I had made roasted chicken with veggies and still needed another side. Uncle Bens Ready Rice was simple to make simply pop it in the microwave since I didn't have any other burners available and it was done in 2 minutes. I put it in a bowl added a little butter fluffed it with a fork and it was done. It helped to complete our family dinner and they all loved it.

I tend to eat a lot of brown rice and the rice is a little tougher but this basmati rice is so soft and fluffy and delicious! It pairs so well with many different options for dinner and isn't an over powering flavor. If you enjoy softer rice this is a great option for you. I also love that you microwave it in the bag. Makes getting ready ready so quick!

Especially if your in a rush or are trying to get a quick dinner ready for the family. Only complaint is that it was a little bland, but we added some spices and they helped. All you need to do is break up the rice in the punch, tear about two inches to vent the bag and microwave it for 2 minutes and then you have completely cooked, great tasting rice to add to any dish. Love it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Uncle Ben's rice has always been a staple in my household, long before these new easy heat and serve pouches came about. Honestly, I don't particularly love the flavor of this rice on its own but I always add to it to spice it up. If I want just rice I add a little salt, pepper and butter. Otherwise I use this rice in any recipe that calls for it. Rice cakes, stuffed peppers and cabbage, fried rice, rice bowls, soups etc. I like the family size pouch as I can portion it out to use for different meals. I believe the convenience is my favorite part. I probably ate from this one family size pouch for at least a week. This size pouch would absolutely benefit larger families. I plan to try a broccoli, cheese, rice and chicken casserole with this rice soon.

I have tried other microwave rice's and they tend to taste different than what I get when I cook it on the stove. This was tastes really good and isn't hard or crunchy at all. I will have to give the other types of rice that Ben's has available for my dinners.
