It was more confusing this year than last year. I thought that some sections were being revisited in a loop and the process accidentally made me enter my W2 twice. I thought it was weird and the transition buttons were not clear in guiding between different sections. On a positive note, I liked the use of LLMs to review if any further tax breaks could be obtained.

While TurboTax makes tax preparation easy and it seems to be very thorough with identifying tax breaks, it is a bit frustrating to walk through all the questions for itemizing and take a significant amount of time to gather the information only to be told the standard deduction is far greater than if you itemize. I could have been done SO much quicker if all I had to do was enter a total for my medical expenses to see if it made sense to itemize. T software makes you separate these expenses into different categories that was very time consuming. Also, the checkout and finalization process could be streamlined. Like I'm done and ready to file yet the process takes too much time for what it is. Other than these two gripes, TurboTax is efficient and well organized. Each year it seems to be more streamlined.

Very frustrating experience, and I work in software. Lots of bugs. File uploads but software does not parse values correctly. Lots of "review this form" but not clear what needs to be reviewed. After reviewing and confirming, still sent back to review over and over again. Threats to pay $59 or your state taxes will be deleted despite signing up for promotion to free e-file.

I feel like I was scammed to pay for premium when I don't think I needed it. TurboTax makes it tricky on purpose to be able to tell which produce works best for me. I did not even know that filing free was an option for me until after I had submitted payment and realized it seemed very high. I would appreciate a partial refund for a product that more accurately aligns with what I actually needed to pay. I've been a customer for many years, and I'm really considering leaving TurboTax next year if this isn't at least addressed by someone.

I usually like TubroTax, but they forced me to use a more expensive product featuring a live tax review, which I neither needed nor wanted. It cost way more, and there was no way to switch out to the standard "do it myself" option after it was selected! Rather than showing a side by side of the various TurboTax products I could use, it forced me to only select from the one. I didn't realize that I was unable to switch until I had finished my federal and state taxes after hours, and hours of work! After doing some digging, I learned that I had to erase my progress and literally start a the beginning again to find the small print button that would let me change my product rather than clicking continue on the singular option shown. So, after erasing my hours of work to start over, I missed the deadline for filing. I wouldn't have missed it if I didn't have to start all the way over again. Needless to say, I'm rather upset.

The online TurboTax is horrible compared to the downloaded version. I only used it because TurboTax forced me to by making the downloaded product incompatible with Windows 10. There is no way to add supporting details, such as showing calculations that lead to an entry. They also make it very difficult to see the actual tax forms, while also making it hard to quickly check a particular entry without enduring endless dialogs.

I have used Turbo tax for years and purchased what I thought was this year's disc only to find out it doesn't support my version of windows...very frustrating so I used the online version, and it worked as TT usually does. However, when time to file two big issues. 1. it did not recognize last year's return, and I had to go back to the software to get the AGI numbers to file. 2. South Carolina software has not been updated and therefore created a dilemma on whether to file or wait until October when the state is updated. Also gives no help on how to handle a SSA re-do situation when withdrawing the benefit until another time due a work opportunity.

This was my first time using TurboTax in many years (H&R Block was free and/or affordable to veterans for a time). I did find entering and importing data to be very easy and explanations and information about filing requirements very helpful. The only reason I did not rate this product as a 5 is because it would not allow me to finalize and e-file my Arizona state taxes as a result of a requirement to include the payor name for out-of-sate municipal bond interest. As a result of the inability to include this information though TurboTax I was unable to e-file and required to print and mail my return and by check. Seems like it would be an easy fix for TurboTax to include an option to include the information.

You are amazing as always, although I have to admit this is way less scarier now I have an AI friend on the web (I just make sure I don't share private info when asking for help) that helps me answer your questions. It has become so much easier with that. You may want to integrate an AI assistant alongside your help boxes too <3

After I finished my taxes the first time turbo tax conned me into expert review and to remove that product that i had to ERASE MY TAXES AND START ALL OVER or be charged $299. You knew what you are doing. Crappy design choice to such more money from people.
