Great ride on

We bought this for our sons 3rd birthday and he loves it!! In my opinion it was way too much money for cheap plastic but it's been almost a month since our son got it and every day he wants to go outside and ride his gator. so it was worth every penny if it makes him that happy!

The plastic wheels just spin on grass, concrete, gravel unless I walk along side my grand son and hold down on side of car to give drive wheel weight for traction. Not much fun doing it this way if you have remedy please let me know. I don't like when I have to try to figure out how to make it work right out of the box. You know it did cost me about $350 dollar be nice if it worked. Fred

LOVE this gator!!

My son absolutely loved this thing from day one!!! We bought this for him for christmas when he was a couple of months shy of being 2 and he is now about to be 5!! We live on 24 acres and literally drives it on every bit of the property. He could still be driving it if it werent for the new faster toys he has now. I feel like assembely went good no problems for me but like i read in another comment you might wanna get it put together a couple of days prior to the birthday or christmas..and also go ahead and put the battery on the charge. It might be worth buying an extra battery though the one lasts a very long time with just one rider on it I think about the only thing that i found a problem with is that it has plastic wheels and they do spin very easy and gets stuck in certain areas in the grass or going thru big mud puddles Quick easy soltion was to throw a bicycle tire around one of the wheels i did the back ride with i believe was a 20” mountian bike tire but it’d prolly be even better grip if you put it on both tires All in all we couldnt be happier with this gator. It’ll even make it thru giants puddles that the water even flows over the floor board...i hope my review helps anyone thats been hesitant about buying this for the price but its been worth every penny!!

Great gift. Missing a part though.

We love this John Deere ride on toy. Bought it for our grandsons birthday. Only problem was we waited until 2 days before the birthday to put it together. It was missing a wheel. We had to go buy another John Deere toy in a panic and luckily Walmart had one. Love the toy but my advice is put it together early in case there are missing parts.

New model is for smaller kids!

We bought the older model gator in 2010 for our then 3 yr old and it was a really great product, we wanted to buy another for our younger son. They'd still be using the 2010 model but they wore it out. Our youngest is 5 (42 lbs.) and the new model gator is too small for him, his knees hit the dash. Recommended age on the box is 3 - 8 yrs old. We're taking it back! I wouldn't recommend the new gator for kids older than 3 -4 yrs old. We are super disappointed in the new model gator!

Freaking Awesome (Country or Not)

Look, this thing is awesome and perfect for kids 2yo- (who knows) 9yo i think is recommended (but i'm a 230 pound man and it carries me... so probably way beyond 9) I have 2 boys, 1 loves the fast setting the other doesn't. They have driven it threw mud, grass, gravel, streets, hills and this thing performs superbly. The only time it has issues is in the slow gear (as only 1 tire spins) and when they try to run it through deep mud puddles where the mud touches the chassis. (BOTH completely reasonable reasons to get stuck). (Will buy another one after a few months for my 2 yo (no more sharing yay)). In high speed both rear motors kick in and give them the nice standard grip and can spin the tires and what not (looks so cool - but does destroy the tires (haven't had to replace any tires yet, have had mine ran daily for 4 months) If you live in the country, and are complaining about the "cheap" tires. Find any other ride on with rubber tires - please... because you won't. So for those people who need more grip, here's what you do, you buy this: https://www.walmart.com/search/?query=bicicle%20fat%20tires then cut them to size and screw them into the "cheap" tires. Voila. (of course if you decide to modify the vehicle - please be wary that your child might just start popping wheelies on dry surfaces).

My son Loves his!

We bought one for my 3 1/2 yr old for christmas. The only prob we had was we live on a hill our yard isn't flat. We figured it would have been a prob before we purchased it. When we got it home and my son finally got to ride it. It did slip a lot and you would have to push him. You can solve this prob two ways. Either put something heavy in the bed. Which we didnt like doing cuz then he couldnt put anything in the back. So my husband took some self tapping i think he used 5/8ths screws and put them in the back tires so it could get better traction. Worked like a charm! It will even go up hill on wet grass now. Just a thought for some people that have the same prob. Now he only goes on low speed so I have no idea how it handles in high.

Just finished assembling and some tips

We are giving this to out granddaughter tomorrow so will rate again after a few weeks. I just wanted to share a couple of complications we had in assembly. We had trouble getting the clear plastic windshield in the black frame. The top of the black rim just didn't want to open up to accept the clear windshield. We heated the black rim with a hair dryer and it worked. Also instruction number 25 doesn't mention that you need to tip the unit on its' side and push the green bed lift up so that it aligns with the red strap and lift bed. Hope this helps someone some struggles

The Best or Nothing

Bought this beautiful XUV for my two sons 4 and 2 they absolutely love it. Seeing there faces as they are driving it reminds me of the day I purchase my first Mercedes.. It took two days for my 4 year old to get familiar with all the components and different gears and now all he wants to do is drive it on the fastest geared which I don't recommend unless should plan to run all the Time next to it. It has great speed. It is a strong piece as well made in the USA which I love. I definetly don't recommend buying this piece for a 6 year old because it has no leg room. My 4 rear old will grow out of this in 2 years. Luckily I have two younger boys that can benefit in the years too come. I hope this helps

The best!

My son got it for his 2nd bday. He’s about to turn 3 now and we’re getting him the trailer to attach to the Jeep for his bday. He loves it and it’s great, absolutely no complaints. Easy to put together, battery works great and it’s great over bumps and big hills. We take it to my parents farm and he drives it around the fields and gravel roads.
