I believe that it was a texture thing for me and just didn't seem anything like a kraft branded mac. Made me feel like it was a lower brand with cheap ingredients. I understand that it it's made for more protein and supposed to be better for you, but it was either the noodles or the cheese that just did not taste great and I just wasn't a fan. Other than that, it was very easy to make just like the original Kraft as well as the portion size seems to be about the same.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As an avid mac n' cheese fan I was very eager to try this protein mac. It does taste different from regular mac n' cheese, but I like it. I could see some people not liking this just because it is noticeably different from the original. Besides a slight difference it is more or less exactly the same. It says on the box “cheese sauce”, but unfortunately it's the cheese powder sauce. I really prefer boxed macaroni to have actual cheese sauce similar to velveeta. Overall, I like the protein mac better than regular macaroni and cheese. I could even see myself dressing it up as a full entree instead of side by adding some meat to it. Either sliced ip hot dogs, grilled chicken, or taco meat.

I don't even like food in boxes but this isn't bad at all. You can give your kids and a little bite to your dog not to much. But it was good for me even when you put in the oven and it melts. Got my mouth watery just thinking of it again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What I first noticed about the packaging was the 17 grams of protein and 6 grams of fiber that this packs per serving on the front of the package. The packaging is the same as the original packaging with instructions on how to make the product located on the side. For the most part, the texture is similar to the original version, with the noodles tasting and feeling slightly different which I am sure is because of the added protein. The cheese sauce still has that iconic taste and smell to it that the original has. This item does contain dairy so if that is an issue you may want to pass up or find alternative ways to make this product. I paired the protein Mac and cheese with bbq pulled pork sandwiches and a salad. I thought it went well with the combination and could see it working with grilled chicken, vegetables, or even by itself if there is nothing else. I could see this being a great alternative to the original version if you are trying to hit your protein goals.

I didn't realize Kraft has protein Mac and cheese and I'm so glad they do now. This competes with goodles and even has more protein. Super happy to find this and it brings me right back to childhood!
