Extremely disappointed with the new scent
I have used Dawn for many years and have been extremely happy your product. However, this new scent is awful! I actually gives me a headache. I have a bottle in my kitchen and another one in my laundry room. I have recommended your product to family and friends. I haven’t used anything other than the original Dawn or Dawn platinum for the last 20+ years! Please change the formula back to what it use to be so I don’t have to start searching for another brand!!

Scent
PLEASE bring back the old Dawn scent. The new scent is awful and so strong. The entire house smells like it when I had one pan soaking in the sink with a little dawn. The old Dawn scent was perfect. I love Dawn for so many reasons but I will have to switch if the new scent remains.

Not animal safe or friendly
I have used dawn for years now that it has a new clean scent its horrible, everything i wash smells and absorbs the smell getting into the food and beverages we drink its literally ruined anything porous I own including my pets ceramic food bowls. When i dilute it to see if it helps it does not. I'm looking for a new dish soap. I can't believe this new soap would be safe for animal use in any way either. I hope common sense is used in this case.

This is the first scent change for Dawn Original in over 10 years, but please be assured that we value your feedback greatly and are sharing it with the rest of our Dawn Team. In regard to the scent affecting your food, drinks, and pet bowls, we wouldn't expect this to be your experience, however, if the soap isn't completely rinsed off, or if the dishes have become porous, it is possible. If certain items always pick up a flavor, they're probably worn to the point of being porous and should be washed by hand. It might help to know that cast iron and plastic items can absorb flavors. To remove the scent/taste, please soak the dishes in hot water with some distilled white vinegar added. Additionally, we want to assure you that safety for you and your pets is our highest priority, and we put our products through extensive testing ensure they are safe to use as directed. New Scent Offputting
The new scent is overpowering and it lingers. I thought it might have been user error and I didn't fully rinse out my pans, but reading other reviews assures me this is not the case. I was making eggs and the perfume of the soap was wafting out of the pan as I cooked. The smell lingers on hands and dishes. I used the bulk dawn dish soap for everything from at home dishes, to cleaning my lab glassware in my classroom, as well as in some experiements. I hate to waste it but I don't think we can finish the bottle.

While we did recently change the name of our Dawn Platinum Refreshing Rain to Fresh Rain, no changes were made to the scent itself. We also suggest giving our Dawn Free & Clear, which features our lightest scent, or our Dawn Free & Clear Fragrance-Free a try instead. As well, we'd like to mention that Dawn hasn't been tested to be used on lab glassware or in any type of experiments, so we can't recommend using our product in this manner. undoubtedly the best to wash dishes, I am Housewife and wash dishes is a constant. It's more expensive than other brands but it's worth it. before I used other cheap ones that did not work. Dawn yields a lot and is also delicate with your hands. it's worth investing in a good dish soap.
Disappointed and frustrated with this product
Our family has a BBQ Food trailer and I do loads of greasy dishes from our pork, brisket, ribs and all our sides. Dawn was a go to for all of ur greasy dishes and made the job easier until you switched formulations this year. You changed the product line up to this Platnium and watered it down. Now I have to squirter it directly on each dish or there will be a greasy film on each dish. There was a heavy duty product that we used last summer and now it is gone, I am sure you had to take the detergent cleansers out for environmentalists or you watered it down and made the containers smaller to increase shareholder profit just like all the other companies gouging consumers but I am so disappointed and frustrated with this product!!!!!

Horrid scent and doesn't rinse well
Very, very disappointed. The rain scent is just horrid - like an overly floral perfume from the past century. Not fresh at all - more like musty. Why did you change the scent! It reminds me of when you changed the original Tide scent a few years back - this is the same awful scent that caused me to never buy Tide again! I won;t be buying Dawn anymore unless I can find the original fresh scent. Also I noticed that it is very hard to rinse the dishes, they almost seem to be coated with a slick film.

Since we're always looking to bring you the latest innovations, we did update this formula. We do have a variety of scents available, so we recommend trying out a different version to find a scent that meets your preferences. We also wouldn't expect it to be more difficult to rinse your dishes. We suggest making sure that water temperature is hot enough when you're rinsing. Clean Scent??? No thank you!
We bought a large bottle of our favorite dish soap, it’s a staple in our household and is used for multiple needs. I opened up the new bottle and did some dishes, and thought that’s an odd scent… didn’t think much of it thinking it was something else that wafted up like the dead roses I’d thrown out earlier. Next day after the trash was taken out… I was washing up the kitchen and the scent hit me again and this time it made me nauseous…. I told my husband that I hate the smell of the soap and asked if they changed it. I looked at the bottle and sure enough, new “clean scent” was printed right there. It’s awful, he hates it, I hate it and dishes are certainly a chore now. There is something triggering about it, nausea and headaches. Just awful! Please please please change it back! I never ever write reviews, but this was a must.

I have been impressed with every type of dish soap I buy from Dawn and this is no exception! It works great to get off grease and get dishes/ hands clean! It breaks down grease quickly so you’re not just creating a big grease mess while trying to get your dishes clean. This a huge plus for me. A little also goes a long way. You don’t need a lot making the product actually last a while.
Terrible scent with formula change?
Recently bought "clean new scent" dawn and the new scent is terrible. The whole drawer where I store plastic bowls washed with new dawn smells awful. When cooking with skillets washed with dawn u can smell it cooking off when first heated up. Please, please bring back old dawn. Not sure if problem is new scent or formula change to dawn. My brother had to stop using also. Hope this won't be like " new coke" where u lose many customers. Hard to get back once u lose them.
