I have what they've done with this.

This is officially the worst experience I've had with turbotax. I have never been more frustrated with doing taxes than I have today. I am absolutely going to find a new software package for both my taxes and my business bookkeeping. Intuit has made there software about as complicated and user unfriendly as possible.

Super Easy and Stress-Free Tax Filing!

TurboTax made my tax filing process smooth and hassle-free. The step-by-step guidance ensured I didn't miss any deductions. The interface is user-friendly, and the refund estimate feature was accurate. Highly recommended for anyone who wants an easy and efficient tax filing experience!

TurboTax - easy to use, but secretly extractive

I really appreciate having an online service to take care of my taxes, and TurboTax's website is visually engaging and loaded with algorithmic rules to ensure that mistakes are not made. However, the charging tactics that TurboTax employs are intentionally non-transparent. At the end, I had a $45 "Premium Services" fee tacked on, which I never elected for. I have very simple taxes for which I did not need this service. In fact, NO SERVICE WAS RENDERED! Effectively, they took an additional 5% cut on my returns. Why does the government not have its own internet service to avoid this extraction? Shame on you, TurboTax, for these furtive means of profiteering. I will not recommend you to anyone else. And go figure, the terms and conditions indemnify Intuit for these garbage practices.

Unannounced policy change

While I've always done my taxes with TurboTax I will now be switching. They have changed their policy to exclude National Guard members from their free filing. As someone on full time enlisted orders this was disappointing to find out - after filling out all my tax paperwork.

Add/Edit function on investments screwed up!

This year you did something weird with the entering of interest and dividends. I clicked on Add/Edit and it seemed I could only ADD new investments and not EDIT previous year's investments. At the end with the review is said I had TWO of the same investments, so I deleted one set. Very confusing. I like the old way where it showed the previous year's investment that were copied forward and you could Edit or Delete.

LOATH ENTIRELY

Every year it makes me get the premium to file my taxes even though all my information is already inputted just because I put ONE thing extra on my taxes. I only get half of my return because the other half is used to pay this horrible product. I will never use Turbo Tax again.

A few problems

I did not like my inability to look at the tax forms until the very end, and even then I could not see all of the worksheets. Also, you did not show all of the modifications to my Maryland state income on your automated help sheet. Otherwise, TurboTax worked fine.

OK, but major miss on room and board expenses.

Major flaw is the inability to enter non-1099-T room and board expenses (e.g., off campus) when entering 1099-Q or 1099-T data. I kept going back to each section and could not find a way to enter. There was only the ability to enter books and fees. I had to run the return, SEE the excess 529 distribution and then go BACK into Turbo Tax to enter. At that point, there was an edit section to enter the room and board. There was no warning during the review about excess 529 distributions and suggestion to re-visit and question about room and board. I can imagine many people trusting that Turbo Tax identified all deductions and this is a MAJOR miss as most students at some point have expenses not reported on 1099-T. Also, it would be nice to click into the return as you go to see what the impact is after completing each section vs waiting until the end. I would be willing to pay earlier to have this access (I can understand not wanting to show the return until payment is made).

Turbo Tax is trustworthy

Filing with Turbo Tax was easy and quick. I considered filing directly with the IRS, but with all the firing of personnel I decided to go with a company that was experienced and I had dealt with before. The filing fee was worth the peace of mind I felt filing with Turbo Tax.

TurboTax is Awesome!

Client for 10 years. Easy to use and lots of information available through online Intuit discussion groups. Unless you're dealing with complex financial situation (e.g.,ownership interest in a bunch of partnerships) you can do your own taxes, usually in less than two hours, and save a bundle.
