Firm, but responsive mattress. The mattress is very heavy. I hurt my back while trying to help my husband move it upstairs so I haven't been sleeping well at all. I've decided to go back to our old one. The Purple mattress is much thinner than our old mattress and that makes it a poor fit in our bed frame with head and foot boards. (I'm sure it would have been awesome in their adjustable frame.) I also found that I would wake up several times during the night and be really hot. I would have liked to have tried their sheets but I used our stretchiest ones instead. Pretty decent mattress, but just not right for me.

We are so disappointed in our Purple Mattress. We bought it 9/18/2017. The first month was rough. We knew there was a break-in period so we stuck with it. It did take time to get used to it, but then it was amazing! For the first time in 10 years I wasn't having pressure points in my hips that burned and hurt and went numb. My husband and I were both sleeping great! I even came back and bought the Purple Pillows 2/3/2019 because we liked Purple so much! Fast forward to 2021 and that all slowly started to change. Now, December 2021 we are ready to sleep on the floor instead of this mattress. We have been waking up for months with sore backs and hips and legs. I'm a side sleeper and my hips have been killing me with the pressure points. The burning and hurting is unbearable. We are not getting any sleep at all and haven't for months. I wish we had never bought this mattress. My old pillow top mattress lasted WAY LONGER than this Purple Mattress did. SO disappointed to spend that much money on something that did not last 4 years!!!

We received our Purple bed in September 2016 and LOVE IT! We would normally never order a mattress online but were really sold by all the positive comments, etc. It is very comfortable. Best mattress we have ever experienced! We have told folks they should give it a try!

Night time was actually a constant struggle, I have arthritis in my right hip. Unfortunately, I like sleeping on my right side. I go to sleep on my left, but, inevitably, wake up on my right from the pain in my hip. This happens several times per night. Thus, I never really get a good night's sleep, I awaken several times to turn back to the side that does not hurt. Enter Purple. I go to sleep at night and wake up in the morning, sometimes flat on my back! I haven't slept like that since I was young. I don't know what is happening at night because I am no longer waking up to find out. I never have pain in my hip when I wake up and I feel rested. The Purple is so comfortable that even during the day, when I see it, I think, "hmm, I think I'll go lay down for a few minutes" just to experience that comfort. Another issue I have discovered is waking up late....my internal tendency to wake up on time has suffered. Due to Purple comfort, I have had to start setting alarms. I'm hoping those last two are just part of the new experience and will wear off after awhile.....

We've had our Purple 1 (the original) for about a month. Good: Very comfortable. Just the right amount of support. The polymer eggcrate grid feels weird at first, but it's pleasant and COOL to lie on - nothing like memory foam. We also have the mattress protector, which is rather expensive but I think worth it; it breathes well and isn't heavy so it stays cool as well. I can sleep equally well on my side, face up, or face down, which was definitely not the case with our old innerspring. My lower back also definitely likes this mattress better. Bad: ...I haven't found a significant downside so far. I'm wondering about the possibility of mildew developing on that non-porous eggcrate eventually, but as I noted above the mattress shell and protector breathe well, and we pull the bedding off it for a few hours every week, so I'm not really worried about it. Bottom line: We're both impressed with this mattress. It's comfortable, easy to take care of, and reasonably priced by modern mattress standards. We'll probably buy another for the guest room at some point.

At first I could only sleep on this mattress for a few hours a night. It felt like sleeping on concrete, it was so firm! This lasted three weeks. Now I can sleep through the night and it would appear I'm finally used to it. It still feels a bit too firm. The two standard memory foam mattresses I had before this also started out too firm and then became too soft with pits in the middle. I don't think I'll have that problem with the Purple. I still have hope that we will get used to each other.

Best mattress I've ever slept on! I had a memory foam mattress for almost 10 years and it eventually wore down to the point that it was too soft and was shaped to me. My husband and I would wake up with back and neck pain and I would wake up several times in the night due to being too warm or sore. Now in just a little over three weeks' time, neither one of our back hurt! I have been sleeping through the night and my husband doesn't toss and turn like he used to! Thank you for this wonderful product! I had forgotten what sleep support actually felt like! :)

As a back pain sufferer, this bed literally solved all my problems. Perfect balance of firmness and support, contours to my body, and makes me feel instant relief the second I lay down. I've never felt more refreshed when I wake up either. Cannot recommend this mattress enough. IM IN LOVE!

Night 1 Purple Review: Ok, so it's different. It's pretty firm, but it's not hard at all. It's just very supportive. I don't really know how to describe it! It really does feel firm and soft at the same time. For the first time in forever I could actually roll over without my hips feeling like they're going to shatter. Just LAYING in the bed made me feel sleepy, and I actually woke up this morning feeling like I slept good all night. My boyfriend says it's the best sleep he's ever had. I know it takes a few nights to get used to your new mattress, so I'm guessing it's only going to get better. We shall see! P.S. The raw egg test is legit lol

I already sent in a review right after I bought not 1 but 2 twin mattresses. I didn't get a response. For what you're charging per mattress, for the Faith I put in you to have purchased 2 mattresses, sight unseen, I believe I deserved better. I should've received a response back. And immediately. Everything was great in shipping etc. Buu the chemical smell from just one was nasty, pungent & has yet to go away! I've had a large fan blowing out the smell of the mattresses all day, everyday, 24/7 since they arrived. Still no relief & we still don't sleep in that bedroom as we are waiting for the smell to dissipate. That was something that you should've told me prior to purchase. I feel ripped off & would like my $$ back because of the endless chemical smell & your lack of concern. I also have no intention of shipping them back because the weight of each mattress is very heavy & I wouldn't be able to get the mattresses back in their duffle bags. What now?
