleeping on earlier. Most of us sleep on our sides and have a hard time keeping our spines straight for the night, but Purple's mattresses do an amazing job of being soft in the right spots while still providing full body support for a great night's sleep at any angle!

The first time I sat on the bed I was like "oh no" because it was so DIFFERENT. You can feel the soft, squishy grid. You feel yourself sinking and you're like "well, crap. this is going to suck." BUT THEN you lay down and magically the sinking stops. And you're like, "What is this weird mattress thing?!?!?! Why does it work??" Basically I haven't had a bad night's sleep since we've gotten it. My boyfriend has a broken femur that's been healing. We bought purple because he wasn't able to sleep through the night on our old mattress. His hip would lock up and it wasn't awesome. He was getting up 2-3 times a night. Now? He sleeps until 10am! Hotel beds suck in comparison. Seriously. We both, independently, missed our mattress when we went on vacation. What else... * The mattress is super heavy. Putting sheets on it is a bit of a pain because you have to lift the corners. * Putting pressure on one spot doesn't make the entire bed sink. Example: I can jump into bed like a flying squirrel and the mattress doesn't move/boyfriend doesn't roll into me. * Paying for it didn't suck because I don't mind financing it. * I may have bought this mattress on my phone in the backseat of a car without telling my bf. I explained that their return policy is "they'll pick it up after 100 days and take it to a shelter" and that seemed to make it all better. (obv not returning this mattress tho) That's all I got. This mattress is amazing! Last night was our first night sleeping on it and I slept so well! My husband has problems with his back and hips and he fell right to sleep and doesn't hurt this morning. You can actually feel the coolness of the air flow. We had a memory foam before this and we will never go back. I'm so impressed with this mattress.

I sleep very comfortable. My husband and I love it! We got the ck my kids always sleep with us though and dig their backs into me so I still have back pains.. I'm not sure if I got the base if that would help or not. My kid must not sleep comfortable enough to turn side ways to kick me. When I do sleep alone though I sleep great and without trouble. I'm a side, back, and stomach sleeper.

In the short time that I've slept on this mattress I've noticed that it's already starting to break down where I sleep every night. I am not a huge person. (200 pounds). I thought for a while it was my imagination but last night, I purposefully rolled all the way over to the other side of the bed and slept there all night. It was a huge difference and I could literally feel the broken down side of the mattress drawing my body over to the side where I normally sleep. I don't think this mattress is going to last much more than a year or two. Very very disappointed.

My only thought when my last mattress feel apart was that, i am going to have to spend $3500 or more on my next mattress. 4 years ago i purchased a king purple for a 1/3 of that price. Still haven't had a need to rotate it or even think about it for that fact. So happy and impressed we just recently purchased a new full mattress for our 10 yo kid. I tell everyone i know who is looking for a mattress about purple and how happy i am with my purchase. Also these new sheets are amazing!!!

This will be the 3rd Purple mattress I've bought. Gave my 1st to my sister because I needed to downsize (queen to full). And bought a king for my mom. If only Purple had a punch card... Needless to say, when it comes to comfort I go Purple and Purple accessories.

Holy heavy mattress! Well constructed. Definitely get help to set it up. I had a lot of back problems before we bought this mattress. One of the main reasons we bought it. Well, been sleeping on it 2 weeks and still have back problems. So much for a cure all. However, after sleeping on this mattress I can get right out of bed. Before, I had to get out of bed in stages as my spine conceded to the fact that it needed to go another direction. Now the only reason to stay in bed, is because I want to or allowed to by the little ones. I have had some mornings where I woke up sweaty, but not many. Those nights were with a set of jersey knit sheets. We put Purple sheets on it last night. I woke up cool as James Dean this morning. I love this bed. I just read Jared Bowers review. It is about the same, except I bought more sheets, I am shorter, we have a dog, no cat, and a lot less PTSD. As a disabled veteran, this is a Godsend. Like the title said AHHHHHHHHHHHHSOME!
