It’s really easy to use, and I like that everything feels sturdy and not cheap. The rice comes out fluffy, not mushy, and cleanup is simple which already puts it ahead of half the appliances I own. The size is great for everyday meals without taking over the counter. I knocked off a star only because it takes up more space than a basic rice cooker, but overall it’s been genuinely helpful and I use it way more than I expected.

Firstly, in low carb mode, it separates the extra carbs from the rice. How cool is that? It makes an already healthy dish even healthier. The inside bowl is nonstick and very easy to clean. I dont say that lightly either. I absolutely hate washing dishes but this is very easy to take out and wash. The unit itself isnt too heavy so its not bad in terms of storage and moving it around. The rice comes out delicious. The coolest feature, in my opinion, is how it has separate modes for each type of rice. Ive never seen a rice cooker with this many features before and I think the value here is outstanding.

It reduces the carb content of white rice if you use low carb mode, but you can also use it for cooking regular rice. It took 40 minutes to cook white rice with this GreenPan, result is delicious, perfectly cooked white rice! I used it for our bibimbap recipe. I loved that it doesn’t have toxic materials, also easy to clean, comes with a rice scoop! Size is also good for a rice cooker, when I need it I place it on the counter. It has different settings and different options, from rice to oats, even beans! I gave 4 stars just because even it says 8 cup rice, the max amount of low carb rice you can make is 2 cups or 2 and half.

It comes with a little carb tray, that reduces carbs by 37%. When using the carb tray it looks like it's catching/removing some of the starchy water from the rice. Greenpan isn't simply a rice cooker, it can cook different grains, beans, and steel-cut oats. Steel-cut oats take a long time to make, and they can be tricky, but they have a lot of nutrients. So I bought some oats and tried it out. The results are wonderful. They taste so good. It's easy to use, with 10 different preset buttons, and cleaning it up is easy.

I rinse my rice over 4x before cooking and it STILL caught over HALF a bowl of excess starch… let’s just say, the starch was escorted out peacefully lol. This reduces carbs by over 30% or more and that alone has my heart! Best of all, the rice was perfect, not mushy or slimy at all like my old rice cooker..RIP to that ol thing! can eat rice without the guilt spiral! That alone is a WIN! Bonus points: it’s not just a rice cooker, I’ve made beans, oatmeal and quinoa in it and EVERYTHING came out perfectly fluffy and cooked. The ONLY downside is the cook time—-it can take 45min-1 hour but honestly? WORTH IT! I’d rather wait a bit longer for cleaner, lighter rice that doesn’t make me feel blah afterwards.
