My dad wanted to get my son a Power Wheel when he turned 3. So I picked out this one because I thought the open back to put things in would be perfect for him as kids like to load up things then dump them, plus he could help his dad pick up sticks in the yard. This was 4 years ago...who knew a toy could get so much use!! We've had this 4 years and it's still going strong. It's played with all the time. It's on it's 3rd kid now and has had tons of things loaded in the back both for play and to help with yard work. The tires are bald and have been for years, but it still goes well enough. The battery is just now starting to get tired and we'll have to replace soon but as much as this has been played with over the years, I'm surprised it didn't wear sooner. This is one of the best toys bought for my kids. We've had extended family see how much it's enjoyed here and now I have 2 nephews/nieces have the same one at their house.

The Gator is a great ride on toy for kids. After a few weeks this device has withstood plenty of collisions in the yard and keeps going. One note to parents - the assembly instructions are among the worst I have ever read. Take your time when assembling (A little over an hour which includes all the decals) and this Gator should last.

I am so impressed with this gator. My son rode this thing everyday and it lasted him 3 years! I never expected it to last over a few months but it surpassed all of my expectations. The dump bed did stop working about a year after we got it but that never stopped him from being able to have fun.

Bought this as a gift for Christmas. The kids didnt get to use it until yesterday, 4/5 because of the weather. It worked for a whole 20 mins becore just stopping. Recharged the battery and everything and it STILL doesnt work!! Im furious, $400 is a lot of money for us, and its now just wasted. DO NOT BUY, this John Deer ride on is a rip off!

This product stopped working properly about 6 months after my kids got it for christmas. They would be riding and it would stop, wait a few seconds and it would go again. Just kept doin this.. They cant even enjoy their christmas present.. The company wanted me to pay shipping for a replacement part that they couldnt even tell me for sure would fix it. Paying over $400 for something, it should last longer than 6 months..

I bought this for my sons's 2nd birthday, while he is able to touch the pedal he has a hard time pushing the pedal, steering and watching where he is going. No doubt, in a few months I know he will be driving the gator everywhere. My daughter is almost 4 and LOVES to drive her brother around. It drives great on flat roads/grass but struggles a tad to go up hills. They love the back of the gator, they toss their garen tools, babies, snacks, water in the back and go. Its fantastic! I wanted something they both could use and the Gator is perfect! It's so nice to go on a walk and not have to push a dbl stroller.

So far this is the best birthday gift you can buy for a child. My only complaint is the dump bed secure pins. I had to modify them in order for them to actually stay in place. Not sure if it manufacturing mistake or it's made that way but I had to melt some plastic to get the piece in place. Overall this will be a fantastic long lasting toy

If you want to pay $400.00 for something that will only last for 1 year, this is the one! I'm going to assume that most people who reviewed this item, reviewed it soon after they got it. At first it seems great. One year later (and it has not been used excessively) it has a wheel that is completely cracked in half. The other 3 wheels are starting to crack. The steering wheel falls off every few uses because the bolt comes loose. The tailgate busted off without much force. If you buy this, keep your receipt!!! Unfortunately I didn't and now we're out $400.00. The thing won't drive anymore with a busted wheel.

Aside from having a somewhat low battery life, which is understandable, I really am disappointed in the tires. I wish they were rubber, or at least had a rubber coating. It doesn't always ride smoothly and get stuck if you have bumps in your lawn. And they're starting to get flattened more since it's cheap plastic. i've been looking around for something I can put on the outer side of the tire to help it get better traction. Other than that, my kids have a lot of fun on it.

This toy looks awesome and my son loves it but it amazes me it looks like it is going to fold in half when he sits down. He is only 35lbs and when he sits down the floor looks like it is going to fold in half. I am surprised there isn't more structure underneath to stiffen the whole thing up.
