This is an update to a previous review I made of The New Purple Mattress 2. If I were writing this update alone, it would be more of a 2.5, but my husband still loves the mattress, so it gets a boost from his 5. At first, I loved it as much as he still does. My back pain went away, and I was waking up feeling less tired. As time has gone on, though, I started waking up before I needed to. At first, I thought it was just because I was getting a better rest and so was just not needed to sleep as long. But, I have been waking increasingly earlier. Now, it's up to over an hour before I need to. In addition to waking earlier, I wake up several times in the night to flip to my other side because the shoulder and hip of the side that I fell asleep on hurts. Then, I wake up again with the second shoulder and hip hurting and flip again, then I wake that more than an hour before I need to with that first shoulder and hip (now slept on twice) burning with pain. For a while, I would lie on my back at that point, but I'm not normally a back sleeper, and so can't go to sleep. Plus, my lower back started hurting from lying on my back for that last hour or so in bed, so now I just get up after I woken a third time in the night, no matter what time it is. My husband has been tossing and readjusting more in his sleep as well, but it hasn't woken him, and he doesn't have the pressure point pain. I, on the other hand, feel like I've been camping for a couple months.

I have medical issues and haven't had a great nights sleep in over 5 years. I took a leap of faith and purchased the Purple mattress. I did a lot of research before buying this brand. It seemed to me that this was the better buy of them all. Let me tell you that the very first night I slept on it was the beginning of a great relationship. I had just moved and I could literally hardly walk. I'm disabled and couldn't believe it when I woke up the first morning after a WONDERFUL nights rest. I usually wake up 3-4 times a night and try to get back to sleep. I only woke up 1 time and not because I couldn't sleep.(older people know what I mean). I got out of bed and couldn't believe how I felt. I had so little pain in my legs and back that I thought I was almost normal again and not as sick. All I can say is you need to take the chance and at least try the Purple mattress. Trust me your body will love you for it.

Omg purple is the best matress i have ever slept on. Go PURPLE! I am 65 yrs old and my body has many issues but when i sleep on purple i am in heaven! So relaxed and my body isnt in the pain it was sleeping on my other matress! Skepticle? Understandable but doesnt cost a thing to try it. That why i gave it a try plenty of time to try it out. Actuallt you will know within a few days if you enjoy a restful sleep on Purple i sure did and months later i am still enjoying it. Thanks Purple!

I bought a Purple queen mattress in the hope that it would alleviate my chronic low back and hip pain. I'm sleeping better than I have in decades and my pain is almost gone when I wake up in the morning. I also love the stretchy sheets. Great products, marketing and delivery.....I couldn't be happier!

People need to give their body a chance to adjust to this mattress. I went from a very old very uncomfortable mattress with a memory foam/gel hybrid topper. It took a good 2 weeks for my body to really appreciate the technology Purple has developed. I no longer wake up hot or have the aches and pains to rub out when I wake up. It's not too hard like other reviews have said and I think Purple's 100 night guarantee will give you the time to figure it out yourself. Their customer service is amazing so anyone actually complaining about them really hasn't tried to even send them an email. This mattress And company are great!!

While we did not end up keeping our mattress, as it was not quite right for us, Purple was a great company to use. We live in rural MT and our mattress was delivered right to our door. Instead of returning the mattress to Purple, we were able to donate it to a local charity AND get our full refund. This is a great way to go since our mattress will now be able to go to a family in need instead of in a landfill. Thank you Purple for the great customer experience even though we did not end up keeping our bed.

Not gonna lie, I do like it, most of the time. Seems a little on the firm side, but from the reviews I've gathered on mail order mattress brands, purple is on the softer side. May try a pillow topper with it. Overall I'm enjoying it. I don't have anything negative to say. Plus it was easy to setup and was delivered VERY fast! Kudos for that! And I use the supplied sleep masks regularly. Thanks purple

I had originally purchased the hybrid 2 mattress and I kept waking up with hip and back pain due to the firmness of the mattress. I returned the mattress and decided on the original purple mattress which has made a world of difference! I am a relatively light person of 143 lbs, and this mattress feels much softer while still giving me the support I need. I highly recommend doing your research on which mattress is the best fit for you and your body type and sleep style.

Our mattress took longer than expected to deliver. We ended up getting the frame that is super heavy duty and yes is very well built. We had received the mattress and frame a week apart which stinks cause I wanted to lay on it but had to wait another week to get rest of bed after waiting a long time to get the first part of it. I am still waiting on the pillows. As for comfort it is OK it is not what was expected. The mattress seemed very much like laying on several gym mats. The frame looks and feels like it'll be built for life. (Very nice quality) if anything I would change... I would have shipped the bed out together so the customer didn't have to wait for all the pieces to show up.

I have had back and neck problems for 13 years now. I have tried 6 different mattresses over that time, trying to find something comfortable. I was excited to try purple since it it so different than anything else out there. The first night I could only lay on it 30 minutes until my back was killing me. I was discouraged but tried it again the next night and it has felt wonderful ever since! So it does take some getting used to. I don't think there is another mattress out there that is as comfortable for side sleeping. I have had absolutely no neck pain and my shoulder just sinks in allowing my neck to be in the perfect position but still very supportive for my back. My husband and I both love it!
