At the end, TurboTax would not allow me to edit a field on the S.D. 100 form and I was stuck for several hours trying to edit and clear a field that was populated. I edited the form and did many things that wouldn't work. In the end I had to both delete the S.D 100 form and the withholding from the tax tools -form - delete and re-enter all the information. This was very painful and my worst Turbotax experience to date. I have used Turbo for many, many years now and this may be my last. I feel I should be owed a refund for this glitch.

Pretty quick and painless to do yourself. However, this was the first time I had to file another state's tax return. The main thing was making the payment, since I owe, was needlessly confusing to the point I paid by the wrong method. I have always paid by using my bank account. They were pushing the file now, pay later which I didn't want. I had to back out of that and thought I was selecting credit for the other state income since it was so little. I ended up entering my bank info for the state return instead. So I ended up paying the state with my bank and credit card with my federal (which was much larger) instead of the other way around. I clicked submit and got an immediate notification on my phone of the payment for federal and got a service fee of of $53.16 for paying by credit card. Don't push the file, now pay later. Little miffed about that service fee. It also keeps asking to tack on additional services multiple times. If I didn't want it the first time, I'm not going to suddenly want it the next 3 times.

Filing taxes was so easy, I loved that turbotax provided feedback on what everything meant and the return I was receiving. Login was so easy, love the code option if you forget your password. I paused my filing and received a call to see if I needed help which I appreciated.

So this is the supposedly free tax service, that people who do their own taxes use. After carefully putting in the information from my barely over $30,000 W2 in. I get back 7.00 after paying nearly 300.....for this "free" service. Just another American scam to take your money. Our country gets worse by the day.

The interface is terrible. Updated to 2026 from 2025, you took away helpful UI features such as time estimated. You're also charging multiple different fees just to use your service. Every single interaction on this website includes AI. Forcing me to upgrade to deluxe, making me pay a sum equal to the amount I would get back. Useless service. Accuracy . Compatibility. Guidance. You can't even accept a review without using AI generated review topics. everything about this sucks. And you're constantly asking if you can rip my data and wallet at every corner. Not even with review works at over 50wpm as its destroying my sentences as I type. Why have a profanity filter here if the only "thing" reading it will be an AI chatbot?

For one, I HATE the Ai. I am not paying TurboTax upwards of 200 dollars to file my taxes with a robot. For two, I am very irritated I had to file with Turbo premium due to my retirement account even though I made 9 dollars in contributions, as I had to pay 79 dollars for that. For three, it was very unintuitive in comparison to previous years. I did not use TurboTax last year and I will not be using it again in the future.

The turbo tax program works great for all the aspects that you would need to file your taxes! it will never get a 5 star rating from me because the company still lobbies to ensure the government makes me have to use this program to do my taxes every year instead of making it automatic. still an hour of my life I will never get back because TurboTax wants to extort money from us.

The software could be beta tested a bit more. I find some of the tax information should be able to transfer from prior years or from the federal tax filing. If I take a break from the state tax filing, it automatically returns to asking me about my residency which I answered 5 times. On the federal filing, it asked if I wanted to use the same employers as last year for W2s. This seemed helpful; I said yes, then the software imported the information but still asked if I wanted to use a W2 from the employer it already obtained. This is confusing.

I did not feel comfortable that I was doing things correctly and in the end I really didn't save much money by doing it myself. If I'd known before I started that I would be forced to upgrade price, I would not have started, but felt that I had too much time and info invested to back out. From now on I will pay a preparer for less that $25 more that this cost me.

Took forever to get almost half my refund back, over half went to your frees on a supposedly "free" product. And you slipped in another $44 for some premium service. I will NOT use your services in the future! I did most of the work, declined every upsell... I am advising my friends not to use this scam. If you advertise its free, it NEEDS to be free.
