Lots of ads and upsell pushes, especially for someone like me who is paying for the service. Also, at the very end of the process there are often random screens that TurboTax asks me to complete. They are like PDF versions of my tax forms and most of the time I have to research to see what these specific items mean. Seems like a wizard could take care of this for me.

I've used Turbo Tax for years and enjoy their product and service. This year was a little more stressful because I worked out of state and had to file for two states. It was very difficult and stressful and it made what is normally a smooth and stress free process into a nightmare.

I will never use TT again. Every other screen asks me to sign up for a higher service level, again and again and again, and there is so much repetition. I got asked the same thing countless times. If I had any hair left, I would have been pulling it out.

Constantly keeps pushing for you to upgrade to their services when you've already opted to file yourself. At the end when I it asked to pay for filing, was given the option to just take the payment from the federal funds instead of using a card to pay it. I chose that option only for it to still ask me for my card information and wouldn't let me proceed until that was done, taking money from my card to make the payment instead of taking from the funds like it said it would so I better get the full federal funds instead.

I don't like that you took the refund/payment calculator away through the process like you had it before. And I don't like that you can't search an item and it takes you right to that part of the return. For example, I missed putting in the FSA and had to go back and find where it was and then answer all the questions over again.

While I've always done my taxes with TurboTax I will now be switching. They have changed their policy to exclude National Guard members from their free filing. As someone on full time enlisted orders this was disappointing to find out - after filling out all my tax paperwork.

Don't like it and next year I'll probably switch to H&R Block after decades with Turbo Tax. They're always trying to sell you stuff. My taxes are pretty straight forward and because I had a 1099-div, I had to upgrade for them to finish to the most expensive. Not a fan.

Turbo Tax made me file under a higher cost because very small buy of stock on Robinhood which was not worth the amount of paying an additional $89.00. That was completely unfair because my investments were very small. If I sold hundreds or thousands of dollars of stocks and bonds, maybe I can see that it was worth being FORCED to buy into the premium plan. This was unfair and a rip off.

Navigation is terrible. Going forward and especially backwards to pages doesn't work. Instructions from the company to ammend a return say to go to pages that don't exist on the site. And there are different sites for Intuit and TurboTax. Confusing and not very easy to use.

Federal seems fine. However, they made a mistake when transferring data to my state forms. And there's no way to correct the state forms. So now I need to amend my state return and it's a big pain. The help says you can choose which form to file, either federal or state or both. I only chose federal, and it transmitted both return anyway. I'm disappointed with the fact that turbotax is removing the ability to correct and tweek their errors.
