Product sucks... Works slow and is painfurl to use

this product sucks. Been using Deluxe Desktop for years and was happy with it. Had same product this year and discovered while installing it would not work with Windows 10. The message said I should use online instead. Got a new laptop, but ran out of time to get working with Turbotax. When I started the long and difficult process of using online, I was told I would be able to apply the desktop purchase to the Online product use after all was entered. Only to find out that was a lie. I will never use TurboTax again.

Turbotax is helpful, easy, and very informative

I use TurboTax every year to file my taxes. I never have a problem and it helps file my taxes with ease and is very convenient. It takes the fees out of taxes which help when I don’t have money to pay and I get my refund every year and quickly through my bank.I also like how informative TurboTax is through the process with helping get the most tax breaks and what’s the best option for different things and also info on different situations I don’t understand.

Turbotax gets the job done

It's fine. Honestly, I have used this and others. Although the AI portion is convenient; I think everyone else also has that. But, I use this method because it's cheaper than going in person. I understand the securing your ID steps, but it feels more like they are just trying to capture more info for marketing purposes.

Confusing process, bad experience, not happy.

Confusing, a lot of times hard to understand, bad experience now, as opposed to the experience to years before. The prize of $79 was misleading and state tax fee of $64 was added at the end in addition making the whole process not only painful but expensive.

needs better auto fill options

when filling information from same payer, should offer autofill fill. I had to key manually several 1099-R. Name address, payer tin number where the same. Took more time than needed in this age also remove the nickname. No one wanted to spend all day trying to key in a name that’s already taken.

Pretty good this year

Not too bad this year. A bit less useless screens, animations, and popups; which is nice. Some roadblocks: "Unable to e-file" needed to file interest income as a workaround. Needed to find out whether I had or had to add a 1095-A. IP PIN screen, which I had no idea whether I needed it or where to get it. No idea why I got a state refund, and no way to see the exact reason. But the AI chat helped me self-navigate these issues. Still a bit pricey, even for the lowest tier; but filing taxes in one hour on the day they're due, is pretty impressive. Was able to use a cutting edge browser without issues, though I doubt older browsers work anymore (have had issues in the past). Seems accurate enough.

Turbo tax just wants your money

Every 5 minutes I am interrupted and asked to upgrade or allow TurboTax to use my info. This makes me very upset and frustrated. This process is also not very friendly for those that are eligible for a free return. Because the system doesn’t really want is to file free returns. Kind of a scam if you ask me.

Rejected!!!

You did not send us notices that our returns were rejected. As a result we now missed the 4/15 deadline. The amount we have to pay for federal taxes went up over $400 and we now had to pay you $150 for using your "free" service...I am very confused by all of this and will probably not be able to use Turbo tax anymore

This is not what I expected

The software was showing an error on the dependent's status worksheet. After going over the same error multiple times and deleting and re-preparing the return many times the glitch was resolved. Also after the glitch was cleared the price for the Deluxe went up to $99.00 it appears the glitch was there to remove the price shown when I started to increase the price. This is the last time I use TurboTax.

Consistently Bait & Switch Product Pricing

Every year, I get an on-screen offer from Turbo Tax for the cost of their suggested product, but they switch the price on you (same product) at the time of filing. I have a screenshot from Jan 25th where they offered the product I used for $49 (down from $79) with no codes offered, yet at the time of filing they insist on charging $69 for the same exact product with zero recourse. Shady practice, but a constant year-over-year thing I've noticed.
