Love love love, from day one we are about 2 months in and it's still so comfortable! Neither my husband or myself went through a transition period where we didn't sleep well. I saw other review say the mattress was too soft I definitely did not think so I actually found it to be soft but firm. My boys 4 and 2 tried rumping on it after we got it on our bed frame and they were sad that they couldn't bounce around the same as our old ****** spring mattress, lol the jokes on them because it's perfect for quiet no movement sleep. My husband used to toss and turn most of the night now he pretty much stays in the same position (side or back) all night. I've usually been a side or tummy sleeper but I can now sleep even on my back and feel comfortable in my lower back. Easy to open right out of the shrink wrap and comes to true size within seconds. Love love love please buy this bed!

I love this bed! This has to be the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on. It is like your body just melts into the mattress. Worth the price! A hat tip to the customer service supervisors and representatives. They helped me with any questions I had. Thank you

My wife and I are baby boomers. We've slept on upper end coil spring mattresses for years. When the first 'memory foam" mattress came to the market, we ordered one. It was like sleeping on a gym pad. Disappointed (and sore) we went back to another good quality coil spring mattress and were comfortable with it for years. Now, much like us, this mattress has become weak & saggy. Our sleep suffered and the morning aches and pains grew stronger. Clearly it was time to replace. I researched various mattress types and brands for about 3 months learning more about mattresses than I ever wanted to. Coil spring, gel foam, memory foam, hybrids, etc. - the whole list of opportunities. All claimed to be the most comfortable, best to support your body and durable. I really struggled with buying a mattress on the internet without trying it out in the store but after looking at the customer reviews and comments about customer service with the 100 night test we decided to give it try. Purple was the only truly unique product on the market and the only real new innovation in this industry in a lot of years. Still skeptical, I ordered one of the Purple chair cushions first and we all tried it out. The final determination was made when I set the cushion on our bed for a minute and our French bulldog instantly curled up on it and went to sleep. This dog is a professional sleeper so his endorsement was good enough for us. BTW- you folks at Purple might want to expand into the pet bed market next. I think you'd find a lot of pet-loving buyers there. I ordered a king mattress on Jan 1, 2017. Purple did communicate that they were backlogged with orders from Black Friday & the Holidays. I told my wife that such demand was a good thing because they are obviously selling a lot of units, many by word of mouth I assume from satisfied customers. They've only been in the mattress game for the last 12 months so I'm sure they are dealing with some growth issues. The mattress finally arrived Jan 19. Yes, it was heavy & bulky but it unpacked easily and instantly went to full size when unrolled. No wait, no odor- just instant bed! I had read some reviews that said it may take up to a week to get use to the feel of this new mattress but not for us. From night one- we absolutely LOVE this mattress. We are so impressed we ordered one for our son & his wife and they are anxious for it to arrive. I wrote this review because the vast majority of those I saw during my research were from younger folks and I just wanted to tell my fellow boomers & other more senior folks that this mattress is for us too. Purple cost is in the upper end for the 'mattress in the box via internet" market. Maybe one or two others more expensive and then you get to the whole Tempurpedic & Sleep Number thing costing what a small car would. I would argue that the Purple technology is what sets it apart from all of the others and is clearly worth the price (assuming it holds up). Bottom line- I absolutely recommend this mattress to anyone for who a good night's sleep is important!

I love this mattress!! My wife and I have had foam mattresse in the past that, although comfy, have ended up with us reverting back to a spring version becuase of the inability to get used to it. The Purple mattress felt like a cloud when I first laid on it and still does!

OK. At first I borderline hated the purple mattress. I'm under 130 pounds, so the floating effect they warn of is 100 percent accurate. For a few weeks I hurt like heck (but not really any worse than the pain I was experiencing from my old Tempur pedic, just different). Trying to find the right pillow was frustrating (I'm mostly a side and sometimes a back sleeper). I tossed and turned like crazy at night, never getting into a deep sleep. I finally found a pillow that worked for me, and at around three weeks, my back pain almost completely disappeared. But my arm/shoulder pain and the falling asleep feeling in my arms persisted, keeping me awake at night. Then, one day I laid on my husband's side and noticed the bed was significantly softer over there. I decided to rotate the bed head to foot so that I was now on his side (yuck, my head is where his feet were). It was softer and more cozy, but my back pain returned for a couple of days and I was ready to throw the bed away and try a different mattress. After a few days though, the gimpyness went away and slowly I started sleeping better. Once I got more sleep, everything started improving and I started falling in love with the bed. After a couple of months, we've officially decided to keep it and have even bought a second set of cotton sheets as opposed to our stretchy ones. There isn't a significant enough difference to us now that the bed is broken in to pay the extra money for stretchy sheets (you know how hard it is to find good quality Jersey sheets in king sized? That was a pain in the rear). I'm knocking my review down to four stars not because of the adjustment period or the sheet buying experience, but because of two other factors: 1). Our bed is about 3-4 inches shorter than a king sized bed is supposed to be, and 2 inches less in width as well. This is not a deal breaker because neither my husband nor I are very tall, but if we were we would be upset. I did contact Purple and they were willing to trade, but we wanted to wait to see if we were going to keep the bed at all before doing so. Now that we've broken it in, I don't really want to go through all that again. 2) I am a bit afraid of the long-term for this bed because the indentations on mine and my husband's sides are already getting obvious just by looking at them, and are extremely obvious when you compare the feel of them to the middle of the bed. Everyone we have try it out notices a huge difference between the sides and the middle. But, they seem to have a fair warranty, so hopefully if it breaks down badly enough before the warranty ends, they'll stand by it. We're excited for our next future adventure! Purple pillows!

My husband and I realized our back pain is gone after two weeks of sleeping on this mattress. It's a great mattress and are so happy we took the plunge and tried it. We're were disappointed at how long it took to get to us. Ordered it on a Sunday and didn't get it until the following Monday. It's ahipped ground. Other than that it's been wonderful. Not too firm/not too soft. Just right!!

My first thought when I laid on the bed was " This is what I imagine laying on a giant marshmallow would feel like." The bed is pretty perfect. Its soft, has just a little bit of give everywhere you put pressure, but its not mushy. The mattress cover has a fairly plain design, but attractive. I dont think that adds or detracts from the mattress itself, given its always covered by a sheet or blanket. This is the first bed I've splurged on, and so far, I think its absolutely worth the money.

I bought this months ago and thought it was great but after being on vacation for the past 10 days in a hotel I am blown away. I have shoulder and neck problems which haven't ached since I bought this mattress. But after sleeping on a hotel mattress my neck and shoulder ached my entire vacation along with a new mid back pain that started thanks to the hotel room mattress.(5 star hotel mattress) Now that I am back and have slept just one night on my Purple I am blown away at how well I slept and the pains I had for the past 10 days are completely gone. It truly is the best! As a night shift nurse who has sleeping issues nothing beats a good resetful actually feel refreshed when I wake up sleep! I am contemplating buying them for my guest bedrooms now too!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love that the mattress comes delivered in a sturdy bag with handles. It was easily dragged to my bed and opened. The plastic was very tightly wrapped so I was concerned about cutting the mattress. The mattress is very comfortable and I'm very satisfied. I got the 9.25 inch mattress so I could add my 4 inch gel foam and feather pad on top.
