We purchased the new model of the John Deere Gator XUV for our 2 1/2 year old grandson. We have a very large lot that is all grass and wanted to have something he could ride around on when he came to visit. Could not have made a better choice. This vehicle is slightly larger then the previous model Gator and is of very high quality. Took about 2 hours to assemble including the application of all the decals. Peg Perago missed no details in designing this new model. It looks just like the full size version. One small part was missing and I called Peg Perego customer service. They shipped out a replacement part without question and we received it in 2-days! Great customer serivice!!!! This vehicle is powerful and handles hills without any problems. The working tail gate and working rear bed dump are a real plus. Our grandson simply loves this vehicle. Battery life is about 2 hours even on hilly terrain. Quite remarkable. If you are looking for a top quality ride on toy then do not hesitate to pick this one up. Walmart has the best price on this toy bar non plus free shipping to the store. Can't beat the deal anywhere.

Assembly wasn’t horrible, 12v is fast but the slower option and reverse are both nice. My 4 year old loves driving his 2 year old brother around. Charge holds for a long time which is great because getting the grill off and on for charging isn’t ideal. I’d recommend.

We gave this to our 5 year old Grandson for Christmas this year. He has already logged hours riding around our lawn picking up leaves...and then around his own neighborhood giving rides to his friends. It is a two seater and is built very sturdy. He will enjoy this vehicle until he outgrows it. It will accommodate him until he is at least 8 yrs old. Very pleased with this purchase.

We love this John Deere ride on toy. Bought it for our grandsons birthday. Only problem was we waited until 2 days before the birthday to put it together. It was missing a wheel. We had to go buy another John Deere toy in a panic and luckily Walmart had one. Love the toy but my advice is put it together early in case there are missing parts.

I've put together a lot of toys and vehicles in the past 40 years but these are some of the worst assembly directions I've ever seen. There are small photos only and they do not depict the parts well enough for you to be sure about assembly. Some pieces are depicted as needing to be assembled, but they come preassembled. I still have a spring left that I have no idea where it goes, don't see it in the pictures at all. I'm sure the grandkids will love this, but there is no excuse for such shoddy assembly instructions.

I bought this gator as a birthday gift for my son. I picked it up in store with the help of a friendly employee. If you pick it up in person make sure to have a truck or large SUV and some help loading it because the Gator comes in a huge box! Assembly takes a little over an hour and the instructions are easy to follow. Im truly impressed by the overall quality of the Gator. It looks and feels sturdy which is great because my son is not easy on his ride on toys. Its perfect for driving around the neighborhood or off roading! The battery life is incredibly long. My son and his friends have so much fun loading up the back and dumping out the contents into the yard. Overall a wonderful toy that is worth every penny.

My 4 year old son loves this. It's a little early to tell as it was a Christmas present, but seems to run well. We have some sloped areas with no snow currently. However the ground was a little froze. The tires spin quite a bit on leaves that are frozen to the ground. I put a few firewood logs in the back and it has a little better traction. I will be looking for other traction options. I thought I saw a rubber band that goes around the tires. The unit will not climb a 5:1 grade right now. So if your lawn area is sloped like mine it will spin. However we have enough flat spots for our son to drive it around. Takes quite a while to put together and some of the decals are already starting to come off in the tailgate area, but my son has been throwing logs and sticks and what not back there. But don't expect them to stay on long. Overall, I like this product. My son loves it.

Good little car. We were excited the age recommendation was for 3-8 year olds as we have 8, 5 and 3 year old boys. Definitely NOT made for ages up to 8. Our 8 year old is quite small for his age and he can not fit his legs in the car and neither can it pull his weight. He is only 48 pounds and 46 inches tall. Works well to tool around our smaller guys who are about 36 lbs each, but not that great when they ride together.

It has no traction on grass. After about 10 uses my kid barely bumped a tree and then something inside the part that moves the wheels broke and it makes a horrible squealing sound instead of turning the wheels. The tractor dumping part is manual and it's very hard to do, a kid can't dump it

My now four year old got this from his father for Christmas at the age of 7 months. His older brother who is now eight almost nine is barely outgrowing it. My four year old has been driving it since he was two. All the kids in the neighborhood love to go for a ride in this thing! It has two speeds which is great because we would allow the boys to ride in fields and if there was a bump or it was steep they could power down and get out of it. It also goes reverse. It has a handle go the passenger can hang on. The battery still has not failed me after all these years. I even kept it out doors for a whole year and didn't charge it at all and it kept up. Amazing! I love this thing and believe that when the boys outgrow it I will just pray paint it pink and give it to my niece. For three fifty it is definitely worth the price. It has lasted through four years of my older sons wear and tear as well as two almost three years of the four year olds wear and tear. Great and long lasting toy. I wish I had one as a kid. Also the boys love putting items they don't want to carry in the back like scooters, toys and somewhat heavy things or even a passenger in the back.
