As someone new to American Mahjongg and eager to practice at home, I first purchased a $20 tile set. It was functional, but there was no spark. Later, I saw the Lunar New Year Fire Horse set at Sam's Club and hesitated because I couldn't see or touch the tiles before buying. A week later, I went back and purchased the Fire Horse Starter Kit — and OMG, what a game changer! Everything about this set is beautiful: the tiles, the colors, the mat, the pushers, the carrying case, and the bag. The moment I set it up, I felt excited to play and practice. It completely changed the experience for me. I highly recommend this starter kit for anyone who wants a beautiful Mahjongg set at a realistic price. Everything you need is included: tiles, mat, dice, beginner book, tile case, and carrying bag. Since then, I've purchased two more JoyC tile sets: Bloom and Wildlife. What impressed me even more was the customer service. I accidentally damaged some of my tiles and emailed JoyC asking how to prevent the issue in the future. I was very clear that the damage was my fault. They responded within minutes and mailed replacement tiles immediately. Excellent customer service in 2026? That alone deserves recognition. Great job, JoyC — and Sam's Club too for carrying such a wonderful product line.

This is a great set! The colors are so beautiful. It comes with everything you need to start playing. The racks are great. The pushers are not attached but that’s ok. Great instructions if you use the QR code on the box. Very good explanations of the tiles, and how to play the game. I purchased all three versions they sold this year. The Lunar New Year set is my favorite JoyC mahjong set of the sets I’ve purchased.

This is my first Mahj set and as a newer player I couldn’t be happier with it! It comes with everything you need! The mat and tiles are great quality, the colors are vibrant and even came with the tile flippers! So happy I bought this set and love the year of the horse theme!

Some of the tiles are printed with pale yellow ink and they are nearly unreadable. I had to take a permanent marker to color it in. The bag, carrying case are great. The tiles are chunky and a fun color on the backside. The mat is “meh” but fine overall. The price for the set is awesome.

Everything is well made. Tiles are beautiful and the theme is fun. In play though, there are issues. Unfortunately the tiles have very small numbers. My 89 YO mother can't read the numbers across the tables on exposures. Also when jokers are mingled with craks in an exposure, they blend in, making it hard to see jokers available for exchange. First time we played with this set, my weekly group said, “I'll bring my set next time.” ☹️

This product is definitely first-rate. I bought this game recently and was seriously amazed when I unpacked it. I could immediately tell it was a very well made version of the Mahjong board game. I'd go as far to say it's comparable to the more expensive versions sold on other websites but with a much better price tag. As I am new to playing the board game version, I would have preferred some additional instructions but I've been able to find a few online tutorials that seem to be helpful so far. I am really excited and looking forward to enjoying this game with friends and family.

This game is a high quality game. The tiles are sturdy, smooth and engraved for longevity. The game feels authentic and durable. The case for the tiles and the bag for carrying the entire game is a bonus for storage. This is a great addition for family game nights. I would recommend this set to anyone starting or wanting to upgrade their current set.

Wow this is a serious mahjong set. I enjoyed playing the computer version and thought to try the physical version as well. This looks ssimilar to the Windows computer puzzle gane but this one is more involved. Comes with the tiles and also dice, chips, racks, and protective cases for the tiles and another one with straps to transport everything. Fun for the whole family!
