Hours of fun for the grandkids

My grandson has had this for a little over a year and a half and the only problem we have with it is the steering wheel bolt comes out. That’s kind of a pain but really not a terrible issue. We keep an extra battery on the charger but the batteries seem to last a long time.

My grandson only rode 5 or 6 times last summer . We put up and this year the battery is no good. The battery is $69.99 for this toy. You can't use just any 12 volt battery it has to be the one that has the wire on the battery to connect to the vehicle . the gear shift also slides . Well built other than that. The plastic tires will not do anything but spin if your not on flat ground.

Battery life is poor / gearbox

Original battery lasted just over a year before it started lasting about 10 minutes on a full charge. The replacement batteries dont seem to last very long either. Now the gearbox has went out within a couple months of the warranty running out. Imagine that! My kids don't even ride this thing that much. For the money I was expecting better quality. I guess I should've known since they readily sell replacement gearboxes and other parts right on the Peg Perego website. I'll be glad when my kids outgrow this thing so I can stop spending money on it.

Poor Quality

We bought the Gator Feb 2021 and spring 2022 battery doesn’t last more than 20 min. We do have hills on our property but it should last longer than 20 minutes. Battery was stored inside all winter long. Definitely not worth $300 we paid. Very disappointed in this purchase.

Kids love it

The kids love it but the instructions and build weren’t the best... tailgate breaks rather quickly but you can get bolts to replace the flimsy plastic that breaks off and it’ll stay on! So far all the littles love driving it around and helping with yardwork and even hauling groceries from the car to the house for us. Buy a spare battery! It was due for recharge after one afternoon.

Not Overly Impressed

Granted, we have only had this a couple of days, but from what I can tell thus far, it is not super fabulous. This is our first time owning a Power Wheels type of vehicle, so maybe I should not be writing a review, but I just expected more out of it. Our yard is generally flat without hills, but is not super smooth if that makes sense. My 4 year old has a difficult time getting over certain minor "humps" in our yard when it seems as something like this should be easily able to make it. The overall appearance of it is cute. It seems cheaply made though and for $400+ it just seems as though it should be a bit better quality. I feel like if my kids run into something (which is bound to happen the minute I take my eye off of them - my daughter is still learning how to drive it), it will crack. It is difficult to find a solid place for an adult to grip if they want to move it or adjust it if the kiddos get stuck some place. The age rating on it does not seem appropriate. My it is probably ideal for my 4 year old, but I cannot imagine her being able to fit in this at age 7. She is average size for her age - not taller nor heavier. I think she might be able to use it next summer and MAYBE squeeze into it as she is turning 6, but that will be pushing it. Perhaps I will have to come back and adjust my review as we use it more, but this is my observation so far. I just feel like for $400+, we should have received more for our money. The wild thing is, after reading numerous reviews, this Power Wheels like ride on was one of the top rated. Hmmm. We will see.

Hope it works as expected

Haven't been able to let my son try it out yet since it's a Christmas present. However the instructions are kind of a pain to read. The pictures aren't the best. I knew when I ordered it didn't have working buttons or lights but the amount of stickers to put on are ridiculous. Cheaper brands have better features

Peg Perego

Easy to put together and seems very durable. It runs well. Have had good experience with the brand. Have had the Peg Perego tractor for six years, and it still runs very well and looks great despite sitting out in the weather and getting used frequently by two young boys.

3 year old loves it.

We bought this for my sons 3rd birthday he LOVES it. I think they are a bit over priced but you pay for the name John Deere. For the $400 I wish they had more options like headlights, lights or sounds maybe even a horn on it. I would buy it all over again though my son loves it. He even rides his 1year old brother around :)

Go Gator Go

We have had the gator for 2 weeks now and it is a hit with everyone. Very easy for small children to use. Takes about 45 minutes to assemble (including the stickers). The parts were all manufactured well and fit as they should. Note: this ride on toy is fairly large, so have somewhere to park it once assembled. When picking it up form the store bring a truck. The box it comes in is huge. Rated it four (4) stars for this primary reason: there is no power or kill switch of any kind. My little guy jumps on it all of the time and just takes off, even when just sitting in it playing. This happened inside the house immediately after assembly... It needs a switch or key for parental control. Currently we keep the battery disconnect until we are supervised and ready to ride. We are interested to see how it holds up to regular use and abuse when all of his buddies are around.
