I paid $143 for my very simple taxes to be filed and then at the end some “mistake” has been made and my state taxes can’t be e-filed. And I couldn’t ask for help unless I paid another $183?1? So I have to print my state taxes and mail them, mind you its 7pm on tax day…perfect.

This system is predicated on people being ignorant to their tax implications. Frankly I wouldn't have even used your systems if I was made more aware earlier that there were other options to file my taxes for much lower cost. But you like it that way, and that is the problem. Whatever poor quality assurance person has to read this is not the target of my ire. It's the C-suite executive big wigs that I take umbrage with. Rest assured I will do my best to never use your product lines again, and I will be urging everyone I know to never use your products either. Pathetic.

My return was initially rejected due to a software error on TurboTax's end. The code was F1040-978. It was never communicated that that was what happened and how I should fix it. Every person affected should have been notified, but instead I had to call and speak with someone to figure that out. I should not have had to pay $130 for this service, given I did everything right on my end and your software screwed it up. However, I will say the woman I spoke with was very kind and helpful.

For some reason, my prior year taxes are not reporting even though I filed with Turbotax. I located the tax documents and the 2024 file which could not be read or opened by any of my programs so that I could obtain the AGI. I had to go through the IRS Transcript to obtain information Turbotax had so I could file.

Took forever to get almost half my refund back, over half went to your frees on a supposedly "free" product. And you slipped in another $44 for some premium service. I will NOT use your services in the future! I did most of the work, declined every upsell... I am advising my friends not to use this scam. If you advertise its free, it NEEDS to be free.

The product asked if someone else had claimed me but then asked if I had received a 1098-T form. That form cannot be used if someone else has claimed me. Then my returns were rejected so I logged back in to correct the return. Turbo Tax does not walk you through figuring out what the error is or correcting although it says it's going to.

Luckily, I checked to see if I got my return yet. I already did all this and filed and you never filed it and now I’m filing late because of it terrible software this is the second time I’ve had to transmit my returns. The first time was on March 10.

This was super confusing, I ended up paying 150 dollars when I thought I would be able to file for free. This is a misleading exploitative service disguised as a helpful tool. I will not be filing through TurboTax in the future, and plan to contact customer support to issue a refund. The service seemed like it would be free or charge from my refund, but instead I ended up paying double the amount I would have for just my refund. I will leave negative reviews everywhere I can and tell all the people in my life to never use this service.

Turbo Tax seems to make what should be a simple return overly complex and time consuming. The program asks the same question over and over again just in different ways rather than guiding you start to finish on a single round of questions. The program wastes a lot time showing you fancy and very unnecessary graphics saying "We are checking this" or "reviewing that". All those graphics and wait screens are a waste of time. As to features... it does your taxes. There aren't any other features. After spending about two hours on what the program said would take one and common sense says should take 30 minutes, my simple return cost me $100 so they could get me a return of $0. Had I not used this program and instead hand written the forms, I would have paid the government $0 and would've had to spend 78 cents on a stamp. So, no value here.

I paid 143 dollars for you to allow me to tell you what I made and tell the gov what I made even though everyone already knows. This has got to be the most insane timeline I've considered. WILD. It was not all the more convenient and I could have done it cheaper with a CPA. I picked the option that was "free". And it's not. So that's cool.
