Simple, easy to navigate and reliable.

After using Turbo Tax for many years, i feel very confident in the product. in fact, I've switched a few friends over. Private accounting firms charge way too much to simply plug in numbers you have to gather. I understand there are some tax situations an expert may be needed, but honestly -- once retired it's not complicated.

Confused

Being able to file online is beneficial - but sometimes it shows you that you do not have to file a certain form or return (example: Washington State Tax return - online it said I did not have to file with Washington then at the end it shows that I didn't complete it - very confusing

Turbo Tax is through

Usually I get a disc & use my computer with Windows 10. This year because of Intuit changes I had to use the On-Line version on a new computer with Windows 11. While this was easy to navigate it was a completely new process for me, with many ID verifications. I will continue to use Turbo Tax & hopefully will be more skilled next year.

Not user friendly

I've used TurboTax desktop for years. This online system is not as user friendly and cumbersome. It was confusing and did not let me e-file due to some needed code from the IRS. My information from previous years is in Turbo Tax so it seems like you should be able to provide this. I will not be doing this again.

A Masterclass in Corporate Greed and Deceptive Des

If I could give zero stars, I would. TurboTax is less of a financial service and more of a digital extortion racket wrapped in a shiny, gamified interface. First, let's talk about the absolute extortion they call "pricing." Their entire marketing campaign is built on the endless, repetitive lie of "Free, Free, Free," but it is a masterclass in the bait-and-switch. The moment you try to claim something as incredibly basic as a student loan interest deduction, unemployment, or dare to have a single 1099 for a side gig, you hit a massive paywall. They intentionally wait until you've sunk an hour into manually typing in your W-2s to suddenly hold your return hostage, demanding $80+ for a "Deluxe upgrade" that requires absolutely zero extra computing power on their end. Add on the state filing fees, and you're out over a hundred bucks just to pay your taxes. Then there is the disgustingly predatory UI. The entire platform is a minefield of dark patterns designed to trick you into making mistakes that benefit Intuit. The buttons to decline their overpriced "audit defense," refund processing fees, or "MAX benefits" are always tiny, grayed-out, and deliberately worded to make you feel stupid for clicking them. Meanwhile, the "Yes, take more of my money!" buttons are massive and glowing. Worse is their shameless data harvesting. Their information-sharing prompts are deliberately deceptive, tricking users into handing over their most sensitive financial data. They aren't just processing your taxes; they are mining your income, debts, and life circumstances so they can cross-sell you Credit Karma loans and bombard you with marketing for other Intuit junk. They treat your private IRS data like a cheap lead-generation tool. And let's not forget the most sickening part of all: Intuit spends millions of dollars every single year lobbying the U.S. government to keep the tax code complicated. They have actively fought against a free, simplified, government-run filing system for decades. They literally pay politicians to ensure filing your taxes remains a miserable, terrifying experience so you are forced to crawl back to their predatory software. Do yourself a massive favor and use literally anything else—FreeTaxUSA, Cash App Taxes, or the new IRS Direct File. Stop feeding this parasite of a company. Avoid TurboTax like the plague.

Turbo Tax is Terrible!

Turbo Tax is dripping with greed, after every page is another add for a tax adviser or identity protection, I was already forced to purchase the deluxe edition due to receiving unemployment. That's right they've gotten so greedy they are charging people who make less than 30k a year and lost their job, extra because the free version only includes a W2 form. I can't imagine a worse tax paying experience. Do not use this service try anything else and anyone else.

Do Not Use TurboTax

This was a very frustrating experience, I was forced to upgrade which I did not want to do and of course after I upgraded I was charged additional fees and now the after the fees, the original refund I would've received is less than the amount. I did not want to upgrade therefore that should have been an option, I will not be using Turbo Tax in the future and I do not recommend it to anyone.

Different from Turbo Tax software

I have used the Turbo Tax software for about a decade and was very happy with it. Since I didn't update my Windows from 10 to 11, I had use this online version, Because it works differently, initially I found it to be more difficult. However, the finishing, checking and e-filing went rather well. The difference in total $cost was much more. I will use this again next year.

Terrible Experience with Turbo Tax

It was an absolutely awful experience that took me hours and should have taken a very short time. I had an uncomplicated tax return, and initially thought I would use my credit card to pay what I owed, but saw that there was a convenience fee to process on a card, and changed the payment for my taxes to direct debit from my bank account. However, every time I would attempt to submit efile, it would ask for my credit card information even though I had deleted it and entered my bank account information instead. It would not allow my to ever e-file with my bank account debit information, and I reached out to Turbotax support online and by phone. They were also of no assistance. So I finally had no choice but to reenter my credit card information to pay the taxes and complete the process. I will never use Turbo Tax again. I was not worth the $150 charge or the convenience charge to my card--it was anything but convenient.
