I’ve used TurboTax as long as I can remember and although this year, I admittedly I’m late to doing my taxes the fact that I selected do it yourself, free TurboTax, and had to sacrifice almost half of my return because of fees that I didn’t want, but I apparently couldn’t void which is new to me using this program is just bad and I could not find any way to avoid it, which is bad on the interface and compatibility for me and other people

Really greedy company, says it is free to use on all ads and on the website but uses AI to determine free and rarely gives anyone the free version. Fees are to high for me doing l all the work and then makes you pay an additional 40 dollars after forcing you to spend over 100-150 dollars cause they are a greedy corporation who only cares about lining their pockets and not helping the public. We all know that the Government is paying you to help assist the public but still wants to find a way to make eve more money off of us for their own good. All together this is not okay.

Program is slow, takes a long time to move from page to page or clicking around the site/program. I compared with other programs, H&B and TaxAct etc. They are faster, but decided to go with TaxAct because it was easier to read and explanations where much informational.

Hidden fees... minus 4 stars. Simply having an HSA account, which had little tax contributions, required the $80 deluxe version. Additionally, filing taxes for our state required a fee (which was higher than the state taxes themselves)! Neither of these details were disclosed until the end. It would have taken less time, money, and effort to just go to a local tax service - which we will be doing next year!

I accidentally hit the expert review button and although I told the associate I did it by mistake she issued me service code that didn't work. by the time I got it figured out I had wasted one hour of my day. plus when I finally was issued a code that worked it was 20 percent off which did not cover the cost of the "expert advice" very frustrating!

I felt this year of doing my taxes was slightly more difficult than previous years that I've done this before on this web version. In the future I will likely do it on the desktop version, it's easier and the there are less ad's, popups, and hidden fees. Overall it would've been less expensive and easier to download the desktop version and completed it that way. The count down at the top stressed me out as it took me longer than what it said, I would've rather not had it, it felt like it should've been quicker due to that count down at the top right corner.

I don't appreciate how you qualify to file for free, but it keeps trying to change your return to a paid product. Then it won't let you file until you upgrade. I was given a coupon from a friend, and I had to try five times before TurboTax acknowledged my refer-a-friend coupon.

Pretty quick and painless to do yourself. However, this was the first time I had to file another state's tax return. The main thing was making the payment, since I owe, was needlessly confusing to the point I paid by the wrong method. I have always paid by using my bank account. They were pushing the file now, pay later which I didn't want. I had to back out of that and thought I was selecting credit for the other state income since it was so little. I ended up entering my bank info for the state return instead. So I ended up paying the state with my bank and credit card with my federal (which was much larger) instead of the other way around. I clicked submit and got an immediate notification on my phone of the payment for federal and got a service fee of of $53.16 for paying by credit card. Don't push the file, now pay later. Little miffed about that service fee. It also keeps asking to tack on additional services multiple times. If I didn't want it the first time, I'm not going to suddenly want it the next 3 times.

Information input was transferred accurately through most of the process. There were some duplicates that needed to be removed & information transferred to wrong person corrected. These issues were easy enough to correct. The option to copy documents & information input by app has never worked well. Therefore, I’m glad for the input yourself option. Skipping the scanning next time. Guidance was okay. Pages where they are wanting certain things signed that are not required need a back or continue button. I like the option to be able to ask questions. Some answers are helpful. I’d still recommend the product. Just stick to what you actually need.

I have been using Turbo Tax by myself for many years. What I like most about their service are that they are accurate in locating any information which is missing. Also they reply quickly to tell me if my returns have been accepted or not. I also appreciate the guidance or prompts they give me if I'm unsure how to answer the question or the question is unclear.
