Prior two years with Turbotax have been great. A couple of hiccups this year: One, at first, even with multiple tries, it was calculating a Massachusetts tax penalty even though none was merited. In the end, though, it came through with no penalty, probaby by finally propagating through the Fed 2210. Two, it seems to think I have a foreign asset even though I said I did not multiple times. Was unable to fix that, but it does not impact the return so I went ahead.

I was not happy withTurboTax this year. In several cases with regard to my Federal return I thought some of the instructions were worded vaguely, and some of the editable items were not editable (i.e., you click on something to update, add, or edit and nothing happens). I found a work-around, but it wasn't obvious. With my Oklahoma State return, I had to enter the date acquired on a form listing my stock market investments. If I entered the acquired date wrong and wanted to go back and correct it, the form would not let me change it. Lastly, TurboTax needs to back off on asking to purchase a more expensive version of their service. I was asked to do so several times after logging in, and it became annoying. Once is enough!

I still like using TurboTax for completing my filing each year and I still dislike go through the "rare instances" section towards the end. I think Intuit should have a box that can be checked in the beginning that ask if there are any new changes in how or what you need to file or claim this new year. For those that answer 'no" or don't check the box, then both Intuit and the customer will expect to not have to go through the "rare instances" section at the end.

I like that it is handy, but I dislike the constant pressure of upselling that they do, it's rude and frustrating. Like it kept saying "hey add turbo max" when that wasn't a product that helped me be able to file at all, but it doesn't explain that. Just keeps pushing it at you.

The fact that I am completely barred from making changes to my forms until you guys decide it's necessary and sometimes even THEN don't let me change them is stupid. I understand you make your money confusing people so they have to call your experts but it's evil and your user interface is extremely inaccessible. some of us literally don't have the option to mail in returns and the fact that you try to make me spend excessive amounts of money to file my taxes that I already can't afford to pay JUST because I also have a 1099 and not just a w-2 is ridiculous. I am a full time college student receiving no financial aid from my parents with $30 to my name. This service is overpriced, the parameters are extremely unfair, and your website isn't even easy to use. If I get any response to this complaint I would like an actual explanation for why filing a 1099 instead of a w-2 means I have to pay $140 instead of nothing.

Everything went fine as usual with the exception that for 2024 TurboTax added the ability to efile for local taxes. One of the submittal was rejected due to TurboTax not including my completed State tax form in the efiling. I ended up having to do it myself.

I completed my taxes only because I have been using it for years. It is easy to sign in. I also like not having to enter personal information into another software. I also like that I can get it started and come back after gathering information later.

I have used Turbo Tax for about 30+ years and for some reason this year was the most difficult ever. It was very difficult to maneuver around and to find things. At one point it somehow changed my filing status which completely messed up my return and it took me quite a while to figure out how to change it back.

Decently user friendly, but FAR too expensive. A lot of prompts to add things, pay extra, hidden fees that they don't tell you about until the end. Unfortunately, I had already input all my information and wasn't interested in doing that again somewhere else. So it cost me $170 just to file federal and state. Absolutely insane.

I've used turbo Tax since before I was able do my own. I learned from my aunt who was doing my parents taxes, and she taught me at 16 years old so I could do them for them. I'm 45 years old now so like I said have been using this product a majority of my life. It's a great software to use for beginner and advance tax preparers.
