Mapping over errors from FED to NE State

Many cross-referencing errors due to bad mapping errors from Federal return into NE return. Getting VERY EXPENSIVE to file for multiple states and ONE single investment form for a ($27) loss reporting to IRS. Had to upgrade to PREMIUM for 1 single entry of a 1099-B. May have to reconsider other product next year.

TurboTax is a S-C-A-M

THIS IS A RIP OFF. Way too difficult to go through and not accidentally add things you don't want. Little transparency in what they are charging you for. Be sure to click on their FAQ page about all the potential charges you can have ( i.e. "premium", paying for your fees through you refund *costs* you more money, etc.)

Turbotax Used to be Excellent. Not Anymore.

For years, I used a download of Turbotax to my desktop or laptop to complete my tax returns and transmit them via Turbotax/Intuit. This year, I was no given that option. That is problem number 1. I would rather not give Intuit access to my tax return data, other tan the file necessary to submit the returns. Problem Number 2 was that because I had not filed with Turbotax before, my capital loss carry-forward was not included on my return. The system did not automatically ask me whether I had a loss carry-forward. It took 45 minutes and a call to the help desk to finally locate the instructions to actually enter the loss carryforward. This is a major regression in the software. The software used to always ask if I had a carry-forward. It makes me wonder what other questions the system should have asked me but didn't. This software used to be incredibly user-friendly. It isn't any more. The software also does not automatically give the option to print the returns and all the schedules. I was able to print the returns, but not the supporting schedules. I should not have to hunt for that function. It should appear AUTOMATICALLY. I will likely not use Turbotax for my taxes in the future.

TurboTax Is a Money Grab – Constant Upsells

TurboTax used to be a reliable option, but now it feels like a complete money grab. Every two seconds, it tries to trick you into upgrading, even when you don’t need to. I had one extra form for dividends, and suddenly, I was forced to pay $109 just to file. There’s no transparency, and the constant upsells make the process frustrating. Other tax software offers the same services for way less (or even free!). Definitely looking for a new option next year—don’t fall for the bait and switch.

TurboTax saved me time

Made doing my taxes so easy. Process was very fast because I used it last year and most of my info was the same. I only gave 4 stars because of pricing. I feel like $139 was a bit much for the standard service. Maybe $100 would have been more reasonable. I went with TurboTax because I used it last year, so I guess the extra $39 was for convenience. Otherwise, I may have tried another preparer.

Boo. Over Priced!!! Over Hyped !!

Was told that if i filed through app that I wouldn't get a fee since I didn't file through the app. Tried every way I could and still couldn't get it for free. Also, lots of confusion on 1099s. Felt like I went through 5k verifications every time the page refreshed

Stupidest Fees!

Shouldn't have to pay fees on top of fees, especially since I'm required to use a higher priced version of this just because of one of the forms I used, can't file anywhere else either because I make too much money! Ridiculous especially where I do all the work myself!

Beware of service fee to pay out of your refund.

We were dissatisfied to see that we would have to pay a $40 service fee on top of the $99 in order to have TurboTax withdraw the money from our refund to pay for their services. I feel that should be included in the $99. It must already be a part of one of the higher packages that we opted out of. We have seen the price go up every year and will be looking for a different service to do our taxes next year.

Good experience except for the sneaky tactics

I like aspects of the software, like how easy it generally is to navigate and the additional information you can get when you need it. However, I do not like how frequently and at times sneakily they try to get you to spend more on their services. A good example of this is the view towards the end that looks like it is about how you want to receive your funds (direct deposit to your credit karma account or your bank account up to 5 days earlier). I missed the "no thanks" at the bottom indicating that this screen was optional and was surprised to see $70 of additional fees added for "processing". Going back through I figured it out and how to remove it, but it just felt so underhanded and sneaky.

COULD BE BETTTER

SOME OF THE QUESTIONS ARE AMBIGUOUS FOR NON FINANCIAL USERS. OCCASIONALLY THE USER GETS CAUGHT IN A LOOP HAVING TO REPEAT DATA INPUTS ON FORMS THAT WERE ALREADY COMPLETED. AFTER COMPLETING SOME 1099-INT AND 1099-DIV FORMS WAS LATER ASKED IF I WANTED TO DELETE THEM???
