As a mattress I can hardly imagine it being better. My one complaint is the chemical smell that persists indefinitely, but a good mattress cover has minimized that problem. It might be better if you found a way to seal the mattress from the factory, because the odor smells like VOC off-gassing similar to that of vinyl products.

I've had my purple mattress for possibly 2 years already and switched from a sleep number (still have it in storage because sleep numbers basically last forever) . It didn't make any difference in my quality of sleep and I DON"T wake up refreshed and energized. That is just sales hype. MY 62 years taught me most mattresses are about the same and NO mattress can make you sleep better. All mattress adds are full of HYPE. Sitting on the edge is really awkward because it seems too soft and can't support you. OH, AND I REALLY HATE THAT IT WEIGHS A TON. IT IS TOO HARD TO MOVE AROUND OR EVEN TUCK SHEETS UNDER! When it arrived all I could do was roll it into the garage and wait for some strong young men to carry it up to the bedroom. Giving it 2 stars because of the hype and the weight of it. I don't really care if eggs don't break on it, bottom line is that I just want a good night's sleep!

We purchased the basic purple mattress 2 weeks ago. The first few nights was amazing then it got to where we were waking up to move or get comfortable again, but never woke up tired. After we have become use to this mattress it is amazing! We don't wake up tired and sore anymore but still do not want to get out of bed, but for comfortable reasons! I have woken up with my arm or arms numb for some reason but hoping it is more of a position thing.

First problem, Purple was not forthcoming about delays in their production. The mattress I ordered was on a 3-4 week backorder. This information should have been made available to me either prior to purchasing or shortly after purchase. Neither of these notifications happened. I only found out because I CALLED. The customer had to call THEM to find out about their own delay. COOL. Second problem, today, over a month after purchase, I was mysteriously refunded for the entire purchase. They don't have any records of why this happened. I could have NOT called and they would have been none-the-wiser. When they "corrected" the issue, they actually overcharged me. At this point, I have sunk 2 hours of my day into this issue. SUPER COOL. Add to all that, the mattress is not amazing. My shoulder issues have gotten worse. After all this, do you really think I'm going to DARE return or exchange it? NOPE!

Never pictured the day when I would buy a mattress sight unseen online, not having laid on it in a store. I have always hated the way other "foam" mattresses felt, to constrictive and hot. The purple mattress does what is supposed to support without pressure points, and It sleeps cool. It felt different when we first laid on it; nothing out there like it. We love it and feel we found a solution for our prior nights of poor sleep. I would like to see the prices come down some so we could outfit more bedrooms in the house. Thanks purple!

This is my in depth review of the experiences I have had with the Purple Mattress. Included is the observations of myself. Also included are some observations of my wife's habits. Mattress Background The previous mattress we were using was a Stearns and Foster Beautyrest 2 Queen. I had received it used 10 years prior to replacing it. Its total age was anywhere between 15-20 years. Late 2014 saw the addition of a Novaform 3in Gel Memory Foam cushion also a pillow topper. Personal Background Age: Mid 30's Weight: Mid to higher 200's Height: 5'10 Medical Issues: Reconstructive surgeries to both hips. Chronic Issues: Pain in: Hips, knees, shoulders, lower back, neck. Circulation issues with arms. General Observations with the Purple Mattress Weight: No one is being dramatic when saying this mattress is HEAVY. Installation: Can be cumbersome due to weight but if forethought is taken you and a second body can get it done in a snap. Feel: It is more firm than one would think from the videos. There is also give to it when enough pressure/weight is applied. Timeline Night 1: Installation of a new bed frame and the mattress left us exhausted. Sleep came easy. Could really tell the ease at which it lowered the pressure on key areas of my body. Week 1: Observing less pain in key areas. The give of the mattress takes time to learn so that one can get up and out. Wife is falling asleep easier and getting more hours. Week 2: Noticing changes in my sleeping positions. Previous sleeping positions lead to older issues with circulation and muscle strain. Allowing the mattress to do more supporting relieves these issues. Example: Sleeping fully on side is more comfortable that part side/part stomach. Wife has adjusted sleeping position. She is sleeping longer while on her back. Week 3: Sleeping positions have not adjusted as much as previous week. Decided to change the pillow used. As side sleeping is prefered need to use something thicker than a 4in dense memory foam. Week 4: Sleeping with a different pillow has helped sleeping more. Side sleeping does require thicker support. Noticing more dreams than I did in the past. Mid-night wake ups happen far less frequently. Usually sleeping 5-6hrs straight, instead of the previous 2-3hrs. Week 5: Finding myself sleeping longer. Before nightly average was 7hrs. New nightly average is 9. Old issues of waking very groggy are going away. When I wake up on my own I am very alert. Week 6: Feeling fully adjusted to the Purple Mattress. Have not waken up with any lower back pain in 2 weeks. Knees do not ache when getting out of bed. Review The Purple Mattress is something I would've never expected. A firm platform that moves with me where I need it. A bed that allows my wife and I to sleep in better comfort that is beneficial to our health and sleeping habits. If you are someone who wants to sleep on soft stuff than this probably isn't for you. The support will throw you off. If you are one that wants to sleep on a hard floor, well you might just be surprised by the feel of the Purple. You can have comfort and support. We absolutely love our Purple. This can not be said enough. I wish I could describe the feel of it better so that others may be able to decide to make the change to Purple. It doesn't isolate motion as some other platforms. The more weight that is applied the more the mattress has to adjust. The top layer has the bounce back of something that is close to jello, but no wiggle/jiggle or mess. The sleeping temperature of it is indeed neutral. There is no cold or hot spots, just cold or hot people. The sleep that we get on the purple feels natural. The only thing close to this feeling is that of a water bed, without the constant motion. If you are thinking of moving to Purple then we do recommend it. If it does not work out for you the company has a great return policy, or there is sure to be someone you know with a very old mattress that can use an update. The price point is fantastic, so why not try it out?

We have had this bed now for about 4 weeks. My wife and I both agree that when you just lay down on this bed you don't immediately think "wow this is comfortable", but I will say I sleep WAY better and wake up less sore than I have in a very long time. I have been very pleased with the bed and would recommend one to anyone. We went from a sleep number to the purple and are happy with our decision.

I had the worst back problems when I had a memory foam mattress, I'm only 27 years old and I could barely get out of bed which is a big problem when I'm a mom of 2 littles and a full time CNA. After getting the purple mattress it was amazing nights 1&2 I think my back was still healing from the old bed but I felt it getting better, by the 3rd morning I hopped right out and had my full energy. I plan on buying Both my kids A Purple mattress. This mattress is a dream come true, and I am never buying a different brand.

After spending weeks looking at beds and discussing what was important to both my partner and I we decided to try Purple. We ordered a Queen size bed and the royal seat as well. It came quickly, in about a week or so which was much shorter than anticipated, in the best way. I am a shorter woman, 5 ft 4 in, and I was able to bring this inside and get it set up on my own. It was heavy but doable. Easy to open and the bed is ready almost instantly. We have been sleeping on this mattress for about a month now and sleep has improved for both of us, its easier to fall asleep and stay comfortable. I find I am waking up less in the middle of the night which previously was a big problem and a lot less body aches and pains which has been a life long battle. It has been the best investment in our better well being. The seat is pretty awesome as well. My partner takes it to work as he sits for long periods and loves it. I use it sitting at the desk, and can tell a great improvement in blood circulation in my legs while sitting!!!! We have suggested you already to family, friends, and co workers because we are so happy with your products and will be purchasing more in the future. I wanna put purple on everything!!!!!!!

That's the only word needed! My husband and I fought over firm vs soft mattresses for years and without spending a fortune on adjustable beds or getting separate beds, we're both happy. More than happy - well rested and without aches and pains! I'd give more stars if I could!
