Wouldn't buy or recommend

I bought this for my son. I've had peg perego products in the past but I am extremely disappointed with this purchase. First thing is the battery it came with is junk. I charged for 24 hrs first time and it only lasts 20-30 min and then takes a full 24 hrs to recharge. The second issue is the dump box release broke off after only using a handful of times. I've had the tractor and fourwheeler and those were great but I would definitely not buy the gator again. Really dissatisfied with the battery situation.

Hours of fun for the grandkids

My grandson has had this for a little over a year and a half and the only problem we have with it is the steering wheel bolt comes out. That’s kind of a pain but really not a terrible issue. We keep an extra battery on the charger but the batteries seem to last a long time.

Worth every penny!!

We got this for my 2 (now 3) year old last Christmas and I was just Christmas shopping for this year, saw it, and decided to write a review. Our son has driven the crop out of it and it still works great. It stays out in the rain and has made it through all four seasons. The battery lasts days of riding it a while each day. We are extremely happy we chose this one!!

The plastic wheels just spin on grass, concrete, gravel unless I walk along side my grand son and hold down on side of car to give drive wheel weight for traction. Not much fun doing it this way if you have remedy please let me know. I don't like when I have to try to figure out how to make it work right out of the box. You know it did cost me about $350 dollar be nice if it worked. Fred

A big hit!

We hid it from my grandson until all the stickers were on and the batter was charged. The next day when he saw it in the garage he had a big smile on his face. He loves to use the dump bed to fill up with things around the yard. He wants to ride it every morning when he gets up. He smiles every time he rides it.

Great if your land is flat!

We bought this for our 3 year old son, he has wanted it for a year! It looks very sharp, and my husband had no problems assembling, just an hour. My complaints are the tires spin out unless you are driving on completely flat land. It states that it is for 3-8 yr. olds, I also have a 6 & 8 year old boys, and my 6 year old has to sit sideways as the passenger with his legs hanging out the side, because there is no leg room, I won't let the 8 yr. old sit on it. For right now the big brothers follow along behind to push it when it gets stuck, but my 3 yr. old thinks it is great fun!

Great ride on

We bought this for our sons 3rd birthday and he loves it!! In my opinion it was way too much money for cheap plastic but it's been almost a month since our son got it and every day he wants to go outside and ride his gator. so it was worth every penny if it makes him that happy!

Put battery in easier to reach place

We had the older version of this gator and needed to replace it with a new one. All of our kids have loved these ride on gators! The cons od the new version; I don't like where the battery is to take out and put in when needing charged, it a pain. And the battery has to charge for a day and a half to run for 2hrs b4 the battery runs dead. Our 3 yr old rides this by himself, so it's not like it's a heavy load to drain the battery faster. The stickers do not stay on! We've had this a month and all the stickers are starting to come off. It's stored in our garage when not in use, so it's not because of weather. Best fir fkat yards or blacktop. Pros; my son loves this and is the highlight of his day! We like that you can load things in the back and the dump bed to "haul" things. Steerings great!

Decreasing quality

We had a peg perego green gater for 8 years that survived 2 of our boys. We ordered 2 of the Camo gaters recently for our twin boys about to turn 3 and within the first week had to call for replacement parts. Both tailgates are already broken off and the grills are in sorry shape as well. I didn’t realize that the Camo was all stickers and we have some of those peeling as well even with garage storage. I was so disappointed with the lack of durability of these gaters. I only gave the 2nd star because it has been nice to have the newer batteries.

Expensive for what it is

Granted we bought this for a 4 year old's birthday (who has a 6 year old sibling) but it definitely is smaller than it looks in terms of seating space. It is plenty roomy for the 4 year old and 6year old, but they will likely outgrow it sooner than later. It may have been better to purchase the single John Deere tractor that accomodates one slightly larger child and let them take turns, plus save over $100 in the purchase price. It seems fairly well made, but was a nightmare to put together given there were only picture instructions vs picture and written instructions. It is rather large and bulky of an item so it is tough to carry across the yard when the battery dies far away from the outlet in the garage. The battery only seems to last an hour or so, and the battery is not easy to get to to plug in...you need a screwdriver to remove the battery cover each time. Overall, my son enjoys riding and taking friends for rides, but I have the few gripes mentioned.
