I think if I pay $100+ for federal taxes, and my refund is only $3, then it would be nice if you threw in state taxes for free. $150 is a lot of money to pay for a fully automated system with almost no human involvement. However, despite my gripes about the cost, the system itself works very well, which is why I keep coming back. It's a great UX, with a very intuitive interface. My only complaint about the software side is that I should be able to override the "missing data" fields, specifically, the "taxes on my residence" item-- it kept asking me for a date on "p. 3, 4" which was not a field in the window that was open. I wanted to skip that part, but it wouldn't let me, so I just entered the last date of the year and kept it moving. Other than that, it was smooth sailing.

Y'all are super slimy. So many sneaky hidden fees. Like I figured out just in time that y'all were about to charge $40 for me to have my refund deducted from my return. If I pay the TT fees with my credit card, I save $40. I don't think the $178 worth of "extra add-ons" of TurboTax fees (required in order to file) benefited me. It also took longer than the time it said it would. And I kept being asked the same questions on a loop, like 4x.

NEED MORE INSTRUTION OR LANGUAGE CLARIFICATION. I HAVE BEEN USING TURBO TAX FOR 20 YEARS AND NEVER HAD SO MUCH TROUBLE AS I DID THIS TIME. AND IF I HAVE TO CONTINUE TO PAY $100 JUST TO ADD ONE FORM SCHEDULE E, THEN I MAY AS WELL GO TO A PROFESSIONAL. NOT WORTH THE AGGRAVATION TO DO IT MYSELF.

I have always loved and used Turbo Tax. But I gave it one less star this year because of the way the design has changed. In the past it had a very clear way through the system. You knew where you were in the time line of filing, and could switch easily from section to section. Now, it just gets you answering questions, and you find yourself lost and not knowing where you are or where different sections are. It was VERY frustrating! I had to use Chat GPT to help me get through it this year, as your own internal system wasn't helping me at all.

The format changes throughout the years which makes it complicated to file from year to year. The program is only as smart as the information you put in so somethings the program doesn't ask the right question which can lead to hours of work to figure out what information it needs. In addition it isn't fun to be nickeled and dimed throughout the process but overall it provided a service with the intended results within an allowable amount of which i was willing to pay.

Very helpful in getting taxes done. But very sneaky in how they try to upgrade you to the next higher tier format and you end up paying more than you need to. I wanted Deluxe that I’ve used for 10 years but somehow this year after completing everything it tells me I’m using the premium version. I either have to waste several hours transferring everything to a different one or pay for the more expensive one.

This application process is not forthright with fees. They charge a $40 fee to use money from your tax return, but they don't tell you till after you advance to the next screen. This technique takes advantage of people's impatience/depleted mental energy to the end of turning a buck. Not a fan of this practice.

I feel the extra $40 charge for paying for he turbo tax fee, as little to much. Yoo are already paying at $99 dollars for using TurboTax and then they want an extra $40 for withdrawing that fee from your return. It's not like they're not getting their money, but talk about being greedy!!
